  1. FAQ but well controlled is OK. You don't want a squeeker on a wet runway, Nev
  2. Too long and contentious to do here for Me. Look it up on Flight Institute IF you are that Interested. Nev
  3. You are stating the Obvious, but I feel compelled to ask, what experience do you have in chemical spraying in a practical sense? Mewp has put his Money where his Mouth is. He has skin in the game and the survival of his business depends on How he Manages it, Words are cheap. Nev
  4. Where you have very effective flap and an already draggy slow Plane there's NO benefit whatever doing it. Just Introducing a Potential higher risk situation with an excess ROD and control at Low speeds (especially if the Air is not Calm). STOL planes Hate gusty conditions. In those conditions you should use POWER AND reduce flap and don't cross the Controls.. Nev
  5. The type of LIFT used by Drones is not very efficient either. Chemicals are restricted and you must have a current Chemical USERS Accreditation . Windy days would Preclude some applications. Spraying Mixed Chemicals where compatible saves doing it multiple times. The Lower the Level the Better the result generally and some sprays are better using a shrouded stronger application. Herbicides and Pesticides are Bloody AWFUL things. The less of them used the Better for the World. Traces of Glyphosate are in everything now and it's use is BANNED in Many Countries Nev
  6. Could be a defect (crack) in the pylon. They have the 2 Boxes. Fuel and hydraulic lines are to the front of the Wings. Lot's of fuel. Fierce fire not visible from the cockpit. Nev
  7. They'd be pretty good for Inspecting the Property. Nev
  8. I just state the facts as I know them. I don't MOCK People or avoid any questions If a see something I believe is incorrect I would be negligent IF I just let it pass. NO? I only quote what I have experienced when I consider it relevant. I also have a vast number of U/L s that I have flown and instructed on and worked on. never scratched one . Some of the stuff you Blokes recommend scares the $#!t out of Me I must add. I'm much more risk averse than Many here appear to be. What anyone posts they should be prepared to OWN and answer for doesn't seem too much to ask, You don't get I read SOMEWHERE............... From Me,. I check things up. It doesn't take long and I find out More as well. THIS IS an aeroplane forum IS IT NOT? AND a Lot of GUESTS Visit HERE. It's an OPEN Forum also and some things happen that could be better. I've been here since DAY one which us a fair WHILE. I'm NOT a person who writes great Speils. I try to be brief, That's MY style, and I don't think people read LONG stuff on Forums generally. I have a Numb finger and thumb on My right Hand which can require Lengthy correcting which takes a lot of time. PEACE Be With YOU. Nev
  9. You are outvoted with ONE. Why would you need two? Besides, THEY COLLUDE when you aren't listening. Nev
  10. Spoiled goods. Not fit for Purpose? Nev
  11. They get no exemptions for being dedicated Cargo, Charter (non Regular.PT) does accept reduced standards, for route endorsements and Maybe a few other things. Nev
  12. AS you say you can do it with quite unsophisticated gear and doing it yourself you "Know the Block" and where the Problems are. Nev
  13. My bet on this one is an Uncontained Catastrophic engine failure and separation. Nev
  14. They should be grateful you took their daughter off their Hands.. Nev
  15. It's a STUNT. Proved a bit about the Plane. Turbine engines do it all the time, safely. Infinitely More reliable than Piston engines. Engines can be turbo charged to reach those altitudes easy enough. The P&W turbo'd 1830s got Liberators to well above 30,000 feet but the Plane limited operation much above that. Flight at absolute ceiling is touchy. You are right on the stall. Service ceiling is Lower where you reach 500 FPM Positive ROC. Nev
  16. If you want more than ONE wife at a time, you're a MORON.. Nev
  17. I got on very well with BOTH my Mothers in LAW. Nev
  18. Wheeled equipment does Cause soil compaction but it's pretty effective generally and Aerial Dusting is extremely risky and expensive. Weed control often needs attention to some specific areas of Infestation on an individual basis. AGAIN spray drift IS important to your Neighbours. Some of this stuff is toxic and ruin things like fruit trees, for miles away. People have to live near many of these crops as well. Nev
  19. I'm not game to Post either as I KNOW there's PLENTY of people just waiting to cut down me down. I wish you would just stick to Facts and not sling $#! because you don't like Me. THAT should NOT come into it. They are Not a "FEW" lighthearted Comments either. They are NASTY and personal and they demean this site, a bit like pPrune. WE have lost a lot of Worthy contributors because it's just NOT worth putting up with the BS quite frankly. Many times I've asked Myself "WHY do I Bother"? Well one I want to support IAN and also IF I help even one person occasionally to do things better and they survive It will be worth it..Nev
  20. Less "spray drift" with Ground equipment especially when shrouded. If you don't watch where your spray goes you will be in court quick time. Contractors do this stuff. you don't own the equipment unless you are BIG time. Nev
  21. Why would the Oil even flow at the temperatures there? At similar Temps (at the Poles) oil systems have to be diluted or Heated. Check Oil 'Pour Point'. SUCKING only lowers pressure differential. In a vacuum it doesn't work at all. Nev
  22. I'm pretty certain the Cause will be found. Nev
  23. Lay off you Sods. Haven't your tiny Minds got anything better to do than deride People? Neither of you have come up with Much of value to any discussionso far. Rotax are not fail Proof and they are designed and built by Humans Not Mandrake or God. Treat ALL engines as though they can fail and you'll live longer. Learn any weakness and allow for it. . Not everyone can afford such Gear. We still need a good simple cheap Motor in the < 100 HP range. Nev.
  24. No one concerned about the High Exhaust gas Temps? That's what you get with Turbocharging. Nev
