  1. The design of the tail feathers is normal and proven effective and not JUST for a retro Look as you seem to be fixated on. The very light weight of the Plane doesn't help but Low speed tipping on the Nose is getting more common. This Pilot had no other option. The placement of the Mainwheels also has a bit to do with How Much brake can be applied. Nev
  2. IF you are properly T/W endorsed that Fundamental fact would have been explained to you. You need "wind "over the elevators and rudder before you get any reaction from them. Also REMEMBER where you were taught to Have the elevators when taxiing downwind.?? Nev
  3. You have shown your ignorance there, Skip. Nev
  4. It's NOT very difficult to do a turn Like that. You often have to do a bracketing manoeuvre coming visual with a Non Precision approach. In the case shown you are fully visual all the way down and the conditions are CALM. The so called Co- Pilot seems to be running the SHOW. Maybe she OWNS THE AIRLINE. Nev
  5. Any record of the plane before the two mentioned. Subaru motor with Nosewheel is a tight squeeze . Nev
  6. Might be different with only one light person in it. I've never flown one when just solo. Aways when instructing. One was the actual owner and the Other a school one.. Nev
  7. Drive gears connecting the 2 shafts Have a Job to do as well. Not easy to work on. Nev.
  8. Yes. Same with over 120 Knots. Nev
  9. I have found that with full back trim some back stick force is still required on final, This is NOT really a problem when you get used to it. Make it go where you want it to and fly it accurately on attitude.. Nev.
  10. Quite a good choice of aircraft. Keep the weight off the Nosewheel always. Be rudder active and fly accurate speeds, on final particularly.. Don't land too fast and adjust the flare rate to what's happening ie put MORE Work in . Do some slow speed flying at a safe altitude. Make sure the engine idle speed is not too high. THAT can make them float excessively. Nev
  11. Birds get through the smallest of gaps and then fly to where they want to Nest. Your Hangar MUST be strong enough to Never collapse on your Aircraft OR it's ALL for Nothing.. Nev
  12. The Centre of a Cyclone rarely Moves at much above 20 KPH. It's the STRONG Wind and flying Debris that does the damage with Flooding in Low lying Coastal areas Due to the LOW sea level Pressures making the high tide be even Higher. Nev
  13. THAT doesn't happen suddenly. Gusts do.. Nev
  14. Being able to seal a shed with a door makes it better able to handle strong winds The BIG opening is hard to cross brace and needs to be braced at each side. Nev
  15. Vehicle Insurance is pretty much a Monopoly in Australia.. 3rd property fire and theft is often a good choice with a low value vehicle. One risk is that A vehicle can be written off very easily and you lose the vehicle unless you have a Keep the wreck clause written in. With later high tensile steel cars, any CREASES means it's a WRITE OFF. Also damage above 50% of vehicle value means a write off. Nev
  16. I prefer a Lever type with Friction adjuster. Does everything you Need. Nev
  17. The Head to cylinder joint is a problem to some extent with ALL engines whether it has a head gasket or Not. The RR Merlin blocks have the Head and block integral as did Most earlier Bugatti's. Diesels have a Larger number of head Bolts to cope with the High Pressures. Heat transfer must be considered and also variation of thermal rates of expansion of different Metals. Stress & Distortion. Nev
  18. Keep Birds out and dust and leaves. Also Privacy. Nev
  19. Looks Like there's a market ,Kyle. Nev
  20. Rotec make watercooled heads for Jabiru's. Probably only for the earlier Versions. .Nev
  21. I would have Never Geesed. Nev

    RANS S7 COURIER

I reckon these are one of the Nicest Aeroplanes of the Period. Nev
  23. Motor's done 1800 hours. Not sure if it's done a TOP. IF I Owned it, I would have.. Nev
