  1. Are any forum members attending the Rotax Heavy Maintenance course on 19 to 21 January 2025 being held at Bert Floods?
  2. The outcome will be an interesting read; a very sad event for the family of the deceased.
  3. Maybe they should link BFR data with AvPlan, OzRunways and Skyecho flight info as that would allow watching what we do (eg anyone flying unlicensed etc) then follow up with maintenance checks of the aircraft.🙂🙃🤪
  4. There is an anonymous confidential reporting system. The warning placard to passengers on the VH SAAA aircraft is likely why the manslaughter was dropped.
  5. Planning to attend the Fly'n, likely get to Narromine before hand then fly into Parkes. What's the under-wing camping like? eg area set aside, showers and toilets etc and food. I like to plan to arrive the day before so I'm not caught in last minute poor weather etc an also beat the congestion then settle in for a relax and take things in. What is the typical weather pattern for that time?
  6. There is some homework for you; let us know what you find out. If it does not affect electrical equipment like dry powder and foam does and if the air is safe for us them it should be suitable. I could not find a data sheet only the video, I took the images while waiting for a car pint colour to be mixed on Boxing day. These are the brief details I read. 7. Has anyone used these, saw the item at Autobarn the other day. Very compact and may be suitable on aircraft.
  8. Happens in the Maritime sector at times.
  9. She is one of us, an equal, a pilot. I'm sure she will learn from her video and be better in her future flights.
  10. An overweight takeoff, alledgedly overloaded with toys, at the North Pole resulted in an incident today. The pilot who reportedly flies only once a year had to be cut from the wreckage but was otherwise unharmed. The type of aircraft was unknown.
  11. Merry Xmas to all forum members, have a nice festive season and enjoy safe flights.

  12. The old owner might pay me to remove the phone number to reduce calls that don't lead to work / jobs.🙃 Looks a good buy. Also, if Bill Board had a car that would be it🙂
  13. Agree, we're taught AOA as an in theory understanding as our less than 600 kg aircraft don't usually have any AOA display and we add this to the theory and practical about stall and stall prevention and action and the relationship to speed it S&L and turns. (Hope that sounds right)
  14. Agree, (Following comment not meant to be instruction as I'm not an instructor ; just a comment) this type doesn't like losing airspeed in initial climb (low to ground and too higher climb initiated resulting in slowing the airspeed; will be near impossible to correct with nose over due to hight and rpm will already be at max, so nothing available - (yep higher AOA than desirable).
  15. Nice prop, good price should sell fast. Cheers
  16. Tarp looks the only solution. Maybe make a 'U' frame in 20mm PVC pipe to allow pulling over the wing easier.
  17. You haven't been asking him to many questions or correcting him on points too many times???
  18. Hi forum members; I'm booked for a course at Bert Floods on 19 to 21 January 2026 and after any local ideas about accommodation choices eg, caravan parks, aero clubs etc. (I have just emailed the Aero Club to ask) I'll likely fly down RPT on 18th and return home on 22nd so not rushed and maybe catchup with a forum member or two. The dates info only came out at 2pm so if Floods is open Monday I'll get confirmation that I'm on that one and I'll book the flights down. Appreciate any info. Is anyone else booked on a course; the one I'm doing is the Heavy Maintenance one. (On other dates they have Line Maintenance and iS engines a one day course.) Merry Xmas and Cheers Mike.

  19. Send the image to RAAus and the editor for their information. Cheers.
  20. Maybe take a radiator stop leak kit, as just in case needed.
  21. They need to get money from somewhere to buy their Collingwood supporters gear and go to the games. (Apology if need from a Lions / Fitzroy supporter) Cheers.
  22. Caught up with Jacques and Francoise at my hangar today. They were time limited so did not do a fly around the area, next time when they have more time. I took a packet of ‘TimTam’ biscuits and they liked them so have a couple of leftovers for later. Great to meet them and look forward to another visit another time. Jacques is an E-props dealer in Canada so was keen to hear my positive comments about the propeller I have fitted.
  23. Strap a solar panel on the side and make it a Hybrid🌞
