    Where the about 100kgs were trimmed (if trimming of weight occurred) may possibly be a contributing factor; will be interested in the Coroners findings. Hope its all good and weight correct and just an early lighter version to the current model advertised.

    When I did my rudder trim bungee I settled for the KISS manual principle with a sort of jack screw setup. Teleflex cable and a threaded wheel that moves the inner cable in or out with the distance from one turn being the thread pitch. Works a treat for the required movement. Could have fitted a trim servo and switch but settled for the simple and practical manual turn method. The cables come in 1, 2 or 3 inch movement.

    First new GA8 Airvan is off to Noumea today built by GippsAero, and their first export after relaunching their business just over a year ago.

    Maybe ATSB in a way supports complaining that they don't investigate all aircraft accidents as such may in the future lead to more staff for them so they can broaden their investigation ability to include RAA aircraft.

    There is no description of the flap your moving. Maybe it’s pressed up hard in its track that then act as a break. You need to provide more info and image of what’s not working.

    This is how I did my fit-up back in 2014. I could not understand why they used to mount back to back and onto to the lower cowl. Brackets are made from 32 x 3mm flat aluminium bar. Nice that they supply brackets to mount oil cooler high under the propeller shaft / flange.

    A good bright landing light is a must fit and use (in my opinion and experience), plus its good for taxi just on dawn to light up ground in front while taxing to the runup area. Best for safety to fit one or two landing lights for this reason. (Recent collision at Oaks is an example where maybe a bright landing light may have changed things. I'm not saying either aircraft did not have a landing light lit. Just that they will enhance your visibility in a variety of sky conditions and cloud backgrounds.) I have an Aveo landing light on mine for these reasons. Have a look at some local airfields were RAA aircraft land and see what they have and how they look.) Your choice and Cheers.

    Foxbats can be $240k and $120k second hand, info from Foxbat about 3 weeks ago. I forget the price of a new Jab 230 but over $150k from memory. Factory built Nynja is about $135k (includes freight and duty) Prices are getting up there.

    Thanks mate, had been on the to do list for a long time; but inconvenient to remove for a few days so always had been put off until another time. Mainly being slack. Always had a lexan one but it got a crack in it. Glad it's done now. Merry Xmas and enjoy the festive season. Cheers.

    Been doing a bit of mod to the Nynja over Christmas while the rain is on and while helping Ben with his wing tanks and 600 kg upgrade. Just increased the lower cowl lip to create a low pressure area to assist cooling air flow. For a few years had a 30mm lip in lexan and now made a permanent 46mm lip with epoxy and mat. The 30mm was a good improvement in keeping temps down at maximum rpm. (Don't fly max rpm cruise often but will be good for long continuous climbs.) See how this goes and can always trim back to 30mm it needed.
