  2. The old owner might pay me to remove the phone number to reduce calls that don't lead to work / jobs.πŸ™ƒ Looks a good buy. Also, if Bill Board had a car that would be itπŸ™‚
  3. Agree, we're taught AOA as an in theory understanding as our less than 600 kg aircraft don't usually have any AOA display and we add this to the theory and practical about stall and stall prevention and action and the relationship to speed it S&L and turns. (Hope that sounds right)
  4. Agree, (Following comment not meant to be instruction as I'm not an instructor ; just a comment) this type doesn't like losing airspeed in initial climb (low to ground and too higher climb initiated resulting in slowing the airspeed; will be near impossible to correct with nose over due to hight and rpm will already be at max, so nothing available - (yep higher AOA than desirable).
  5. Nice prop, good price should sell fast. Cheers
  6. Tarp looks the only solution. Maybe make a 'U' frame in 20mm PVC pipe to allow pulling over the wing easier.
  7. You haven't been asking him to many questions or correcting him on points too many times???
  8. Hi forum members; I'm booked for a course at Bert Floods on 19 to 21 January 2026 and after any local ideas about accommodation choices eg, caravan parks, aero clubs etc. (I have just emailed the Aero Club to ask) I'll likely fly down RPT on 18th and return home on 22nd so not rushed and maybe catchup with a forum member or two. The dates info only came out at 2pm so if Floods is open Monday I'll get confirmation that I'm on that one and I'll book the flights down. Appreciate any info. Is anyone else booked on a course; the one I'm doing is the Heavy Maintenance one. (On other dates they have Line Maintenance and iS engines a one day course.) Merry Xmas and Cheers Mike.

  9. Send the image to RAAus and the editor for their information. Cheers.
  10. Maybe take a radiator stop leak kit, as just in case needed.
  11. They need to get money from somewhere to buy their Collingwood supporters gear and go to the games. (Apology if need from a Lions / Fitzroy supporter) Cheers.
  12. Caught up with Jacques and Francoise at my hangar today. They were time limited so did not do a fly around the area, next time when they have more time. I took a packet of β€˜TimTam’ biscuits and they liked them so have a couple of leftovers for later. Great to meet them and look forward to another visit another time. Jacques is an E-props dealer in Canada so was keen to hear my positive comments about the propeller I have fitted.
  13. Strap a solar panel on the side and make it a Hybrid🌞

  15. My poorly worded post was to mean steel the most cost effective by far and that s/s can have failure issues that are not visible. Both will give a long in use life. Cheers.
  16. 316 gives no indication of pending failure and if used would need to be replaced in a shorter time compared to gal steel rope; (sail boat rigging, inspection and replacement intervals is a good indication).
  17. On a side comment it doesn't look like the gascolator bowl securing has been safety wired to prevent loosening.
  18. On the 26th November at Narromine this year the cable failed unfortunately damaging two gliders. (Cable was likely overdue for replacement.)
  19. Good to hear a few aircraft in the air today in the Pioneer Valley area West of Mackay. Jabiru, C182, two Bristelles, Savannah, Cherokee and a Nynja. Maybe a Gazelle at Turtle park? Only a couple painted on Ozrunways and Skyecho2 The sky was clear. IMG_7653.mov
  20. There are fireproof paints that are used on the interior of our types of aircraft construction. PM if you want details of one product used over here.
  21. Started this topic to share where SkyRangers and Nynja's are flown. First up is a bit long but shows the area between Gladstone and Makay in Queensland during May with the trip to 'The Old Station Flyin 2022'. Grab a cuppa or coldie and hopefully enjoy. https://youtu.be/AiMw9HTTvwA

  22. Agree, just the depth and amount that changes, sadly for us. πŸ™ƒπŸ˜πŸ
  23. Sometimes you need to re state what you have records wise and what you want to achieve, at times may not digest the information while on the phone. Best to email the question with any supporting info you believe is necessary and then phone so it allows the necessary time to give an answer, this considers what they have on the desk to do and what they have just one. They are busy sorting aviation stuff for us. They are for us and helping us within the rules.
