  1. It’s good for testing, refer to the Rotax installation wiring diagram. I wouldn’t follow the image wiring on my aircraft.
  2. Not the Rotax setup, must work. What I seek Phil to identify is a fault in the wiring, eg perhaps his capacitor is in series in the wiring to the battery Positive. Likely the wiring is not easy to follow the wiring in the harness, hence fit temporary wires as per Rotax.
  3. If you want to play, send a letter requesting re issue for you expiry of current issue or provide a 1/24th refund. Otherwise ask fair trading what they think of this blatant ripoff. I had similar, thought I'd be smart and renew mine a month late as didn't need it, pin on renewal was good for one or two months after due date. I sent my late bit of info to allow processing 2 days into month. When I got it it was the month before. Just a bunch of cunning so and so's. As I was late did not do above and was a month overdue when I renewed, just stretching it out. Cheers and best regards mate.
  4. I'd have it in the circuit as per Rotax wiring diagram. You could provide temporary wiring from rec/reg 'R' to it and then to battery negative. If no issues then follow the existing wires to their connections in the system. (there should be, likely not a wiring diagram for the build?) If you do above; insulate and support the bare, original, wires against movement and touching the frame.
  5. Sounds like you have it wired up incorrectly. R to ground is rotax hookup.
  6. Looks like pilot overshot his roll, needed to brake a bit, then nicked off quick. Nice kiss the rubber and off.
  7. All good, just asking what SAAA members need to put in place to fly.
  8. How are you covered with SAAA, if at all, therefore you're on your own. Plus need insurance coverage like RAA provide. ??
  9. The outcome would be a good article in the next Sport Pilot.
  10. Will be and I'll place Kopper Kote anti-seize on the spring to the lugs.
  11. CKT by the muffler system manufacturer.
  12. Aveo 8 led landing light.
  13. Closeup of cabin heat fit. Not screwed down fully as need a hand on other side to tighten fastenings. (A new exhaust spring is to be fitted as can see wear on coils from safety wire. I just use red silicone paste in future. also put kopper Kote on spring ends, Rotax UK do that)
  14. Very crunched in on left side, hope pilot recovers ok.
  15. A pilot has been freed after becoming trapped in the wreckage of a light plane that crashed in the NSW Southern Highlands. Emergency services were called to Medway Rd in Berrima about 7.45am Thursday after reports a light plane had crashed into a paddock. Pilot freed from light plane crash wreckage When ambulance, police and fire crews arrived, they found the pilot trapped inside the wreckage. Police said the 58-year-old man, who was the sole occupant of the aeroplane, is believed to have been inside the wreckage “for some time” before he was freed. Pilot freed from light plane crash wreckage He sustained leg injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics, before he was flown to Liverpool Hospital. Aviation authorities have been notified and are investigating the incident.

  17. Received my s/s id plate for the Nynja today’s mail. At $20 real value from Mydogtags in USA. Thanks FlyingBaz for the lead. Cheers
  18. Agree, originals were with Kopper Kote and 450 hrs so plan relace again at 300 hrs. (Thought I may have had to drill out threads and use bolts and nuts etc; but threads ok so do same again.)
  19. Current job is fitting the cabin heat unit I purchased in August last year after a cold flying trip out west over a few days last year. Got the wrap fitted last night and while off the motor took the opportunity to loosen the exhaust pipe clamp screws so I can point them more towards straight down rather than swept back, should clear the exhaust gas away better. (This required the patience, flame heat, WD40 to penetrate and slow back and forth to clear the rust, skills learn many years back and reused at times:) Found the cap crews badly wasted (450 hours and 10 years) so plan to replace again in 300 hours time. Next yew days will cut the fire wall penetration and fit the valve to open and close the heat.
  20. Only be good for picking your weekly Lotto numbers, maybe.
  21. Thankyou for the detailed examples, very helpful and very appreciated. I'll pass on to our flyers at Palmyra who have been asked to comment on the matter. I hadn't thought about ERSA as the area is south of Mackay Airport at the northern end of the town of Sarina. Cheers Mike
  22. The clubs letter to us mentioned aircraft up to less than 25kg.
  23. At Mackay, in Hangar at Palmyra YPYA. The 4 tailplane pieces were available as a set for $600 ($150 each) and are happy to sell at $500. I'll have to check about Struts. I'll check with the owner, I think there is at least one, I see the two jury struts are in his hangar. Pm your contact or email if you like. PS I just tried to call the owner but no answer so will find out about the struts. Regards Mike.
