    Just maybe tee up MB to do a w&b next time you fly over to your hangar then you will have it for SAAA or you could submit to RAAus and they will get it approved at no cost to file with your aircraft records. Would have been great for you if previous owner had done this but at least the records are being corrected and completed.

    Just spoke to him as I wrote reply to RFGuy. The hearing aides are comfortable, however the receiving radio words are somewhat garbled and he at times cannot understand them. He is a very experienced GA and now RAA pilot and this has only been an issue in past 18 months, and he's up to date with hearing aide checks. Tv reception via the above device is great and would be good if he can connect similar in the Vixxen.

    For flying (Vixxen) he uses Bose 10 headsets and is wearing his hearing aides. The fit (Comfort) of the hearing aide is good. He finds the words are unreadable, volume is good just unable to understand the words, tone pitch etc. So makes it hard to understand the radio traffic. This has only been an issue in the last about 18 months. At home for TV he uses the Phonak TV connector to hs hearing aides via Bluetooth and the words are ecellant so he would like to maybe connect his aircraft radio to his hear aides the same. I was thinking / asking if its worth trying to make a connection plug using the Phonak cord with its usual plug one end and a headset ear piece pug on other end so they can be fitted up and powered via USN in panel. Just a guess at a fix. Cheers

    Agree, full video of push back taxi etc will be interesting. No pax so no chance to get a heads-up from cabin side unfortunately. There have been engine fires in recent times.

    Thanks I just sent a message asking that info, also what is the brand and model of headsets with built in correction an approximate cost? He could buy them. He has a mate that flys into his strip (Just north west of Bowen) and he wears hearing aides and not issues so I've asked him to try his headsets. Thanks for reply.

    Speaking with my mate last night and he said that his hearing aides are still play up with his headsets; and that the Phonak TV blue tooth adaptor works great for his TV. Looks like he may be able to setup a connector that plugs into his headset hearing plug and powers from a USB supply. Has anyone done something similar. (I'm thinking that should be able to maybe splice a male headset plug to the lead that has the male pins at each end?) My friend lives 2 1/2 hours away so always hard to assist him. His head set is Bose 10 that he likes to use and also has a set of Bose 20 but prefers the 10's. Any helpful comments appreciated.

    My understanding regarding the SAAA maintenance course pass is that an owner can do the necessary maintenance on the aircraft they own. Will not be able to do maintenance on other people’s aircraft. With RAA an L2 can do maintenance within their authority on members aircraft at a reasonable or zero cost. SAAA aircraft that become VH if the owner doesn’t want to gain authority to do their own maintenance will need to engage a LAME; which is good although more costly than some alternatives within RAA. Just my understanding.

    Yep; they recommend 2200 or a little higher about 2300 to ensure smoothness. Some engines can be a bit rough running at 2200. This is mainly to reduce effect to gearbox plates. (Also not ever mentioned is that rough running of engine results in the scuff marks on the carb piston slide sides, due to the carbs shaking. Any marks are not detrimental to the carb performance. So in short best after start to be at 2200 rpm minimum then after a few minutes increase to say 2500 to get to recommended lowest temp for take off.

    Agree, apparently has occurred on other engines, nut splits and loosens off. Just interesting that no damage occurs.

    A mate of mine found a nut missing on his 912 ULS Rotax (No 1 Cylinder head) still ran like normal. I told him to get 3 nuts form Floods; one to fit and a spare for his kit and one for my kit in case we come across the same again some time. Very forgiving engines the 912 UL and ULS in my experience.

    In Corners court people at times withhold information; in order to get the fullest of facts at times the Coroner will offer privilege as a way to gain information from a person before him.

    This is a quick note I made to use it, its not the most intuitive to use. It reminds me how to get around the settings. I sent another message about the missing adaptor as I need it to allow setting it up in the hangar and I borrow an adaptor to charge up at present. Radio insts Quansheng UV-5R.docx

    Did you get the $74.95 one? I got one works good but did not have the adaptor for Australia, advert says its included, emailed about that but no reply to date. If you bought that one I'd be interested to hear if you got the adaptor. Cheers.

    This is how I did it. (Spectra cord like used for mower or outboard pull starts) Very easy. Talc powder on bungee will assist sliding if needed.

    There are images of the tool they use. I changed one a few years back and used a straight 900mm crowbar to pull the bungee up and over the top lug. A loop of Spectra cord was used between the crowbar and bungee and also a small block of soft wood was placed were the tip of the crowbar pivoted on the metal. Didn't mark the paint and worked. Have an image I chase up if needed.

    The agent may not have an answer for you today but should chase down an answer for you as other owners will also be in need of a replacement battery in the future that's the support I give to people; hence my remark 'PP'. Hope you get a satisfactory answer and look forward to hearing what it is.

    Agree, absolutely piss poor not to assist regarding suitable replacement battery. Have you sent an email to the factory? If no reply, I'd email and phone RAAus tech for any assistance / advice they can give. I reckon the factory will be able to provide an answer even check with UK agent as they should be a good help.

    Nice add how many you need plus a couple of extras. Hope you track some down. Freight from USA is a painful cost.
