  1. Only be good for picking your weekly Lotto numbers, maybe.
  2. Thankyou for the detailed examples, very helpful and very appreciated. I'll pass on to our flyers at Palmyra who have been asked to comment on the matter. I hadn't thought about ERSA as the area is south of Mackay Airport at the northern end of the town of Sarina. Cheers Mike
  3. The clubs letter to us mentioned aircraft up to less than 25kg.
  4. At Mackay, in Hangar at Palmyra YPYA. The 4 tailplane pieces were available as a set for $600 ($150 each) and are happy to sell at $500. I'll have to check about Struts. I'll check with the owner, I think there is at least one, I see the two jury struts are in his hangar. Pm your contact or email if you like. PS I just tried to call the owner but no answer so will find out about the struts. Regards Mike.
  5. Hi The airfield I operate from (Palmyra YPYA) has been advised that an aero modelers club to the south is renewing their CASA authority and are requesting approval to 1,500 AGL rather than the current 400 ft AGL. Early days and our airfield is preparing a reply after getting comments from our airfield users. Do any members here know of any such operations above the usual 400 ft AGL and if so could you advise their contact. Our initial considerations would be for all piloted aircraft to be aware of any such operation, methods would include details on VTC chart Mackay / Whitsunday (the club is within the southern 2,500 ft step into Mackay (YBMK); perhaps a radio call on at least 126.7 re take-off, intention and when landed, their operations area I believe is a 600 meter radius of their clubs field (to be confirmed); perhaps fitted with a conspicuity device (eg Skyecho or similar) to enhance visibility and situational awareness to manned aircraft transiting the area. Any comments appreciated. Cheers Mike
  6. This is the form being discussed; off the RAAus site for information. (Under 'Forms' on site.) MEM007-Reactivation-Flying-and-Junior-Membership-2026.pdf
  7. Yep some of the younger, like auto pilot and netflix movie downloads. Sad but happens and talking one up.
  8. Clifton has been mentioned before, if it suits find out what learning material they recommend. Lone eagle is a good experienced school.
  9. This is what I have and see it often, Comant VHF Communication Antenna CI-121, $500 at Spruce, $440 at Mendelssohn Pilot Supplies PTY LTD , and they have a cheaper version at $275 best phone them for a review and price. or view thier webb site. You want good radio setup for trans/rec quality, worth the expense.
  10. I'll keep that in mine when down that way next in a few weeks time, usually over fly Milliorn. Its a very scenic fly through area.
  11. That's the winning move, be cheapest as using your own aircraft, the instruction is on your aircraft so you'll get fully familiar with her, and at the end you will have your tail wheel endorsement.
  12. He has stuff for sale, shouldn't mind taking a call over Easter as he may have the bits you need and he'll get money for them.
  13. Try Tony Kerr at Gympie Aircraft Maintenance. He has been selling Skyfox parts in last couple of weeks on Facebook market place. He was an authorised repairer.
  14. Use the correct epoxy, scarf ratio, sandpaper may include cotton flock. The epoxy may be 3600 Arildite - )i'm not sure just check)
  15. Some cars won't run well on 98, read the cars manual about fuel. If 98 is ok use in your car. If you need to get it used someone doing regular flying at the field may buy it off you (at the pre war price its attractive).
  16. I was going to fly mid morning today, but the after burners failed to light up, so did a NASA thing and aborted the flight until 1 April next year😎🙃
  17. Worth buying a new capacitor, even if not the cause its not an expensive outlay. Often the issue is a faulty capacitor. Need to be the correct size and also check its wiring circuit.
  18. How damaged is the Kittyhawk wing from its Sunday excursion? Not too bad I hear.
  19. I remember seeing it at Clifton around 2006 or 2008. Nice looking build. Cook and eat a sausage by the exhaust is a jet build ritual.
  20. Up here Diesel $3.09 to $3.15 per Litre. 95 is $2.65.
  21. BFR done and dusted today, then onto ride on mower maintenance, thought it would be a quick two blade change. Not to be and doing a bit extra.
