  1. well i got a 22 rifle, took it out to the gun club and got it to shoot tight groups at 25 mt. then i went starling hunting. i shot 2 and felt that guilty for killing them i haven't tried again🙂
  2. i missed your post at the time. i have been thinking the same thing cable tie a length of conduit on each side. not only would it be easier to throw over but the weight would stop the tarp slipping off when easterly winds blow through the gaps in the doors.
  3. i really like the way phil explains things. great series of videos. how would you go when flaring on touchdown if you limit the travel. would it still be the same.
  4. https://youtu.be/7WJBbFL4UFE?si=Qlhg3ueWVNgmmoSd
  5. I didn't check atis . Good idea though, I have the atis numbers on my phone. Maybe it was just a quiet day. They might have all been in the classroom with aircon as it suggested. When the they stop flying the silence is deafening. You get used to the sound being there all day and a lot of the night.
  6. pretty sure they had 2 people and full fuel and it wouldn't climb, crashed into wetlands outside the airport.
  7. the report should be here somewhere.
  8. the original prop brand is allsize
  9. thanks. definiteley no traffic over carrum yesterday afternoon and not much today. probably a different reason altogether, i just wondered if it was because of the heat.
  10. i suspect da gets too high for safe flight with 2 people. like the jab that crashed at wentworth a couple of years back in 38c
  11. 37 here is worse than 45 in perth. awful heat here.
  12. i thought you would know about moorabbin if anyone did
  13. I think the rules pretty clear but they do get bent. What I posted about the 3600 hr engine is 100 percent true but I don't want to go into too much detail about someone else's business.
  14. raaus are known to bend the rules a fair bit from my experience
  15. all the experts on here can't answer this question ?
  16. no . but i trained in the aircraft in question. it was owned by a lame and used for raaus training. he was allowed to run on condition because the aircraft had a type certificate. apparently there is a loophole that allows it. the insructor owned the aircraft and is a lame / l4, he is pretty switched on and he is not a liar.
  17. Not quite true either. I know a 912 that went to 3600 hrs in a school plane
  18. Isn't a new 912 30k
  19. today was quite hot here 37 deg. i have not heard any aircraft flying out of moorabbin today. not one. usually there is a non stop procession of trainers going over here. do they shut the training down after a certain temperature.
  20. i asked why do casa allow ga to train with an engine on condition but they don't allow raaus too. i am not sure what you mean.
  21. maybe you should read the posts
  22. so what is different in the manual to what i already put on here. according to f10 there is a $330 marap plus you would have to ad l2 , probably end up $600 or more. some l2s might charge way more than that. the $1200 charge i mentioned earlier for going to e24 is the fee db charges when he does all the paperwork.
  23. i used zero time as an example. it can be rebuilt or a new engine. i think wal charges $13000 , if its still around that price its a lot cheaper than new.
  24. explain which part you are referring too.
  25. I don't think it is compulsory because the issues with gazelles changing hands lately involving engines there has been no mention from raaus about going experimental. In fact you can zero time the engine and use it for training still .
