  1. i thought there was no way they could burn unlike lithium iron which i thought you had at first.
  2. try doing that if your throttles are not available . i am pretty sure the qantas captain i was talking about would have some idea about flying.
  3. and that is what will keep pilots in a job. look at the uproar when airlines wanted to have single pilots . there is also the problem of fly by wire. if you read the story of the airbus that had the uncommanded descents over wa, the pilot from that said when the electronics fail there is nothing the flight crew can do. as you said earlier a backup mechanical control would be reassuring.

  5. i understand but you have to admit ice are very efficient and reliable these days.
  6. Don't be a dronego
  7. I don't really care, just thought it was interesting. I laughed because I was just thinking how long is it going to take for o/t to jump on this. Didn't have to wait long.😁
  8. This thread is in the running for most pointless of 2025. It's more boring than the ones I start😁. This is from a pilot, operator or maybe I am airflow control technician
  9. this might be interesting
  10. the ice is still the most fuel efficient and reliable engine available. It will be a long time before electric takes over except for Hybrid, but If there I ever a major breakthrough in battery technology it may happen. Can't see it yet .
  11. The future might even be hybrid. Like a small turbo prop running a prop and battery charging. If they come up with a small fuel efficient turbine one day. And light weight batterys.
  12. The diesels would run on jet fuel I would imagine.
  13. Sorry. I didn't mean to imply you flew dc3 😁. You often talk about the 727s. I guess fly by wire takes a lot potential mechanical failures out of the system.
  14. Nev when you flew airliners how reliable were they compared to the modern computerised versions.
  15. This thread was about the airbus Directive In the first post . They were talking about all aircraft not Jetstar. They said there are around 6000 affected.
  16. There used to be thrusters spraying crops until casa stopped them.
  17. There are around 6000 AC affected around the world and yes we know it is a software issue.
  18. Kelly hills drones spraying crops at 200 acres per hour. 80 gallon tank.

  20. I bet he didn't do that again
  21. Something like 6000 aircraft have to have a software update.
  22. Didn't they have some big drama last year trying to change their name.
  23. I have asked this question before but forget the answer. On Oz runways I can see aircraft around me. Do those planes have adsb or is it Oz runways own signal
  24. Does it answer your question about delivering avtraffic alarms
