    This is how I rebent the tube ends into the airflow flow. Worked well today so will fly agin to trial the fit up over the next couple of weeks, before doing the other filler cap. Thanks for comment Mark.

    looks like one engine not at 100%, yellowish centre flam and not occupying cone diameter. I'm sure they will get it sorted out.

    These are my covers that prevent the mud wasps. (There is a mud wasp build on the end of the pitot cover.)

    Fabricated a new style vent to trial in my wing tanks. Have completed one as a trial / proof of concept (it’s a spare that a mate gave me). Drilled a 3.5mm bore in the bolt on a mates lathe today so now ready to fit to one tank and give it a tryout.

    Had a look in person at prototype at Oshkosh 2024, interesting framing to attach wing. No doubt will work; however the other brands 15 has nicer style looks although is a heaver build. There will be long waits for kits I'd expect. I won't be needing / wanting one.

    You need to contact Jabiru direct as they are the ones that schedule the courses. There will be a cost to their line maintenance course as that what they told me back in April.

    Agree that is what I would do (method to inspect and correct discussed fully with new owner); I was just doing an inspection report for the transfer of ownership. The report it had was just out of date. The new owner would have thought just a formality getting another but I found 4 things not compliant, so it was worth doing. I'm happy to sort the issues and suggested he have the factory do it if they are available. I'm not chasing work just help out. Cheers.

    Has any member had experience with the balance shot in the elevator. I looked at a nice Terrier T200 yesterday and moving the starboard elevator up and down you can hear the balance shot rolling inside. No mention of how it is installed in the paperwork the new owner had. He recently bought it at Jindabyne did 3 hours there with CFI and 13 hours trip home so it flew nice for the 16 hours. He had spoken to the factory pre purchase and he is going to contact him again this week so hopefully he gets some good assistance. I recommended inviting the factory contact out to view the aircraft and buy a couple of spare parts he will need soon (eg brake pads, a bolt for wing strut (correct length, etc) and arrange sorting of the loose balance shot. Hopefully the factory owner will sort as the aircraft is very nice and a flying example in the local area as the factory is only about 30 minutes away. IMG_6198.mov

    Buy he size you reckon then some the next size down and some the next size up. plus the metric and imperial thickness. Try best to suit. As I said just temporary get home. Then fit new item. loss of fuel is a real buggar.

    I reckon best to replace the valve with a new one. I carry two small size O rings as temporary repair in my spares kit but the seal is a square o ring shape. You can buy them ex USA, but best just get a new whole item.

    You could send images to Jabiru and ask about this, as if you need any other parts they can be sent with the rubbers. Would be a shame if you need two postage’s and await a second delivery. Great that you are getting to understand your aircraft’s build. Let us know what you find out. Cheers. PS never know may have only had an over length bolt. If so you will need a correct length one. Just a guess.

    On a side note a good friend of mine told a story from his father who flew in New Guinea during WW II said that pilots had their breakfast on return from their mission. Their breakfast included an egg and the ground crew would ask him who got the egg if he did not return from the mission. Just a nice story to share from those times. Eggs would have been a valued food and in short supply.

    There are reports now that the Captain had some health issues over recent years that took him from flying for some periods, and a family death had occurred, and he was cleared to fly again after that recent absence. Also investigators will consider if the situation arose where the person switching the FCS to off sought to cover the action by asking the other why they moved the switches; such typically occurs in some crimes. Just one of many questions the investigation team may chase.

    1675 lb is 759.7kg and will fit the Australian RAAus new class 'G' two seats (MTOW 760 kg).

    Seems that 3 secs and a bit after liftoff the cutoffs happened; I'd expect the flying officer would have his hands on the yoke and throttle; therefore the only person to operate anything else is the other pilot in the cockpit. So looking like that person is the suspect at present at a guess.

    I have a dual USB from Jaycar and soldered in the mod RFGuy suggested a few years back to eliminate clicking noise and working great ever since. Used often to charge mini ipad and iphone with no issues. Most recently on an 11.3 hour trip of 4 hops.
