  1. I can see this 336kg MTOW aircraft at cruise speed of 87 kts consuming about 2 US Gals. I'd expect they are providing accurate specs as he seems proud of his product and would not like to be proved incorrect. Just my view of things. Powerplant Engine: Spirit V2, 42 hp, inverted V-twin, air-cooled, direct-drive Fuel Capacity: 8 gallons Fuel Consumption: 1.8 – 2.2 gph in cruise Approved Fuels: 91 AKI unleaded auto gas or 100LL avgas
  2. He said he made good out of a design and military contract, I guess cashed up and put a dream into go. Looks a very nice setup and outcome. Best of luck to him for the future. I expect someone over here will buy one and I look forward to seeing the real thing up close.
  3. Since the 1960s, the Boeing 737 has ruled the skies. But this week (October 2025), it was overtaken by the Airbus A320 as the most popular plane in commercial aviation. Airbus has now delivered 12,260 A320s to airlines, one more than the 737.
  4. He would have been better comparing the Sling 2 to a Piper or other low wing and comparing the Sling high wing to a C 172.
  5. That's how I've done single and multiple joined cracks.
  6. Usually a very easy repair, take at least 2 hours but likely 4 hours and pretty much invisible, someone at your airfield or within 100kms would have done these repairs.
  7. Being sold to the 1st inquirer; to be confirmed after Sunday as the seller is at sea and very poor comms.
  8. A mate is selling his SE2 as he upgraded his avionics. Asking $150 and if posted may add $20 or 25. If any serious buyers I'll put you in contact to him so you can get details direct from him.
  9. Maybe try Xair Ireland they have a webb site for all models. I purchase my electric carb heaters off them. Always been helpful. Cheers.
  10. ABC is reporting a helicopter (They may be mixing up a gyro) and that it started a further grass fire that took time to bring under control. Dry up this way now so heaps of grass fuel for bush fires. None of my local sources have any detail of the event.
  11. Some of the Lions players are pilots so part of our aviation tribe.
  12. I surprised you didn't go to the Fitzroy catchup with the players, you could have got some selfies to put on the forum 😁🙃🦁🏆
  13. Or be cabin crew if there is turbulence. Players flight is covered as they have the cup in the cabin so room if required.
  14. Well done Lions (Brisbane / Fitzroy); great mauling play. Next year should make it 3 in a row. 🦁
  15. The manufacturer address's balance with mass bolted on the engine, I saw one recently that had two mass weights attached top and bottom of the Rotax 912; it has and E-prop replacing the original Fiti prop. The factory advises the mass to be attached, it this case for the lighter E-Prop. (Image of upper mass added.)
  16. Yes; use the pump bottle, soaked rag and also a small paint bush for bolt heads, nuts and tight places.
  17. Details about ACF 50 from the company webb site. What is ACF-50? ACF-50, Anti-Corrosion Formula, is a state of the art, anti-corrosion/lubricant compound, that has been specifically designed for the Aerospace Industry. ACF-50 can be described as an ultra thin fluid film compound which must be applied on an annual basis. ACF-50 actively penetrates through the corrosion deposits to the base of the cell where it emulsifies and encapsulates the electrolyte, lifting it away from the metal surface. ACF-50 then dispels this moisture and provides an atmospheric barrier which prevents any further moisture contact, thereby keeping the cell inactive. This compound continues to actively penetrate and "creep" into the tightest of seams, lap joints, micro cracks and around rivet heads, dissipating the moisture, even salt water, in these corrosion prone areas. These unique abilities of ACF-50 remain effective for 12 months, gradually disappearing as it is chemically consumed. What will it actually do? Being ‘Pro Active’ about corrosion control is the best way to protect your investment. Regular ACF-50 treatments reduce maintenance costs and improve overall flight safety. The application methods and specially designed equipment, deliver ACF-50’s penetrating fog to all critical aircraft structure. Only ACF-50’s advanced corrosion control properties, protect both airframe and avionics systems. Kills existing corrosion & prevents new 'ACTIVE' for up to 12 months Excellent lubricant & penetrant Approved for use on electrics & engines Easily applied non-drying, ultra thin, clear film Very economical Contains no wax, silicon, Teflon or water ACF-50 - In Brief ACF-50 is a light carrier with a proprietary package of additives that transform it into an astonishing creeping-fluid AND an outstanding de-watering fluid too. These properties mean that just the smallest amount will get into every crevice, every blemish of corrosion, and utterly remove the water. No water means no corrosion, period. And that’s just the start of it. ACF-50 stays in place for up to two years, actively spreading, sacrificing itself to keep corrosion at bay. FACTS ABOUT ACF-50 MIL SPEC 81309 TYPE II AND III APPROVALS which means ACF-50 is approved for ferrous and nonferrous metals, electrical systems and electronic components. CHEMICALLY NEUTRALISES corrosive environmental effects, including de-ice spray. EASILY APPLIED non-drying, ultra-thin, clear film. CONTAINS NO WATER,SILICON,TEFLON OR WAX no sticky build up, no risk of existing corrosion being sealed in and no risk of water remaining where it will cause corrosion and damage, even on electrics. ‘ACTIVE’ which means that it ‘creeps’ and ‘keeps on working’. DOESN’T NEED REAPPLYING ACF-50 will last up to 24 months, flight after flight after flight. ECONOMICAL - 95% Product – a little goes a long way - lasts ages. SAFE TO USE ANYWHERE ON THE AIRCRAFT, FIXED OR ROTARY ideally misted into voids or applied directly into electrical joints and components where it will prevent corrosion induced failures. MAINTAINS THE ASTHETIC of the aircraft. LIGHT LUBRICANT & PENETRANT. All Year Round SERVICE SPRAY. AS CLOSE TO ZERO CORROSION AS NATURE WILL ALLOW! APPLICATIONS 1. SINGLE ENGINE & LIGHT TWINS Spray into: wing sections, fuselage, vertical & horizontal stabilizers, hinges, teleflex cables, air vent cables, trim cables, throttle cables, battery boxes, engine compartments, avionics, antenna mounts. 2. ROTORWING AIRCRAFT Spray into: tail boom section, engine compartments, strap pack, landing gear, air vent cables, rotor head, grip areas, avionics, antenna mounts, cannon plugs. ACF-50......KILLS CORROSION ON CONTACT!
  18. Some spray products will harden and deteriorate the wiring loom insulation plastic; which is no good. With ACF50 that won't occur and its suitable for the pin connector surfaces to guard against corrosion; Please read the product data and usages in aviation sheet before using; its well worth the purchase and good for the Rotax 912 engine body to keep things corrosion free. Its good and for certain applications better than 'Corrosion X'.
  19. ACF50 is good, have a read of spec sheet and its proven uses. Maybe clean all with it and then reassess the airframe.
  20. At 4:11 and :15 speed drops and loosing 2,000 ft not good and then looks like a recovery for a short time.
  21. Seems medical was the main draw card and Class 5 medical pretty much fills that gap for VH now.
  22. You'll enjoy flying the Xair, they are nice to fly and I hear better without the rear fuse skin (Farri told me as a mate of his had one at his strip a few years back). Putting the new engine on it and with SAAA or remain RAAus?
  23. Agree that's why I said perhaps in time.
