  1. Moral of the story is don't drive a van. They seem to be unlucky. I have driven all over remote wa and NSW never had a breakdown. Then my cruiser decided to crack the head just out of Perth . Was Easy to hitch a ride home on Albany Highway. Another time we drove my wife's diahatsu charade from Albany to Gippsland VIC for Christmas. Not one problem. We got home and hit a roo in the middle of town and smashed the front in.
  2. He bought it from manhiem , are they part of pickles group
  3. If you don't want to drive it over get your mate to remove the window rack. I have driven across the paddock many times too. Its a good drive.
  4. I would have thought you would find an I load in Perth. Long way to come here and get one. I could have helped with a parking spot but I am on the wrong side of Melbourne for you.
  5. It was a simple question, I didn't know if it was your words or not. I didn't mean to upset you.
  6. Is this cut and paste or your own thoughts. Because I have to disagree. It looks like it would be a pig to fly. Short tail boom, tailwheel . No dihedral that I can see. Pilot weight would have a large effect on c of g I think plus leaning to one side to see. No thanks. And I am a highly experienced pilot too. I have flown 3 xairs, each one a different colour.
  7. Allowing pilots with rpc into CTA will be new. An raaus reg aircraft has always been allowed if equipped with the required equipment but the pilot had to hold an RPL. I had an xair which had all the gear and the previous owner was a retired commercial pilot.
  8. I was looking at changing a titan tornado from VH to raaus . Spoke to Darren Barnfield. As long as I had the original coa it was straight forward. They only needed the original. Didn't have to get a new one
  9. But that is what rescue choppers do all the time.
  10. You have always been able to change a VH to raaus. Or is that up to 600 kg only
  11. Spellcheck got me. A weight flyer probably wouldn't leave the ground.😁
  12. So I wasn't far off with cigarette butt. 😁
  13. Yes. Like those pterodactyl ultralights. The weight flyer too for that matter.
  14. What the hell are you saying. What's a fagend, a cigarette butt
  15. That's what I wondered . If they are stall proof why are not more popular, the ones I have watched on YouTube seem to need a lot of runway .
  16. Why ?. I guess there not popular with most otherwise there would be more of them around. Would like to hear your reasons though. I am being serious.
  17. Ok. I just got off the phone to raaus. That's how easy it is to get the facts. What I thought was wrong. All endorsements on your certificate remain valid with a single bfr. 2 axis and 3 axis alternate as stated by blue.
  18. There are plenty of people flying and restoring old rag and tube aircraft. It's a good hobby
  19. I will ring raaus today and get the information direct off them.
  20. I never said it came from casa. I said they are under pressure from casa to lift their game. They might have looked at this and decided there might be a comeback on them if their is an accident.
  21. Plenty of changes have been happening with no advertising
  22. I think it will be true because raa are under pressure from casa to lift their game after all the drama a while back. It actually makes some sense. If you have taildragger endorsement but buy a nose wheel and do all your flying in that then how can raa be sure that you can handle a taildragger if you haven't been flying one for the last 2 years . You will have to decide what endorsement you want to keep it do the bfr for both .
