  2. apologies if this has already been posted

  4. i would have thought if you had a small tallywacker you would be inclined not to wear an aviator watch if it advertised the fact. thats why i don't wear one.😁
  5. its something you only do once.
  6. I imported the first Optica, G-BMPN, to Australia for the company I worked for at the time and did quite a bit of flying in it. So that became VH-BMC and the person who bought it (Mr Waterhouse I guess, can't remember) also bought a second one. what was your impression of it. did you like flying it.
  7. who is ron and why are you suing him.
  8. this one from aircraft spruce looks good but i don't know if i can fit a different tacho to a certified ac
  9. that is the advantage for me if i buy new from jabiru, they will set the new tach up to match the original. and the price is better than most i found online.
  10. i was told it might not work by jabiru parts bloke. he said sometimes the new tachs don't work with the original sensor. maybe the sensors were faulty themselves.
  11. the tecnam and eurofox trainers at latrobe valley always ran avgas until the mogas tank was installed. didn't bother them at all.
  12. Quantas landed a plane at telfa once for some reason. I was told they even extended the airstrip to get it out of there. Quantas sent the mine staff a pallet of beer for their help.
  13. Must have been some wrong calculations do you think.
  14. not sure where you got this from.
  15. I will post it if they can repair it. Might be a while though. Jabiru is $470 for a new tacho but the kicker is if the old sensor won't work with it a new one to suit is another $270.
  16. No. This was Ansett regional Perth to Kalgoorlie flight.
  17. i Remember once at kalgoorlie an ansett jet landed and the engines shutdown when they turned to taxi back to the terminal. had to get towed. they cut that pretty fine.
  18. they are the vdo repair agents. you don't tell someone to come back in 2 weeks then in 2 weeks tell them the end of the month. i will buy a new tacho but i think i will still drop the old one off . see if they can fix that one so i have a spare.
  19. punkinhead are still going, don't know if the lady still owns it.
  20. how did you verify the cranking speed. are you sure the reading was correct. you have to get to 300 rpm for the ignition to fire although if it starts ok warm that probably rules the starter out.
  21. hi mate. no good so far. i rang yesterday and they said they couldn't possibly look at it til after the end of the month, after she had already told me they would look at it after 2 weeks. i decided to just get a new one from jabiru rather than wait and be told the same thing again. they are swamped with work at howards. jabiru can now get the hours programmed into the new tacho too which is something i wanted to do as well.
  22. my point is are raaus moving further away from their grass roots.
  23. this is one of the best posts i have read on here. i can't even imagine what it would be like when he shut 2 engines down.
  24. at the risk of being shot down . i have to ask is there a reason raa pilots need to enter controlled air space. would the pilots that need to do that be better off transitioning to ga. i don't know. just putting it out there because every time raa gain something extra it also moves further away from the affordable rec flying that the auf stood for.
  25. Which aircraft is a fake wannabe
