  1. yes. but i thought putting power and earth to it should light up the hour meter. maybe not. i don't know anything about it. i think i will send it off and get it looked at.
  2. 😁just realised i replied to a 19 year old post
  3. On the news they said it went through a fence. Not like them to get it wrong.😁
  4. It went through the fence. Probably what flipped it. Just a guess , would love to know the whole story.
  5. looked like one wing broke off, now it will be jabiruted
  6. I have the tacho on the bench. I get nothing when I put power direct to the terminals. The problem is in the tacho itself.
  7. i notice on this one the needle will flick up for a second when you apply power then its dead. and the hours don't come on. do think it might be just a power problem.
  8. its the tacho jabiru use . it won't be anything special. they would be an off the shelf diesel unit. 2 of you have mentioned howard. might give them a ring.
  9. i have a vdo tacho that is not working in the jabiru. it runs off a sensor on the flywheel. it has the inbuilt hour meter as well. Can anyone tell me if it can be repaired. it doesn't power up. i would hate to throw it out if its just a dry solder joint or something simple. a new one is $440 which does not bother me. its the loss of the recorded hours i would like to save.
  10. 😁 you told me we are not allowed to joke on this site. 😁
  11. heard a radio report before about a plane going through a fence and ending up on its roof at baccus marsh this morning. pilot treated at the scene. Brendan doesn't have a shift key on his device.
  12. Got no flying trips to report at the moment . So I thought I would post some pics of the Jabiru I am getting ready to fly. Hopefully within a few weeks. Found a fair bit of work to do . But it has good bones. Have to repair or replace the exhaust. Carb heat flap is seized. Lots of cleaning and painting but it is getting there. Should be a nice plane. 600 hrs on engine . 1600 on airframe. It's a may 2004 build which would be one of the last LSA 55 s I think
  13. And with group g you can be ra or ga in a Cessna 150. There is no one left to represent ultralights any more. its evolution i suppose. people like to buy the aircraft they learn in . not much training done in rag and tube now.
  14. Lots of 2 seat 503 geminis . Dangerously under powered for 2 people.
  15. what happens if you have a ppl and fly a vh gazelle . do you still have to do all that to fly an raa reg gazelle. there are also overlapping aircraft with group g.
  16. ok, i understand , i thought you mean't it was part of the conversion.
  17. why would tailwheel be included . its a seperate endorsement.
  18. i think i read somewhere it was designed for low ground pressure for soft ground. maybe summer alaska.
  19. piper cubs had a setup like that on some of them
