    It might only be ten bucks but it adds up quick when you are training or practising touch and goes. I believe they are discouraging people from practising what they have learnt in flight school

    yes. a friend's young boy pulled the cord on an electric deep fryer , it came off the bench and poured over his head. terrible thing for his mother to witness. he was in and out of hospital for years, probably still is.

    I know an instructor that was getting charged double landing fees. The cameras at each end were getting him on touch and goes. Avdata being what they are just billed him anyway . They must have reckoned he was doing 30 second Circuits

    You really have no idea about avdata. They are always billing people for mistakes they make. And no airfield has a right to charge someone a landing fee for passing 9000 ft overhead. They are only affected if you enter their circuit .

    Parking metres don't send invoices to people for airports they have not even been to or been billed for over flying at 9000 ft.

    If you ever operated or worked on caterpillar equipment you would have seen the marks on the dipstick for checking the oil while the engine is running. And hot at the same time

    i did flightless flights up and down the airstrip on saturday. it just wouldn't leave the ground.

    i don't think he was having a go at your comment. more about how they sludged up so much. another place i worked at had a nissan 720 that was just as bad as the hilux for sludge.

    aren't there any zenith builder forums you could ask the question on. there must be plenty of info from people building the same aircraft.

    a Bunyip sold on facebook last year in bendigo. it was all set up on a custom trailer. $2000. better in a museum than the air though.

    i had a hilux work ute on a minesite years ago. it only ran up and down from the workshop to the pit so it never had any decent runs at op temp. a couple of times when i changed the oil i could hold the oil filter upside down with no oil coming out it would sludge up so bad. we would idle it on a mix of diesel and oil for 20 minutes then drop that and put new filter and fresh oil in. off it would go for another few weeks.

    I know it's not the recommended way but it works the same. I do agree pulling through by hand is the way to check compression. I ever said you came down in the last shower unless the last shower was a really really really really really really really long time ago 😀

    It works fine unless you have the combo mag and start key switch

    Hit the starter for a few seconds with mags off that will burp it I always did it by hand until an instructor showed me that trick

    that was a terrible loss. i had the option to buy that jabiru before it went to the oaks. wish i had now. it just shows how dangerous our hobby can be. wrong place at the wrong time is all it takes.
