I only have one alias which is my real name. How does it help safety when you come on here talking crap about 2 mt backfires and saying we are using filters not fit for purpose when they are designed for Rotax and have a part number for each model. Aren't you the same bloke who defended finemores dragging a trailer for 65km with all the tyres blown . Look at yourself before you make up stories about others.

i haven't made judgement of you. just pointed out you can be guilty of exactly what you accuse us of. but i do agree things can come across as agressive when that is not the intention, keyboards don't convey emotion very well. i am guilty of pulling your chain, only because you bite so well. i will try and stop doing it. but everything you said about that gyro was wrong. (sorry i slipped back into my old ways😁)

worked with a shotcrew boss once that had been fifo cairns to the new guinea highlands somewhere. he had been in 24 runway excursions over his time there. touchdown and slide into the bush or off the strip. sometimes a meter of rain a day. -
Can you please post a list of requirements for a post to be satisfactory for you. You are bullying moneybox . There is no need to carry on at him the way you have on this thread. And look at the replies you posted to me yesterday about that gyro. I think you need to man up and apologise for your behaviour.

K&n filters are good quality as far as I know.

You do realise they have layers of cotton between the mesh outer layers.

Cone air filters are used a lot on Rotax . They would be spark arrestors as well. If your aeroplane is shooting out 2 mt flames you might want to do a tune up😁

I needed a high performance endorsement for the red one because red is 10 percent faster than other colours. Look at any Ferrari.

its all automatic. you push the stick and off you go. jumpstart gyros have been around for 60 years. not showing off or dangerous. this mculloch had jump start in 1962. very successful machine and sought after even today. and a gust of wind has almost no effect. gyros fly when fw are grounded.

They have slightly adjustable rotor pitch. Spin up rotors to 500 rpm at 0 pitch then tilts the rotors 4 degrees for lift off at the same time it disengages the prerotator because you can't have any rotational torque after the wheels leave the ground.

It doesn't effect me. I don't have a 912 but I do know people that run them like that with no issues. But maybe there cowls get lots of airflow so temp is not much more than ambient.

there are a lot of cowled 912s running cone air filters straight on the carbs with no issues at all. i don't think anyone is saying your wrong but all the engines out there having no issues makes it hard to argue.

i learn't today that rotax do make airboxs, i always thought that sort of stuff was made to suit .

i doubt that aluminium airbox is a rotax product. i may be wrong but bolt ons like that are usually made to suit the installation by the installer of the engine.
