facthunter Posted Tuesday at 09:49 AM Posted Tuesday at 09:49 AM Brendan I've owned 3 aircraft a Citabria 7ECA a Fisher Horizon 2 and a Piper twin Commanche and can get a go in a Plane any time I wish but don't have the Money as I would want to pay . If I listed what I've flown it wouldn't fit the Space provided and I shouldn't have to anyhow. It would look like i was big noting myself and I don't go for that and detest SNOBS. I am NOT a non Pilot EITHER and how that got there was not of my doing. I've not done anything about it. Because I didn't know some would try to make a BIG DEAL about it. This section of the Forum is for ALL aircraft Pilots. That's fairly inclusive. No one should feel excluded OR afraid to ask a Question. here. Laughing when one of my Posts is deleted is pretty Ordinary also. There's Plenty of Posts that have been deleted before Mine was. Mine was only in self defense.. Nev

skippydiesel Posted Tuesday at 11:16 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 11:16 AM Using ERSA alone, I am challenging anyone to have a go (no efb shortcuts, just the official ERSA entry) and report back. I would be intersted in the experince of anyone trying to find the Landing Fees (etc) for Canberra. You know the one , the airport for our National Capitol. How long did it take you? What steps (phone calls, web sites, etc)? 😈

What engine did it run? What would you compare it to? And just to keep with the topic... could you read the ERSA with the doors off? (I used to own a Fisher FP-202 Koala) 2 1

danny_galaga Posted Tuesday at 11:00 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:00 PM Only just noticing this thread now (I think, memory like a sieve 😄) There's too many pages to go through, but in the first few. Someone mentioned getting charged for a touch and go. That actually seems reasonable to me, as you have literally used the airfield. What's the legal status of that?

To the best of my understanding; Your wheels touch the airfield ground - you pay No contact (go round) - no pay For the latter, I surest there be no doubt, as to there being no ground contact ie be well above the strip. 😈 1

BurnieM Posted yesterday at 06:28 AM Posted yesterday at 06:28 AM They would have a hard time establishing that is a reasonable charge in court and they probably know it. So refuse to pay and advise in writing the airport owner and Avdata. If there are legitimate charges on your Avdata bill make sure you pay them excluding the b/s charges. 1

I don't even pay the legitimate charges listed anymore. If an airport wants to outsource their invoicing to a company that can't generate a true and correct invoice - and then refuses to remove the BS charges - they won't get paid, simple as that. I'm done dealing with the parasites at Avdata and having to argue the point about where I have landed and where I haven't. Avdata themselves appear to indicate they have no power to actually enforce the collection - instead inferring 'airport owners may deny you use of the facilities'. That'd be an interesting argument with my local as I'm entitled to an annual landing fee there as a grandfathered clause from way-back-when, yet AvData insist on charging for every landing. Now, if an individual airport *cough* Gladstone *cough* wants to reach out and ask "Hey, KR, you gonna pay your landing fees?" and I explain why I haven't, but will happily do so if they invoice me directly and they do then they get paid that afternoon. I've no problems with legitimate charges, even if I firmly believe Council-run airports shouldn't charge private flyers landing fees at all. Last I looked, there's no toll booth into most towns... Till then? Sorry, not sorry... 2 2
skippydiesel Posted yesterday at 07:47 AM Author Posted yesterday at 07:47 AM I would encourage all private pilots, who happen to be charged for something they did not do (Land) or billed for a service that was not listed in ERSA, to ignore demands for payment. I contend that you can not be charged for a service you did not use or had no knowledge of the charge, BEFORE receiving the service. You as the consumer/pilot should not be expected to go hunting for airfield access fees ie the fee schedule should be posted in an easily access able form & location. (ERSA). 😈

Tap an airport once to bring up the airport panel (along with other suggestions) and tap on the panel to bring up more details and links. Tapping twice on the map will only bring up the airport diagram.
coljones Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago An improvement in ERSA, desperately needed, are the locations of loos and GA gates. The price of fuel and availability is part of planning and can be found by ringing the fuel truck from the comfort of a lounge room.
skippydiesel Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago (edited) Hi Coljones, Your point (look in OzRunways or similar) has been made several times before. As I said then and now repeat; The landing fee information should be readily available to all, with or without an EFB, computre, telephone. The logical & reasonable place to post/find the information is in ERSA. I believe it's the Law, that service /good providers, must post fees/charges information, in such a way that the consumer (pilot) will see it, without the need for further action / investigation - post in ERSA. There are a small number of airfield owners, who do post their fees in ERSA - its not hard to do. I find it quite extraordinary that I need to ask for this basic service/courtesy - post your fees in ERSA. (Did you try and find Canberra's Landing Fees, just using ERSA?) 😈 Edited 14 hours ago by skippydiesel 1
Reynard Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I found this interesting….. https://www.aerodromeit.com.au/simple/landingfees Primarily use ADS-B data for landing fees, then radio calls when there is no ADSB. Also a suggestion to close cross-runways so councils can sell access to let farmers make hay instead ! is this lot a competitor to AvData ? 2

They can monitor the actual use of individual runways and can suggest to councils if a runway is not used much, then just flog it off. 1 1
