But RAAus must product their OWN training manual, even IF they plagiarise the content from somewhere else? For their Controlled Airspace Endorsement Training?

First up RAAus are only reading THEIR room, not ours? GA may well move to MOSAIC in the US because there is more money there, than there is here? Let me say that CASA are not interested at all in MOSAIC, simply because they don’t have the staffing level and budget, to create the platform for it in Australia. CASA is currently behind on many of its projects that should have long been finalised? I don’t see them taking on anything extra in the way of workload especially what MOSAIC would present? Consider for access to controlled airspace is going to require TSO spec instruments, and appropriate endorsements, which I do not know if there is even a manual for that endorsement training by RAAus? RAAus have a lot of things to work on, including their new Online examination system for student pilots, like everything it will probably have some bugs to iron out which is understandable but all this, takes time.

RAA are busy badgering CASA for MOSAIC, so the whispers from the CASA basement say? Interesting that Group G has gone quiet?

Turbs, every week I speak to many people on the telephone, some within organisations, I get direct messages and all sorts of things from very knowledgeable people in Aviation. I don’t only count the forum, as a source of information, but I’ll take notice of what people tell me directly in conversation consequently, you begin to understand that some of the comments I make here are relation to information that I’ve received from people in the course of those phone conversations. Being an appointed member on one of the SAAA committees has also given me a good insight to our Aviation World.

Recreational Aviation is headed in a direction to become a clandestine hobby in many ways. ALAs will be the airstrips of choice, fly-ins will be by personal invitation, a recent Qld one saw a few unregistered aircraft turn up, ex RAAus members. As financial pressure increases by Councils/Developers? It will see people reevaluate how they structure their Aviation pursuits?

Yes, I forked out to buy 2 tubes for the main gear tyres on my Jabiru 230D. They were $245 each plus freight. i was told by a fellow Aviator, I got ripped off, under $50 each from Bunnings Aerospace? I simply said, I am not flying a freaking ride-on mower🤩

Well, I go on the phone discussions I have, things are not rosy at RAAus? BUT, I think it’s everywhere. People are suffering cost of living pressures? Some organisations are bound to lose memberships, subscriptions etc. At the end of the day, plans need to be made in tough times for organisations to keep going. Jacking up fees will only hasten their demise as people seek alternatives, or drop out all together? From the grapevine I hear, numbers of unreg aircraft flying, are increasing all the time? No current RAAus membership means, member aircraft is unregistered?

People in the U.S. are doing a lot with Briggs and Stratton V Twins? Not big horsepower, but useable for some?

Plenty of two-stroke motors still around and people who want to fly them? The word below 500 feet is , that many people are going to drop out of RAA but simply continue to fly, unregistered ?

It’s a thankless task, But those who have taken the positions know a lot of its history, where it’s come from and trying to plan where it needs to go and I’m not so sure that that could be in a direction beneficial to members? They have left their Rag and Tube roots behind, and they’re trying to work towards the super plastic fantastic’s, and be the NEW GA? AND, RAAus are lobbying CASA for MOSAIC?

Consider that the required instruments will have to be installed by LAME/Level 2 into the RAAus rego aircraft, and probably will need calibration check every two years to be eligible? Skyecho not useable? because ATC cannot see them? Now for VH Experimental registered aircraft, any SAAA Member who has completed the latest MPC course, and received CASA authority to work on their own aircraft, can fit their own transponder and any other devices required, to enter controlled airspace in their aircraft, This will be a big money saving aspect for them?

Also consider an emergency maybe declared due to a drastic change in weather, not included in any forecast and an emergency diversion and landing could be subject to that instance and be a declared emergency? So who’s going to do an in-depth investigation on that situation and be proven to be against the PIC?

The only time I will ask for access to Controlled Airspace is when I declare a PIC determined legitimate Emergency? I won’t need ANY endorsement, NO transponder, No RAAus authority/training. Will I get refused? In this dumb country, probably ??

Flying Schools who already have RAA Training accreditation simply need to abide by the new amendments to the RAA manual to meet the training requirements? Just recently I was told flying schools now have to pay a new fee, flying school told me it’s another money grab by RAA, he is thinking of giving the game away.

I wonder if flying schools will be charged money to gain their accreditation to carry out the controlled airspace endorsement training?

In which case they should be published on the council website just like there garbage disposal fees at their landfill stations. If enough people ring these councils up they may begin to get the message but it’s easier to brush off just one or two inquiries but if no one‘s gonna bother to take the time and collectively do something together for the better good of us all. Why because Australians are inherently lazy and only care about themselves🤢
