  9. It's a bit of a trap using a penetrant/ Lubricant with rivetted Joins/ laps. I'm 100% with RF Guy There. Those Joints should Be Bonded at assembly for Longer life and strength . The Fokker F 27 was built under Licence in the USA By Fairchild and had wing failures. Something Not experienced by the Redux bonded Dutch Built versions. SALT environment and Using a corrosive Paint stripper is a problem also with Lap joints. Keep your plane Hangared and away from the Beach. Nev
  10. Insulation is VERY critical Underground . Above ground it's achieved by the distance to an Earth The wires are not Covered. Very high voltages reduce transmission losses and Have Less AMPS but require More distance from an earth to avoid ARCING . There can also be capacitance losses. Wires are cooled by the Air. Transformers are also ( usually through OIL.) Companies in the game Know the relative costs. As wires heat up they droop lower. Usually in response to AMBIENT temps and sunlight. Not load. Above ground has Lightning Protection these days to protect against damage to household items by Over voltage Houses should have Lightning protection in their Own Right. I Installed about 180 Metres of Underground cable to my House when I built it ( Multi Phase), But I doubt it's worth the cost and trouble. Nev

  12. Some of those degreasers are full OF CAUSTIC and salt air will cause That type of corrosion as well. Clean it off with a fine brass wire brush and etch Prime it. There are also approved Aluminium surface Preparations for Aircraft use Soap and hot water are OK for Cleaning the engine. If there's any oil around use Kerosene which Hoses OFF with water OK. When dry, a light Mist with WD can Help reduce corrosion and make things easier to Undo. Nev

  15. Pressures and Temps Please. You COULD have a crook pump, bearing(s) with excess clearance or a faulty Relief Valve. IF it's always related to temps and rev's I'd rule out the Indication aspect.   19. That's the standard atmosphere difference from MSL. Actual rate may differ, The higher the rate the More unstable the atmosphere is. ie a rising parcel of air will keep rising. Nev

  21. As well as the sensor you have to do something about it. Lean mixture can promote it as well as over advanced Ignition timing and LUBE oil. An oil burner can KNOCK prematurely.. Nev

  23. Good idea to have them. Knock destroys engines. A loose plug can cause it Or a wrong heat range one. Overheated Motor or dud fuel. Too much boost. Incandescant carbon build up etc. Nev

  25. Fuel flow Meters and fuel used information is VERY handy. Calculate endurance remaining in Minutes when convenient. Always have that in the back of your Mind. REDUCE by the reserve if you work that way.. Fuel gauges are often all over the Place in some set ups.. Nev
