  1. Maybe flat spin with fuel venting. Perhaps the Tail separated. It has 4 turbo prop engines( visible) . Nev
  2. Won't be applicable to U/L's for a while YET. Nev
  3. NOW you have qualified it. Thanks. Nev
  4. Timing is everything with weed control. Get them Before they seed. Hot steam will kill them Just after they shoot. Very environmentally Friendly. There's an OLD saying. ONE years Seeding SEVEN years weeding. Plough it up, and NEW seeds will take over unless there's no rain or you don't treat them at the right time, Weed control IS a BIG issue and an exact Science. Herbicides are POISON. Glyphosate is Now in everything including breast milk. Thanks to genetically Modified Glyphosate resistant CROP seeds being used widely all over the world and the crop being saturated with Glyphosate to control any Weeds. Monsanto's Brilliant Idea. Nev
  5. Not really good advice to put out there, without qualification,. Nev
  6. Pilot's have a smoother approach. (It is said). I think it's the Uniform. Nev
  7. I understand they weren't, and therein lies the Problem. Professional Plots Have it in their work contracts, if they can organise it. Nev
  8. Lotus Europa? Nev
  9. Well, it HAS to be covered somehow. The Flying schools are Not making squillions and never will. The potential Liability is too High to Guarantee RAAus can cover it. Nev
  10. It's SHE'll be right Mate. Hymns in church. Nev
  11. It's much more than a few degrees. It's around 30C at 480 Knots/ Mach.82. Nev
  12. Provided it is done correctly. That's the Point. Nev
  13. I just mentioned some of the factors about the hostile environment up there that Most passengers in their Pressurised and heated cabin are blissfully unaware of. Nev
  14. At Minus 56 C you'd not want to Linger Longer. You'd have to watch Flutter.. The air is thin and IAS is well below TAS.. How brittle are some of the Elements of the Structure? What happens when the coolant freezes. The engine won't be putting out much Heat. Nev
  15. I would have used the grass as Keeping straight is all but impossible No runway that Narrow would be APPROVED ANYWHERE. Dropping of the edge could damage brakes, tyres or wheel covers as well as directional control difficulties. Nev
  16. Seems a Pretty Plain system with No expansion chambers I don't think length is critical but someone can Measure theirs. Use thin wall tube for weight saving. 2 into 1 to go underneath, fairly long before it Joins. at small included angle. The cylinders are staggered so expect some vibration, I'd go for an absorbtion Muffler. You might fit a spark arrestor if there's Grass around (Krizmann?) There was plenty of USA ones at one time but in California 2 strokes have been banned. Nev
  17. YOU argue All the time!........... NO I Don't.............. You are still doing it NOW. Nev
  18. But exceptionally SHORT if you look at it that way. Nev
  19. No, a fuel TANK rupture would entail Major wing deformation and would just stream out and Possibly not even catch fire. More likely the fuel Manifolding damaged with fuel pump pressure applying, RAPID flowrate. Fuel tanks are not pressured. Nev
  20. Pretty silly being right on the edge. Nev
  21. ALWAYS remember that with controls crossed a stall can quickly become a spin. You can never be TOO Good. ALL planes and Pilots have their Limits. A high level of coordination and situational awareness is essential in Limit situations. Nev
  22. It IS worthwhile to get a PROPER test and the right Kit for you, I was a Sceptic for a long while. I was watching TV in my room last Night with the aids on This morning without Aids and the sound left where it was #9. I could really not hear it at all. I had to go to #34 TO HEAR IT . BIG difference. Nev
  23. You CERTAINLY CAN'T "relax" feet on the rudder. SLIP to contact reduces side loads on the Undercarriage when Judged correctly. Sideloads, Particularly on a TW are going to CAUSE YAW as the wheels are forward of the CofG. Crabbing is wings level as when flying anywhere with enough crab to "MAKE GOOD" the required track. This could also be the Extended Runway centreline, when on approach. Crab and then Kick straight is what I would consider the More NORMAL way to do it particularly with Heavier Higher inertia planes. Lighter Low inertia and stall speed Planes are a bit different where landing on one wheel slowly at contact the Best way. If you ground loop it's only at a low speed with TW and with tri gear you make sure the Nosewheel doesn't contact first, OR you might end up upside down. Make sure the INTO WIND wing does not rise as you kick it straight. It's a COMMON fault as you will observe on You tube. Nev
