.......closet Comic Reader. [Turbo probably shouldn't have revealed that, because he has never let his wife know, but this is an emergency.
To give NES readers some understanding of what this emergency has done to people only 11 hours into Day One of Stage 3, Turbo's adult cousin has posted a photo of himself with his partner forming eyeglasses with her fingers. Turbo was enthralled by this for a couple of hours.
Even more momentous, Turbo received a Like on Facebook for a comment he made 9 years ago in relationship to a political highway issue, and wept for a few minutes.
However this story is about more important things like Een's habit.
Turbo hesitates to write this, but his vaourite comic was Mickey Mouse. Not many people know this but he was a Downunder Mickey Mouse, and wenty on to be.............[these are nor full stops]

The number of COVID-19 cases detected in W.A. has been falling for 3 days now. Over 30% of the COVID-19 cases in W.A. have come from cruise ships, or people returning from overseas by air.
There doesn't appear to be any serious spread in the general population of W.A., obviously due to the shutting of establishments where people congregated, the distancing rules, and the quarantining of people who have returned from overseas.
Another more positive sign in Victoria (Source: The Age, 9:09 pm)

There is now no need to go to the State/Territory Health sites to find out that private/recreational flying is closed.
We have moved to Stage 3, and only these four activities are permitted from 11:59 tonight.
1. Essential shopping
2. Exercise ( with limitations)
3. Essential Medical visits (Doctor/Chemist)
4. Work or Education if that is deemed necessary.
So Zero flying.

Hummm! - Our leaders persist in viewing this as an economic disaster caused by a health problem WRONG!!! this is a health issue first second & thirds, with economic ramifications (which do need to be addressed but are secondary to the main battle front).
Just for your reassurance the Commonwealth and States, acting together as the National Cabinet have pursued two policies at the same time:
1. Saving as many lives as possible
2. Keeping everyone in Australia financially afloat/or providing financial support
Separate teams are working on each.

For the record, I am appalled that parliament has been suspended for 5 months. In exceptional times it is imperative that decisions made "in the national iterest" be subjected to scrutiny in full gaze of "we the people" and I condemn the Labor Party for not objecting ferociously to this travesty.
I accept that a fair percentage of the public have difficulty comprehending what is going on at the moment.
At the outbreak of WW2 the Australian Prime Minister was caught in the UK, so he worked in the British Cabinet for a time as they frantically worked for suvival.
We aren't facing something as grave as that, but the nature of this virus is that it is fast moving and a bit like a fire in that, some of the early outbreaks in some countries looked to be under control only to flare into huge outbreaks still going.
The bottom line is that there is no time for the normal Parliamentary process schedule. The stand out example is TeleHealth, which would take 10 years to deliver with the normal checks and balances delivered in ten days, which effectively allows virtual diagnosis for unlimited health issues against the 10 or 11 which could be processed to date, speeding up the health systems ability to treat pateients and at the same time proptecting the health professionals who have become the most valuable members of our society.
I tried the get the message across here that the Westminster system was still working in Australia, even though the debate wasn't necessarily taking place in the Parliaments, when I commented on one initiative where a Labor Minister addressed this very issue by saying simply. "It doesn't need to go through Parliament, we've approved it."
I'm hugely impressed by the efforts of people like Anthony Albanese, Richard Marles, Chris Bowen (Shadow Minister for Health), and Dr Jim Chalmers (Shadow Treasurer). These people have to job of making sure that decisions of huge importance are the correct decisions, and you only have to look at their faces to see that they know the seriousness of what they are doing.
As for condemning the Labor Party, they are the majority Party in the National Cabinet and have done an outstanding job. Daniel Andrews in particular has kept "the people" informed day by day for months about the decisions made.
I'm sure the majority of the people on this site are focused on survival for their families and themselves, and that's reflected in every State where the majority of the people have acted promptly as their leaders have introduced extreme changes to save their lives, and the majority of the people have spoken, by backing their leaders. As a result Australia is controlling this virus and saving a bigger percentage than many other countries.

....scribbled a Sing, Sing, Sing commercial for his group the Four NursingHome Preps ©, whose day was divided between racing for the dining room when the bell went, and singing old songs to entertain the customers, who frequently requested Al Jolson numbers, especially Een.
Video of the FNHP in action with Brine on the left.
Note the grimace as he tries to reach the high notes (which sadly flew out his window in 1954) at 1:21, just before that great old song Big Man, where Loxie loses his teeth (the shot had to be edited out on the grounds that it could distress some people).
Turbo on the flute and Captain on piano, showing his slick fingers. Later that night he was caught with his hand in the strings.

Certainly not I..and it seems to me Methusala was expressing an opinion, not making a statement of fact. It’s about perceptions Turbs.
"expressing an opinion?" "perception?"
That's not going to cut it.
Apalling slurs are being cast against the people going their hardest to save lives.

Are you suggesting that our Chief Medical Officer, the person we’re relying on to save us is a Big Pharma criminal?

.......more than knocking on the door and saying: "Excuse me Sir, are you still alive?"
It could be worse though; One moring Captain asked "What's that noise like car tyres screeching. and clanking"
"If we get a Negative" [averf] said the bellhop "we come in with Haz suits, grab the body and chuck it down the fire chute, where it slides into a dumpster."
For once the Captain was lost for words, and .........................

Our Chief Medical Officer made it quite clear yesterday in answer to a question from the press, that what might be going on in the rest of the world needs to be taken with a grain of salt because each country had a different lead up, diffent stages of early action, different policies which will produce different trajectories, some good some bad, and different outcomes.
We have adopted a high testing regime, which allows pockets to be tracked and targeted as well as the across the board starving the virus by separation.
So definitions by people in overseas countries, or what the Guardian or Social Morons might be predicting, while possibly entertaining, are not likely to be as important to our well-being as the progressive action from day to day of our collective State/Territory and Commonwealth Medical Officer team. There hasn't been much mention of that team, but I'm getting the impression it's probably more than 50 specialists. Their discussions and decisions emerge through the State/Territory and National Chief Medical Officers.
However, for those desperate for definitions, coefficients, equations and components which lead to the case data being published day by day, the Deputy Chief Medical Officer said they intend to be transparent, and will publish all the components in a couple of days.

The cautious story from the PM, Premier and Victoria's Chief Medical Officer is that the growth slowed in Victoria yesterday, but that it is based on test results per 100,000 and they can jump around. When doubling is what you are trying to prevent, these dips are like a second go at getting a goal.
Also there will be a big boost in ventilator production, and there it Octave's link above to the Shepparton mask factory which is ramping up production with the help of Defence personnel.

.......knocks out the oxymorons around the place.
The tests were successful, and the Captain started recording his own ads and broadcasting from home. He was dressed as a pirate (which NES readers would realise was the most appropriate dress he'd ever worn.
With a suitable gravelly voice the ad expounded of the virus killer "Snaitizer" with the tag lines "Not just hand Sanister, you can DRINK it and kill the bug!". It was selling for 99 cents a bottle plus postage (which was $11.48), with the second tag line "50% of proceeds going to Charity"
Charity of course was his old Commodore Ute which was filling up fast.
His third tag line "TGA approved." It wasn't of course, nothing ever was in Cappy's snake oil life.
It wasn't long before he received a visit from a TGA Inspector, and they are nasty bastards.[CASA ref]

If you’re prepared to donate your blood, we could run it through an encabulator to stratify and condense it. If that was injected into a Consular staff member he could probably tell if he’d been injected.

Why would the Chief Medical Officer be considered Independent of the PM? Anyone appointed and capable of being sacked by the same person/authority will never be Independent to provide his own (assumed Medical) views. .IF you think this has all been done well you are easily pleased. It's politicised to the hilt.. Nev
I’d suggest you take a look at the status of the Chief Medical Officer of Australia and of Victoria and it shouldn’t be too hard the find where Health powers shift. For example when a State of Emergency is declared the CMOs get more powers and then when things get more serious the CMOs get more powers again. Nothing to do with being politicised.

I really would welcome some signs of an awakening of a political consciousness in you after all of the discussions you've taken part in here. I guess that 'hope springs eternal".
The statistics are fully public and undeniable that wealth has continued to concentrate in fewer hands and that the gap between better off and the poor is actually accelerating. This is what I and many others recognise as the great ponzi scheme. Please keep up.
Well you and “many others” might have to have another look at the definition of a Ponzi scheme; it’s not complicated and not related to the present government nor the Coronavirus.

Wrong! An economy will always exist as, by definition, it is the mechanism for transfer of goods and services between people. 'The Economy' Facthunter is referring to is the ponzi scheme, devised over 40 tears ago by Milton Friedman and the Chicago School of Economics and others, as a rip-off, which Morrison supports, designed to transfer wealth to a small number of oligarchs. This positions these interests above the interests of ordinary citizens. Health should be the only consideration in this crisis and going hard and early is the way to protect the maximum numbers of citizens. Where do hairdressers and personal trainers fit into such a model?
The Ponzi scheme is easily proved and is illegal in Australia. I've never seen even the slightest hint of Scott Morrison supporting that crime.
Hairdressers and Personal Trainers were put on the essential list by the Chief medical Officer for mental health reasons.

I hadn’t realised my posts were so important to the Chinese government. Apparently ah will change the world..... I’m chuffed...?
turboplanner, you do realise that we is posting on an obscure ultralight forum..? ......?
You should be safe; the word crunching computers that search for say Trump's words around the world total them by country, assess if there's any popularity slide etc would have picked up your repeated words, but checked the number of repeats and the grammatical train wreck and not reported them in the Australia figures.
