Changes, which may have included other documents/deleted other documents, or may have included different data or wording have been updated to March 5, 2020. Queenslanders are supposed to be adhering to this document in its latest update version.

I did see a directive from the Qld Chief Medical Officer where he stated that riding motorcycles was a form of exercise and that fishing was a form of passive exercise, and as such both were permissible under the current regulations. Social distancing still to be adhered to at all times. I can't find it atm, but I have seen them both. I wonder if recreational flying could come under the same rules. Either way under social distancing I would translate that to mean only 1 person permitted in a recreational aircraft.

Turbo I do not like your post. A directive to permanently cease all forms of private aviation would save lives however the participants should know the risks and how to mitigate them. The buck stops with the Pilot In Command.

I made a mistake; one person died, the other was injured.

If the aircraft is parked and locked in a hangar, and the pilot is at home, there is no Pilot in Command.

In this case a State of Emergency was enacted in Queensland.

That triggered new Powers for certain people including the Chief Health Officer.

The Qld Chief Health Officer made a Direction (Stage 3) that no one was to leave their house, with 14 exceptions.

The purpose of the Direction was to ensure minimum person to person contact and breathing transfer of the virus and minimum infection from areas frequented by people who may be positive.

The intent was a partial lockdown, still allowing people to go to work, emergemcy services to operate, schools to operate etc, to avoid the much higher cost of total lockdown (Stage 4).

Flying for work (Commercial) would still operate to CASA legislation - The Health intent is for people who can work to work.

So far the general compliance with Stage 3 has been good to the extent that we may not have to go to Stage 4, but there is this leakage in Stage 3 coming mostly from recreational activities using the Dorothy Dix questions.

After wading through the 3 pages of this thread with 2 pages being irrelevant I still don't know what the aircraft was. It apparently took off with 2 persons aboard but the engine developed insufficient power to clear a clump of trees after clipping an aerial phone cable. There was a fire and one person died & the other is in hospital with significant burns. Hopefully the person can recover from the burns. Can anyone enlighten me further?

The question that need's to be answered.

Australia has about 160,000 deaths per year. If Covid kills 50,000 - 100,000 (which it won't) what is the over lap?? This is the truly important number as destroying the economy and peoples lives will result in a lot more deaths. A healthy economy = money for a health hospital system.

We currently have 91 ICU patients lucky we locked down.
