Also means 'technical standard order' e.g. TSO'd instruments etc per FAA.

Great use for a cat! Fun to annoy dogs with too! On a larger scale a pig-copter visiting the neighbours could be entertaining, get the turbans whining.

Howdy there Paul & welcome! Eurofox taildragger sounds fun, love to try that one day.

OK so you can't mount it on a flexible arm (one of those off-the-shelf gooseneck things)?

I've asked this (I'm not keen on Apple) and been told it is not on the cards.

Believe it or not that is a fairly common name in Iran.http://www.theage.com.au/digital-life/hometech/slash-your-power-bill-by-10-20120530-1zir9.htmlIn the article the female co-inventor's christian name is, ummmmmmmmm................ -
That man gives the most outstandingly informative maintenance talks I have heard, very detailed but practical.Jetjr, Thanks for the suggestion re Wayne johns. Will give him a ring, but have no budget so unless he plans to come anyway, I don't like our chances. I will ask the question. CarolThanks for your work at Natfly Carol; I also am aiming to get to Narromine but it's a bit work dependant so it's an 'aspirational goal' at this stage as they say.

International waters boundary?State "owns" the intertidal zone plus any embayments or inlets. Commonwealth "owns" from low water mark to edge of continental shelf.Reminds me of when I was in central California a few months back, some Green kook in government had severely restricted most of the commercial fishing, in one spot the fleet had gone from 38 boats down to 2. Great if you are a fish - except that a whole bunch of Chinese fishing boats were just a few miles off the coast grabbing anything that moved.

-
Just to be clear the government 'owns' absolutely nothing. It also has no money whatsoever for that matter. Everything is of the people, the citizens of Australia (including the debt they have borrowed in our name unfortunately).
Sometimes it would be an off-field landing for reasons of safety - for example if you were getting tired and needed a short break or had to suddenly er let loose something. Not to mention a sudden change in the weather. Is that not a legitimate reason?

I believe under SAAA with VH reg if you are the builder you are also authorised to do the maintenance of your own amateur build / experimental.Jamie the rules are different if you are registering experimental VH as Gareth is rather than registering with RAA under the CAO 95.55 regulations. Under SAAA & VH experimental you will need to get pre cover inspections done of the airframe & I am unsure how many others up completion & once registered you will be bound by the VH maintenance process which can be expensive. -
Tell me one of them didn't go on the be PM then? ->i had a few cousins that where always kept behind the fence or inside and they have grown up to be pretty useless and are always interferring with things that do not concern them.

(Sorry, late Saturday night and all...)

Good! I was getting bored with the old site - it's like a month old or something?

My thoughts exactly - don't be in a rush to land, just fly along a bit whilst looking a good way off ahead (says he who often tends to land like a Wildebeest). I also enjoy doing glide approaches with no power but only in fairly calm conditions of course....leave a little power on and fly along the strip.... I think I used to have this mentality of "i'm over the piano keys, time to land" which was screwing me up.After a couple of hundred circuits I reckon you'll have it pretty sweet Jenkin, then start on taildraggers.

Were there two skydivers?

Well I think the SAAA are. It's a tiny organisation on a shoestring budget compared to the EAA of course but they have a similar system in place. The big drawcard for the NTSB is the extremely high number of first flight accidents and then into the next ten hours or so mostly involving high performance homebuilts. Now why can't we be more proactive like the EAA? When the FAA and NTSB ask, the EAA reply with 'doing it already.' -
Oh it won't fly of course - but that is for his benefit as you say. Still a good achievement, they should make him president of the USA or something the current one can't get the economy to float much less something to fly.

I have a heap of nylon flock at work if anyone wants any (assuming nylon would work). I have a flocking machine too, a big box thing that cranks out about 70,000 volts (made in China to no regulations which makes me worry about the insulation quality at times). Or you might be able to get little bits of the flock material from some craft suppliers."Cotton flock" is a fibre material, not a powder. Any good fiberglassing supplyshould have some, but you probably have to buy a bag of it, which would last456,765 rotors.

Top marks for trying; if he could get it here I reckon he deserves to stay for sure, innovative and industrious types are always welcome.

You ride a pink motorbike? Perhaps they lost control through laughing too much!Despite my motorcycles being painted the most visible colours, car drivers put me on the deck several times.
(Sorry, had to say it). Maybe try swords protruding horizontally from the wheel hubs like Boadicea. Or a flamethrower, they command respect.
Re lighting I read a lengthy scientific based article recently which concluded that no amount of lighting helps to any significant degree in the daytime. Seemed surprising.

Your link is correct just that it can't be made to go to the .com website. I'd be interested to know if it works for others here as it doesn't for me - redirects to the popsci.com.au website (which doesn't have this article) whether you want to go there or not. Popsci always does this for me, manual editing the address doesn't work either.
-
Link not working (for me anyway) 80kn. I can rarely get the popsci links to open. They have lots of interesting articles on their US website but the system automatically directs your browser to their AU site which has diddly-squat interesting stories. Anyone know of a way around this without signing up for some complex / slow proxy service?

Yes that is the scary part, happened to Whyalla Airlines and others. The state decides to bankrupt you.
The gall of these people is staggering when you consider how utterly inept and corrupt the federal government itself currently is, no private enterprise could be nearly that bad and survive.

Just talk to yourself in a low voice....Yes but Tommo nobody is ever in it anymore !!..................................................................Maj...

I understood fluoro pink was the most out-standing colour in the sky? Not sure I'd want to fly in such a plane, just saying....

Off airport landings legality

Just seen the Australian governments new tourism ad, seems outlandings and low level flights are now officially OK!
