I like new technology and many geeky ideas are clever but to bust your guts in order to float a few inches for a few seconds doesn't inspire me much. However I'm sure some greenies will hail this as a wonderful technological advance or something, they like windmilly stuff after all (even if a lot of birds get sacrificed). Hey I would become a fan if they made these human powered helicopter devices compulsory for delegate travel to the many climate conferences.
University of Maryland students try for human powered flight prize.
Avgas rocks man! Made from organic materials too....
UPDATE - just noticed there is another forum section for 'rotary wing', not sure which is more appropriate.

Here ya go, air terminal of the future:
Doesn't seem so much interest in bus depots or cruise liner terminals....

It sounded interesting so I had a look on Google and I can see a runway 05.... so I guess 04 would indeed be some fun - grass, beach & the odd shrub perhaps!Agree with Boingk, runway 04 at Moruya is a great departure, you get runway followed by grass, beach, breakers and then ocean.

Yes, looks lovely.

It's in "Trips / Events".
Did you all get Virgin catering sandwiches and cookies for dinner?

I might be missing something obvious here but was the original post mid-way through the actual dinner (8.30pm on 18th June 2012)?

Spent a few weeks in Alaska last year, a fantastic spot to visit with wonderful scenery and a crazy number of light aircraft about.

That's real disappointing Ben, how hard could it be to send you the correct set of plans? I've had some dealings with a Canadian kit supplier who flat-out do not answer any emails once you buy their kit. Then they complain about few sales "due to the GFC".
Hmm.... Corby Starlet?

Can you perhaps start another thread to list what you would like censored or deleted and what you consider fake etc? They way you could cover all the various threads that cause concern.

Yeah, was wondering about that M61. Do you know if it is any worse than the kerosene I would otherwise be using at home or the diesel I would be heating with at work?Be aware that some of the additives are not good for you, especially when burned indoors. -
Running the heaters here on Jet A1, just like the smell!

Great PF! I like Mildura, a good sized terminal & two sealed strips but generally not that busy.

That would be handy out there....Also I usually fly with a current VTC for the area, just in case -
One bit of good news is that the oil price is on the way down - 20% drop in a month although we've not seen that at the bowser yet. Hopefully this will flow through and negate a lot of the extra tax grab. And the worlds known oil reserves have more than doubled just in the last few years so the longer term trend is down especially with the global financial crisis approaching. Also the Middle East is increasingly being sidelined by production elsewhere, good for peace.

My apologies, I thought all the GA schools had left / been kicked out of Canberra - seems there is still one there. I believe it is the least aviation friendly spot in Australia unfortunately.Very happy to recommend Canberra Aviation (www.canberraaviation.com.au) if you're after GA training in Canberra -
Welcome Haydn, sound like a lot of fun.! Just thinking Norfolk Island would be an interesting spot to do nav training - maybe an Auckland leg with return via Brisbane?

He's gotten really fired up of late on his blog such as "I would like to get my hands around her scrawny neck and shake some common sense into her...."
Now Faceplant have temporarily banned him.-

Welcome Andy, yes as f_t says the USA (or NZ or join the airforce) for a helicopter licence, anywhere outside of Canberra for an Ra-Aus certificate or GA PPL.

So the planet will cool slightly more each year then?

What a con.

Perhaps you could post your edited version for the safety of us fools?

Media, Qwontass, unions - I'm not sure which is the least credible from this bunch so yeah I decided not to believe that news snippet also, impossible to figure out what is fact. If Craig Thomson said it on the other hand....

On the jab I guess a really skilful pilot could theoretically do a touch and go with the flat tyre without touching the rim down by keeping the exact amount of pressure on the other wheel? But many of us are not Bob Hoover's unfortunately.
