Thanks for posting David, the baby Gnu's enjoyed it also - pretty much fun for the whole herd.
Golly there is a lot of water about, you would need really hairy legs like north Queensland people to keep the mozzies off.

Get some glider training?
-
Just state that you can't understand and insist that they put someone on that is fluent in English.
-
Howdy flyerme, driven past your property at least half a dozen times so far this year (latest was yesterday at some very late hour in a receding thunderstorm) but not ventured that way above ground level yet....
-
Welcome back Nick! Just curious what sort of distances / locations do your business flights cover?
-
Welcome James! Yep the Skyfox must be a lot of fun...

Sounds scary!I had long red hair in the photo

Oh well, perhaps you are the wrong clan!
Why not start a new thread with your E6-B questions?

Relax Dog, try 'Clansman' on here.... I would think one and the same Paul Smith SI.

In South Africa I've heard if a cop tries to pull you over you keep driving - to the nearest police station. This will sort out if they are genuine cops or not because apparently a good many aren't. Similarly I wouldn't stop for an 'unmarked police car' in Australia, they need to show they are legit first and not car-jackers with a couple of little lights.

Just click on 'reply' on the far right hand side of the page Kiwi. How do you guys do that quote thing from other posts? Then click on 'like' right next to it for Gnu posts.

I noticed when taking regular domestic commercial flights a surprising many of them ended in what I would call a hard landing; dump it down and haul on the brakes. Might not have helped my landings much but to know x,000 hour ATPL level pilots are doing these minimal flare drops onto the tarmac soothes the ego somewhat. Yes I understand in certain weather conditions it helps to plant it a little firmly but I am referring to calm conditions. Maybe generating some work for their LAME buddies...

Is that the same guy that took his legs out wing-suiting in South Africa a few months back?
-
Could you please explain what you mean by this Howard? I think you made cryptic reference to this in the past, an explanation would be helpful if indeed there is some hidden inference here beyond the obvious normal use of a rudder.I think there are only three things you need for a good landing - rudder, rudder and more rudder! -
Welcome also Buster! How about that, I've been there several times (incl just finished a charity job there recently) and never knew Wellington had an airfield... this is Wellington on the Murray right?
-
Howdy Ian and welcome! It's a shame you can't fly from somewhere closer to Canberra, many folk there seem to have this problem.
-
Hope it goes well Phil, pm me if you need any cnc machining done (timber or al sheet) may be able to help out.
-
Welcome Bigfella! Gnu's are also big-ish..... Enjoy your flying!

^ Made in China?

Hey Kiwi if you get this sorted out be sure to let us know, I'd love some lessons in tailwheel etc from an experienced Ag pilot.

Howdy Jeremy! Assuming you fly out of Pallamana there is an RV owner based there who did a coastal trip around Australia just recently.

I would wish you luck Adam but seriously you won't need any. It is a real easy multiple choice test which takes maybe 10 minutes. Just relax and do it! Do the human factors test at the same time if you like, it's even easier. I didn't have time to study for it and still passed fine, just a few common sense questions. Plenty of good information in the excellent John Brandon tutorials on this website if you are not sure.

Well how about that, I've been commuting to Canberra quite a bit and occasionally pick up a free copy of the Commie Times for a giggle and just never realised is was part of the busted-ass Fewfacts stable.... you could buy the whole show if you have a spare buck ft.

I suspect the intended demographic of appeal is already somewhat removed from reality and is rather credulous of anything labelled 'green'. This is not just Canberra but 'Canberra Times' readers.

I also used the Dyson-Holland HF guide, only I started reading it after passing the exam
