A man was sitting at the bar at Mascot Terminal and looked up to notice a really beautiful & smartly dressed woman sitting next to him. He thought to himself: ‘Wow, she’s so gorgeous and it looks like she must be an air hostess. I wonder which airline she works for?’ "I still call Australia home" he says to her. She pulled away from him & gave an ice cold glare. ‘Obviously not with QANTAS’ he thought.

Hoping to pick her up, he leaned towards her and uttered the Delta Airline slogan, "Love to fly and it shows?" She gave him a blank, confused stare and he immediately thought to himself: 'Well, she doesn’t work for Delta.’

A moment later, another slogan popped into his head, so he leaned towards her again and said, "Something special in the air?" She gave him the same confused look, and he mentally kicked himself, while scratching Singapore Airlines off the list.

He thought ‘Well perhaps she works for Thai Airways…’ and said "Smooth as Silk?"

This time the woman turned on him and said, ‘What the **** do you want?’

The man smiled, slumped back on his chair, and said "Ahhhhh, Jetstar!"

I like the earlier Micheal Moore Doco's " Sicko " and "Goodbye Colombine" better. Heavily biased but great entertainment.

This is what the "Sub-Prime" mess in the US was all about - the fact that the people given the loans had no way of paying them off with the resultant increase in financial defaults and foreclosures.

Marxist Moore hates capitalism so much he apparently has given away all his wealth and gone to live under Communism where everyone is peaceful, equal and living in harmony for the common good.

But I agree with the folk above in the sense that our Capitalist system has gotten very corrupted and regulated to death and the financial system is a cesspool.

Just read an article that says Samsung has sold almost twice as many smart phones as Apple has done so far this year...

For something totally permanent and super heavy duty try Ancorloc - I used their duckbills to tie down a tension fabric structure, easy to fit (they loaned me the drive pin, just hammer it in) and will take off the scale loads if required.

I seem to recall that ADSB world over isnt always the same thing. So, no matter what you do make sure its Ok in Australia.....there were some white papers on teh Australian iteration of ADSB and what they had to do to their box to make it work.

I'm wondering if there is an inherent problem with training in aircraft like the LSA 55 which is known to have a few quirks that take time to get used to as compared to say learning in a Gazelle or a Foxbat initially at least. You don't come across as enthusiastic about flying as you used to which is sad but I understand the time / cost pressures when you are young in particular. Others here more knowledgeable in '55's like Thirsty may well disagree with me of course.

Interesting points Ian & Allegro, one can purchase 9+ inch Android operating tablets now for as cheap as $200. I have one Apple device it's OK but overpriced in comparison, not really too interested in buying another if I can help it.

But whatever your preference I love the competition between these different camps, the consumer is the big winner here.

however as Gnarly Gnu suggested what is clear and obvious in my head may well be less than that when commited to paper. Hopefully Ive added to clarity rather than detracted from it with my explainations here.

I see our constituion as not having evolved from when we were a much smaller group of people, that means that while it was effective for th needs of the time it no longer is and needed a tune up.

Light aircraft seem to be seriously lacking in head protection. They were very fortunate to survive that one.

I believe we need to protect those privileges and demonstrate to the regulators (CASA) that we can be safe, competent and operate within the laws and regulations governing the RAA.

GA is a ripoff in this country, viable to train O/S such as the USA and convert to AU later. Definitely for helos unless it's convenience over cash for you of course.

My understanding is that fuel tanks should be filled after flight to minimise water condensation due to ingress of moisture laden air.

I've never flown a Jabiru with full tanks and one of the strips I fly from you would likely be unable to do this and survive with two POB. Unless you are taking a long trip and it is necessary I suggest the safety risks of full tanks* may outweigh the small water condensation ingress advantage if there is one in a Jabiru. But you need to weigh the risks and decide for yourself of course, YMMV Canberra being cold and all.

* Lots of extra weight = longer roll, slower climb & potential for stale fuel if you are not burning good quantities regularly.

Rotax make - Snowmobile, Motorcycle, ATV, Scooter, Go cart , Marine, Industrial and I nearly forgot hmmm Aircraft engines.

Jabiru on the other hand are really specific with their aero engines!

Watch for the circling black helicopters also flyerme. Generally more sinister - or could be Gary Williams.
