  1. Rent seeking? A bit rough. VH is propped up by the taxpayer, RAA is user pays!
  2. Soar or Sydney Flying Academy at Bankstown. You will need a CASA Licence as well as your RPC as YSBK is Class D. If you do have a RPL/PPL/CPL it might be easier to hire a GA plane from, say, SFC (Sydney Flying Club) as their rate for a PA28 is about the same price as a Foxbat from Soar.
  3. Sounds like fake news. The top 10% IQ can be as dopey as dogshit quite a lot of the time and the bottom 90% aren't much better.
  4. Are you going to recommend that the CFIs get kicked off the board as well?
  5. Has YOUR privacy been breached and in what manner. I can't see it in your letter.
  6. Having a bigger board or geographic representation won't necessarily reduce the overabundance of CFIs.
  7. RAAus could, as a condition of renewal of an airframe, require consent to disclosure of names and addresses to contracting parties for the purpose of .....
  8. AVDATA or the operator has to prove the debt. If you didn't do it or are unsure just ask AVDATA or the operator for the evidence.
  9. Have a link to the CASA site for a free download copy https://www.casa.gov.au/airspace/standard-page/operations-non-controlled-aerodromes
  10. you could have ordered the new VFG and had the radio handbook thrown in for free.
  11. Is that May, 1918 or 18th May, 2019?
  12. Landing fee equivalents are built into your membership fee. It is kind of you to forgive the itinerants the expense of wear and tear on the airfield.
  13. You can walk away from Telstra or your power company. You can have a say in the operation of RAAus, vote, got to a meeting, write to the CEO, President or board members. If you go with ELAAA you will just be a customer - get into the queue!! My objection with going to a company structure is that it is a smoke screen for the greatest range of corporate bastardry. The ASIC rules might be suitable for big companies but impose too many baseless rules and anti-democratic processes on small companies.
  14. Maybe you should take this up with the pilot's advocate, AOPA, who can argue on your behalf. Or you could contact each board member whose contact details appear on Sports Flyer
  15. If it couldn't be done you asked Jim to do it. He was a gentleman and an aviator to the core. Born and bred in the central West of NSW. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Hazelton
  16. You forgot Lawrence Hargaves and Jim Hazelton
  17. Bob Hawke never pretended to be a paragon of virtue although his behaviour during the Pilot Strike left quite a few union members asking when Hawke, NewsCorp and Abels were going to come after them for standing in the way of the mates.
  18. If you believe the naysayers you would form the impression that these are mass graves of Jabirus that engaged in ritual mass suicide after discovering that they weren't Rotaxes. Oh, the shame of not being born with 4 little coloured hats. ??
  19. Jabiru-Locations.png Cheers
  20. Just interpolating. Do you have doubts about 6900 engines being produced, some of which were sent, and are still operational OS?
  21. Almost 3500 would suggest that of the 6900 Jab engines quoted at least 3400 Jabiru engines are either overseas in places like USA, South Africa and Denmark or not in use.
  22. That might suggest that some Jab engines are OS in places like USA, South Africa and Denmark.
  23. There wasn't all that many that failed and probably insufficient to draw statistical conclusions. There was, however, one LAME who had a number of failures which might indicate finger trouble - if you keep doing the same thing don't expect a different result. There appears to be little evidence of continuing problems.
  24. You don't know what you are missing. Jabiru makes great plane.
