  1. You could buy at The Oaks - not a bad little town - and enjoy the conviviality of Dave's Flying School.
  2. No One Can Explain Why Planes Stay in the Air Do recent explanations solve the mysteries of aerodynamic lift? By:Ed Regis https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/no-one-can-explain-why-planes-stay-in-the-air/?fbclid=IwAR2H7_ys5T1O-53SrKKnRu4OVbhmoqvbewk-sNun9vkZ1yHJnob5R6nXC1g

apart from the limitations on MTOW, "great aircraft to fly" !!
  4. NSW GOV Property Report for 995 BURRAGORANG ROAD THE OAKS 2570 13006623-db84-4f8c-bf0b-f0df67222144.pdf
  5. I've hit a wall on 995 Burragorang Rd, The Oaks NSW 2570, AU. I found the deposited plan number but that didn't work either. Maybe the plans are still being developed for the owner(s). Maybe, as they say, "move along, nothing to see here!" but we should keep our eyes and ears open just in case the bad people start getting greedy.
  6. Photos please Cheers
  7. I wouldn't give 75% of the drivers on Parramatta Rd a licence of any description.
  8. I did a quick check last night but nothing turned up. Maybe STCA is as far as it got. In NSW we have "freedom FROM information" which is implemented by either telling nothing, overloading the senses with an excessively excessive amount of info or by creating a clean space, placing the notice and then covering it with rubbish hoping that no-one will notice. I will keep hunting. Cheers
  9. Is there any info about the future of The Oaks? (or any vicious rumours)?
  10. I don't watch pay TV and I couldn't be happier (as is my bank balance)
  11. It would be nice if more journos had a better education at uni in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
  12. OME has provided a new thread/topic at https://www.recreationalflying.com/topic/38977-on-fuel-bulk-storage-getting-clean-fuel-and-so-on/ please use it.
  13. Does that include the "newish" bulk trailer that is less than 5(ish) years old?
  14. talk to the people at Sydney Recreational Flying Club (SRFC) at The Oaks. They have a fuel trailer and have used drums in the past.
  15. Can you provide links to any authoritative sources?
  16. There is no reason why SAAA can't offer RAAus training for both construction and flying - they just need the instructors and planes.
  17. Ah, the good old "company" canard again. I'm surprised you haven't resigned from the human race - being a company of a type.
  18. But can the rest of us trust you?
  19. It doesn't really matter. In an incorporated association It's effectively a lock-out. How can members at Corindi Beach, NSW gather together members from Serpentine WA and Caboolture Qld to attend a general meeting and vote as a block? Technically it is possible, but practically???
  20. Supposedly, there are many benefits of moving to federal incorporation but with a regime that is more about collecting fees and forcing players into miles of paperwork there is little to commend it. It doesn't cut down systemic or casual abuse and at the end of the day it is marginally above a corporation located in a tax haven. The ATO does keep some on the straight and narrow about tax but doesn't oversight morals. The only beneficiaries of commonwealth incorporation are the lawyers and bean counters.
  21. It does make sense as a buffer against inflation. You could earn 4% if the money was in the bank but you would probably lose 2% after inflation - or even worse you could feel rich and spend it on your wife (or worser - give it to your ungrateful children). So many permutations
  22. Does your transponder have ADSB Out or are your planes dependant on using SkyEcho to provide the ADSB Out signal as well as providing an ADSB In receiver function for EFBs?
  23. Take a picture ot the back of the SE2 inc. s/n, store it on your phone, store the SE2 settings screenshot on your phone, write your CASA supplied HexCode on the back of your SE2.
  24. I'm not sure if the GPS in SE2 is used by OzRunways or RWY or AvPlan or it is just used by the ADSB Out part of SE2. Android tablets have built in GPS, both WiFi only and WiFi + mobile (sim). I understand that Apple WiFi only doesn't have a GPS. An onboard GPS doesn't need a SIM to operate. You can hotspot to the mobile network on a phone via WiFi or bluetooth but that increases the operational complexity. Having mobile data coverage on your tablet improves your operation capability- buy a tablet with mobile/4g or 5g/LTE included. You can get away with 32Gb of storage but aim for 64Gb or better. If you want music, videos, manuals you could put these onto an addon memory chip.
