  1. No one is removing any aircraft type from the RAA register. There are still affordable planes out there.
  2. How did they get those panorama shots of the aircraft in flight? A super long self stick? Very impressive
  3. I'm still waiting for Piper Field - Bathurst Soaring Club - to put up some narrative in ERSA.
  4. Airport Fees & Charges » Shellharbour Airport https://share.google/BUXv9ZS2YdVSz3fXB which points to a PDF of council fees and charges. The airport is at page 84.
  5. Flying GA at 2000Kg is like heating the house by burning $100 notes in the fireplace.
  6. Any rumours? Class G airspace in the Sydney Basin above 1000' will disappear over the next couple of months leaving Victor 1 (overwater) as the only north-south transit.
  7. There should be a button for "I'm confused about your post -what are you responding to?"
  8. Which "something worse" are you referring to? For example Col
  9. Mr Nev, words of sage advice but could you reference the microstring that you are referring to. Cheers, Col
  10. Perhaps the 10% are a fair sample of the RAAus membership. If 90% voted we might end up with a travesty instead.
  11. Farm appliances on GPS levelled broad acres can achieve efficiencies as they can maintain long distances at optimum efficiencies but when you brake, slow down, turn corners and rev up through the gears you drop out of the efficient range of ICEs. Planes achieve efficiencies by adopting a low fuel rate in cruise at a constant altitude.
  12. Diesel Electric combo's are optimised for the diesel to run at an optimum speed, which is much more efficient that the speed up slow down 18 gears of a prime mover (or farm appliance). I wouldn't imagine that a diesel gen set is any less efficient than a diesel motor - although Turbs might have some stats. Most modern trains are diesel electric rather than pure diesel.
  13. NewsCorpse has a flying squad that creates stories on slow news days or special events. They hold up banks, create traffic congestion, drive by shootings - any thing, anywhere is their motto. In all likelihood this story was a NewsCorpse set up and was filtered out to the ABC and Ben Fordam to attempt authenticity.
  14. I'm surprised that the Murdoch press would get snippy about a product of one of Rupert's heroes, Elon Musk.
  15. Interesting! I thought that the EFB got its own location info from the Tablet rather than from the SE2 and that the SE2 only used its internal GPS and barro to transmit the SE2 location info. The tablet is much faster syncing, usually because it is always on but the SE2 needs to sync when turned on.
  16. It appears that IOR is calling its unleaded petrol AvPULP. AvPULP: Paving the Way for A Greener Future - IOR | Fuelling Australia WWW.IOR.COM.AU In the 1920s, Thomas Midgley Jr., a 30-year-old industrial chemist, introduced tetraethyllead into motor spirit to combat... It is possible that a number of users at YSCN will own VH aircraft that have had the conversion to lead free or will take the opportunity to convert. When one is out in the boonies it is sometimes difficult to get AvGas and it is significantly cheaper to refuel with MOGAS, PULP or AvPULP (choose your poison)
  17. I suspect that the outline means that mogas is not available so I'm not sure how accurate the price is.
  18. IOR has just installed a Mogas facility at Camden.
  19. You forgot this one - the way people would vote if there were only 2 parties Two-Party Preferred Mar. 2-8, 2026 Mar. 9-15, 2026 Mar. 16-22, 2026 Mar. 23-29, 2026 Change % % % % % ALP 54.5 54 52.5 56.5 +4% L-NP 45.5 46 47.5 43.5 -4% TOTAL 100 100 100 100
  20. Recent polling would indicate that the current government is the least hated and that the LNP and ON are on the nose.
  21. I think Gena has also hopped onto the subsidies.
  22. 8. What an absolutely stupid comment! The Liberal and Country Parties have been equally remiss in their treatment of liquid fuels to the extent that they gave away LPG and, in his swansong, Taylor gifted our fuel reserves to the USofA (try getting that back from Trump) and shut down refineries. "Don't vote, for fucking Labor" might be a better slogan or even better would -
  23. They also said that about horses and slaves.
  24. I'm not sure about Majors Creek to Moruya, it is very rugged, I have been that way once and asked myself "what am I doing here? This is scarey" less scarey (a bit less scarey) is Braidwood to Batemans Bay then down the coast.
  25. Around about page 141 of the Part91 MOS
