  1. Most of our planes need 50 HP plus. I think the Briggs would be ok on part 103 aircraft
  2. I can't see 2 strokes disappearing Until there is a viable 4 stroke replacement that is affordable.
  3. So what do we call it when you insult anyone who dares disagree with you. This thread was going well .
  4. You are wrong. Do want me to drive around and take photos of every ultralight for you. A mate has 5 quicksilvers , 3 trikes and a flight star. All 2 strokes. Another has a thruster Gemini. The xair. I know 3 others flying xairs. Thruster88 has 2 thrusters. Another friend has a 582 drifter. They are out there. Jack C as well 582 xair and thruster.
  5. All those I mentioned are still out there being flown . Why get so cranky every time you are wrong.
  6. wtf do you mean pulling your leg. there are plenty of 2 strokes still flying. quicksilvers are another i can think of.
  7. All the thrusters , most xairs. A lot of earlier light wings, most trikes except for the large 912 versions. All aero chutes , Mosquito choppers , air command gyros, drifters. I am sure there plenty I don't know about. Just because you don't see them don't assume they are not out there.
  8. there are heaps of 2 strokes flying around still.
  9. When I get to fly on a beautiful day like today I remember why I started doing it in the first place.
  10. Another perfect winters day . Lucky I still have the use of the xair I sold. Nothing better than low and slow on a nice day. VID20260801121301.mp4
  11. it is not getting easier either. they are losing instructors and l2s because they reckon it is just getting too hard to bother continuing. i know one school in nsw where the cfi has dropped RAAus and gone to ga only. he was cfi for 3 clubs. tooradin looks like it might get another school ga only . no raaus. what is it that is pushing key people away. ending up with an organisation where training is difficult to obtain can't be good. i know an l2 that now refuses to do aircraft condition reports.
  12. that skippers plane brings back memories. spent a lot of time sitting the back of those things.
  13. While on the subject. I got told the other day that I have to add a spacer or increase the combustion chamber size on my Jabiru 2200a to use unleaded. I have never heard or read anything about this before.
  14. i know the people i was talking about pretty well. they do a lot of work on rotax as well as ga. they also do most of the l4 raa work in the area.
  15. I think it would be easier than normal rc where you are watching a model that can get quite hard to see at times not to mention our depth perception sucks.
  16. The 2 912s at Latrobe valley ran on avgas for a long time with no issues that I have heard about. They run on mogas now because it is available onsite.
  17. No offence intended either but I think the lames that look after the club trainers would be far more experienced and familiar with the maintenance requirements of a 912 on avgas than a rec pilot / enthusiast.
  18. Agree. I don't what servos turbo goes to. Ethanol blends have an E in front of the number
  19. I have used it once and it worked well but I only did one touch and go. Hope to give it a longer run next weekend.
  20. pretty sure i saw one of those at the moorabbin musuem the other day. the front was opened up.
  21. i thought west sale museum would take it but they have no where to put it.
  22. i like the looks of these types
  23. sent you a message geoff. i know a museum that might like it.
