    Saaa

Congratulations to our forum member jackc, who has been appointed to the saaa facilities committee. Well done jac.
  3. He is saying we should be able to enjoy our hobby and have freedom to do it within reason. No need to be wrapped in cotton wool all the time. If I do something to my AC and stuff up .it will be my problem. I don't fly near people or cart passengers. ii don't see how raaus have a duty of care really when the panel has placards saying fly this aircraft at your own risk. And this is not a a certified aircraft. There are many rules in life designed to protect us from ourselves. People should be accountable for their actions not fall back on duty of care rubbish.
  4. Have to agree with Skippy to an extent. If you fly alone you should be allowed to do your own thing without being silly about it. The minute you put a passenger in the plane they are putting their life in your hands. The nanny / Big brother is a pain in the a. Doesn't work too well either. Victoria is a good example. Worst drivers in the world even though it's the biggest nanny state in the country.
  5. My passenger holds 20 ltrs. His name is Jerry.
  6. They had the same autopilot in flying high. Anyone remember the hostess pumping it up.
  7. the xair has to use an agm because that 6.5 kg is positioned on the fuse tube to set the w&b. when you fit lithium you have to add counterweights because of the 5 kg difference.
  8. There are lots of earth X lifepo4 batteries in aircraft I haven't heard of any problems with them. But they are certified aircraft batteries. I have an AGM .
  9. i thought there was no way they could burn unlike lithium iron which i thought you had at first.
  10. try doing that if your throttles are not available . i am pretty sure the qantas captain i was talking about would have some idea about flying.
  11. and that is what will keep pilots in a job. look at the uproar when airlines wanted to have single pilots . there is also the problem of fly by wire. if you read the story of the airbus that had the uncommanded descents over wa, the pilot from that said when the electronics fail there is nothing the flight crew can do. as you said earlier a backup mechanical control would be reassuring.

  13. i understand but you have to admit ice are very efficient and reliable these days.
  14. Don't be a dronego
  15. I don't really care, just thought it was interesting. I laughed because I was just thinking how long is it going to take for o/t to jump on this. Didn't have to wait long.๐Ÿ˜
  16. This thread is in the running for most pointless of 2025. It's more boring than the ones I start๐Ÿ˜. This is from a pilot, operator or maybe I am airflow control technician
  17. this might be interesting
  18. the ice is still the most fuel efficient and reliable engine available. It will be a long time before electric takes over except for Hybrid, but If there I ever a major breakthrough in battery technology it may happen. Can't see it yet .
  19. The future might even be hybrid. Like a small turbo prop running a prop and battery charging. If they come up with a small fuel efficient turbine one day. And light weight batterys.
  20. The diesels would run on jet fuel I would imagine.
  21. Sorry. I didn't mean to imply you flew dc3 ๐Ÿ˜. You often talk about the 727s. I guess fly by wire takes a lot potential mechanical failures out of the system.
  22. Nev when you flew airliners how reliable were they compared to the modern computerised versions.
  23. This thread was about the airbus Directive In the first post . They were talking about all aircraft not Jetstar. They said there are around 6000 affected.
  24. There used to be thrusters spraying crops until casa stopped them.
  25. There are around 6000 AC affected around the world and yes we know it is a software issue.
