  1. Why. Jabiru are only supplying cranks. Nothing else.
  2. So why didn't they have a 4 stroke endorsement. I would agree with 2 stroke familiarisation being included in the syllabus but not as an add on you have to pay extra for. Mind you some of the stuff posted about oil ratios shows a definite lack of understanding by some people.
  3. i feel for clubs and schools. if they offer enough money to keep instructors they lose students who can't afford to pay more. but it doesn't seem to matter what hobbie or sport you look at most are facing the same problems.
  4. sorry. i read it wrong.
  5. Only trying to help the bloke alright
  6. if you can get hold of planesmaker he should have all the info you need.
  7. planesmaker Members 579 Aircraft: Jabiru Location: Tumut Country: Afghanistan Posted August 19, 2015 I would say those figures from aak would be correct, obviously they are with only 1 person (big person 105kg) and about 1/2 fuel (about 40kg) I would estimate the empty wt around 370kg or so , all up about 500kg. I usually climb out at 800'/min at 650kg on 100hp in my rotax j400. What a great aeroplane! Jabiru make the best airframe, strong, low maintenance, and reasonable price and it's local, need any parts, just call and order arrives in a couple of days! I m very happy with my jab. Tom
  8. I don't plan on going to Portugal if that's what you are suggesting. I am nearly finished my RPC now. Found a reliable instructor who is there every day. Before I could only get instructors who were there to build hours . They would all Leave and then you had to wait for another one to come along.
  9. It's gone and good riddance.
  10. I bet there are not many of us 2 stroke people flying these days with all the fancy euro aircraft and jabs being the main raaus fleet
  11. You can learn all that without paying money for an endorsement. I never had a drama with my 582. I did warm it up at 3000 rpm before flight though. Never cooled much on descent either , draggy plane keeps the revs up until touch down.
  12. After all the arguments here about the 2 stroke endorsement, I have enquired about getting it because I now have a 618. I was told I don't need that endorsement any more. It has been dropped from the syllabus. Load of crap like I thought it was.
  13. Even my xair has an unducted fan
  14. Update in the storch 24 to e24 It is done by Darren Barnfield. $1220 plus decals. Turned out to be a quick and painless operation once he spoke to Darren.
  15. well it was a gen 4. it would not restart on the ground. hopefully they will post what happened when they find out.
  16. That's the thing . Batteries are always the problem.
  17. the jab haters jumped on it straight away. it could have run out of fuel. it doesn't automatically mean the engine had a fault.
  18. i meant around the world. hummelbirds are popular. you are giving me a headache. i need a rest . you cleared my constipation anyway.🙂
  19. It will be interesting to see the finished product and how it's charged and range etc. A project this large may help advance battery technology too.
  20. There are a lot of hummelbirds flying so why is spaceys special.
  21. Imagine the size of the PowerPoint to plug it into.😁
  22. so what do they do when buiding a kit or plans built ac. i thought they had inspections for each stage . i would not want to fly in one that hadn't.
  23. which one suggests it can be done, i was wrong about wing loadings, there is a section on that. i agree with what you saying but his aircraft may fit criteria under vh rules. for instance if the stall speed is too high for raaus . it might be ok for vh. only an inspection by a vh exp inspector will provide the ultimate answer.
