  1. I tried control line but after a while I started to feel like I just going round in circles. Learnt RC so I could crash them further away . That way I combined walking and flying.
  2. Never heard of anyone going to jail for killing themselves . I do agree with you if they were carrying passengers, that is when the sh## hits the fan. They would not do that.
  3. There are lots of blokes flying that haven't done a bfr for years. All good experienced aviators that fly on their own. Maybe not near the big smoke . Not saying it's the right thing to do but it happens.
  4. Culpability of those others who knew, or should have known, that neither the pilot or aircraft, met the minimum standards for flight. I never hear anyone mention or ask about Another pilot or his aircraft. I was told people do this to avoid any culpability if something goes wrong.
  5. Looking good
  6. Sorry..I didn't know it was one of those. It's the 2 old blokes off the Muppets.
  7. gyrogirl has been doing videos for years. she wears a bra these days to stop them slapping against her knees.😁
  8. the owner of titan aircraft said the nicest engine he tested in the titan tornado was a mazda rotary but he didn't go any further with it because the exhaust was too hot for the pusher installation.

  10. You are a grumpy old bugger. Can you look at anything in a positive light😁
  11. Why does the ice motor get a hard time. Is revving harder than normal or highly loaded turning the generator. Can you explain what you are talking about. Thanks
  12. She is a professional actor who does theatre performing so I guess the makeup would be a pretty normal thing for her. Maybe some people shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
  13. pilot seen later converting van into new sleigh
  14. have you been asked to quote any glazing jobs 😁
  15. This paragraph is what I was asking about. That's a good answer. Your first paragraph is not related to my question. But if the air speed indicator stopped in the xair I could just drive at 6000 rpm all the way to the ground. Its such high drag I can land at 60 knts with a short ground roll. Still have vsi as well for maintaining level flight. Probably wrong but would work.
  16. Who said I was looking at the ground or getting too slow.. Should be able to ask a question . If you read what I asked you wouldn't give such condescending replies.
  17. i did 3 circuits yesterday. it was like riding a bronco. felt safe though. i used to only fly in calm conditions but now i brave a bit of weather so i don't get a big shock if i run into any. it amazes me how well the xair handles the wind considering how slow and light it is. couldn't fly today, 40mm of rain put a stop to that.
  18. great reply. thats exactly how it feels .
  19. Hi jacked another thread. Sorry,😐
  20. I fly as I was taught to. I know about angle of attack but because I fly the aircraft as I was taught and according to the poh I will be safe. Throttle for altitude , stick for speed will keep the aoa within limits. When you say we are wrong it makes learners like me question what they were taught and that is not good. I do have a question I would like an answer for though. I do a lot of flying in 10 to 15 knot winds. When I turn crosswind and down wind I try to keep the ball in the middle and it feels like the controls are crossed up. I think being an ultralight with a large wing exacerbates it Am I better off looking at the horizon and completing a smooth turn without looking at the ball. Trying to explain it the best I can .
  21. So tell me how do I maintain The correct aoa if I am too slow.
  22. Fair enough for that type but every type of aircraft is involved in stall accidents .
  23. I can't get over how many stall accidents there are. It's not hard to fly the correct speeds or even add a bit of not sure
  24. I thought of hooking an electric fence up to the steel rails the door rollers run on. Because the birds all sit on them and enter and exit the building there too. Wonder if that's ever been tried.
