  5. Welcome aboard Ollaz. Tell us about your escapades. Nev
  6. Who the hell Knows those Places Even Airlines don't use the Y code and I don't have ONE in any of my Logbooks and they Have been stamped and checked numerous times. Nev
  7. It's more likely in Diesel but I've had some Old Motorcycle tanks get contaminated and continue to do so unless treated. Lawnmower Places have fuel conditioners for sale. Companies exist to "Polish" Diesel fuel that is contaminated and reclaim it, for about 40c/ Liter. AVTUR has Bio Protection added. and Its dangerous to handle as a consequence. Don't use it as a solvent. Nev
  8. Yes and thanks. Nev
  9. I reckon He designed and Built it. We have a Genuis in our Midst. Nev
  10. I built a few of the "ALL American" Reflex Flaps and bigger inside wing, for the 35. Could someone provide a Picture? At one stage that was viewed as the Ultimate "Combat" plane. I didn't follow the trend to RC Too expensive so went to the REAL thing and found out what real Poverty feels like. It's like a drug. You get hooked on Planes. Nev
  11. Who Launched it for you? Flying something Like that would Bore me quickly. It's a very BASIC plane. I mostly flew 1/2 A team racing and STUNT/Combat. I guess the 049 had short control lines. I wondered WHEN you would get giddy. Nev
  12. You are Not Wrong about the side slips but tricycles will always be with us but keep the weight OFF the Nosewheel. Nev
  13. Not ME. Nev
  14. I'm often surprised HOW many People don't do them very well. Without flaps you get a lot of practice, Nev
  15. Capillary tube is the Most reliable done properly. Bit slow to register. Unreliable warnings are as bad as having none. Nev
  16. What height do you continue them to? Nev
  17. One in 60 rule is pretty handy. Reciprocals add 200, Minus 20 or deduct 200 Plus 20. Nev
  18. I always make a Point of pre-pressurising ANY new or "Left Sitting" motors prior to running them. The OIL Pressure Pick up Point is a suitable Place to supply the "Forced oil" .Do it for Longer where Hydraulic Lifters are installed to ensure they are Pumped up turn the engine with one plug out of each cylinder for half a dozen turns, replace plugs and "feel" compressions. Nev
  19. A gallon of Paraffinic fuel produces more than a gallon of water and you'll always get some in the Breather which in your case is the Oil return Pipe. Nev
  20. Motors are best left inhibited. Nev
  21. That's a Curly one. Nev
  22. Don't crash in a Yellow Plane in the yellow Plain.
  23. I question your LAST line. I have NO desire to fly on it. A BA one turned back to Sydney over Orange on a London flight , about 5 days ago. They are not without Issues. Nev
  24. All Pressurisation systems are complex. That's not an article for Pilot study.. There are disadvantages to Having a 6000 ft cabin altitude. Most run at 8500 which is no problem for most People. Required height is 12000 in the US and 10000 here to fly unpressurised. . Above that supplemental oxygen is required . Max differential pressure is just below 9 psi but would be higher with a cabin alt of 6000 ft so the structure must be stronger and the Compressors work harder. I don't like the IDEA of electric motors driving it. It's to save fuel and would be a pretty high electrical load. There's a few things about the dreamliner I and a few others don't like but it's the Long range plane to use where that is required. I don't know how the anti and de ice systems work . Normally they are Bleed air and work better than anything else I know of. The speed through the air heats the Plane about 32 degrees above ambient at cruise alt but the Clouds at that Height are ice crystals and are not a Problem, unless they Include Cb. or you are near the Intertropic Convergence zone. (Thermal Equator). Nev
