It would NOT be from anything in the budget . As far as I know Casa was funded from fuel related imposts and CASA was meant to Pass some of that on to RAAus bit discontinued the Process unilateraly, Maybe CASA could trim their expenses as they have less "Little " planes to worry about. Peoples words are being twisted here. Anyhow that bulkhead IS a firewall. It's just ridiculous to use the Heat from the engine Bay to the heat the cabin directly. I can't see how it would ever be approved by a responsible authority. The accepted way is from a heater Muff on some Part of the exhaust system with Fresh air drawn from outside of the engine area.. The cabin generally runs at a Pressure Below ambient. The Oil tank has a breather. You haven't told me where that goes. It can even vent OIL in turbulence. You can't guarantee you have No exhaust Leaks. Nev

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning is insidious. Where does your Oil tank Vent and how do you know there's absolutely NO leaks from the exhaust system? Nev

Anything like that is hardly Likely to be stink free, is it? Also on a cold day it would be lucky to be hot enough to do much. I wouldn't take the Carbon Monoxide risk. Nev

A Poor sealing fuel cap can do that. Nev

Chopping off rubber pipe often produces a scarf that would cause flow Problems. Be super careful with everything. Ensure the flow is about 150% of Max rate required. Nev

Generally speaking, it's not a good idea to fire up engines without thoroughly Warming them up which is usually about one hour in the air.. There are ways of putting clean air through radials Mainly in how you shut them down. They have a lot of flywheel effect.. Nev

It's very rare to even see or Hear one of these "proper" Rotaries running. I'm surprised nobody seems Interested.. They DO this sort of thing in New Zealand where they really punch above their weight. There's a great Museum in Christchurch with Knowledgeable people to show you around. It wasn't affected by the Earthquake, Luckily. Nev

The Blip switch cuts the Ignition when you want reduced Power. Later Motors have throttle control (as Normal). The fuel enters through the Hollow crankshaft since the entire engine rotates with the Prop attached to it These motors used Copious amounts of Castor (vegetable) Oil and was the originator of (Wakefield) CASTROL Oils.. The Camel was difficult to fly as it turned Much more Rapidly in one particular direction due the Large gyroscopic Precession effect of the Motor . Once Pilots got used to it, It was used to advantage in aerial combat. Nev

They use a 'BLIP' switch to control the Power. The entire motor rotates with the Prop at about 1100 RPM. Lots of Gyroscopic precession. Nev
