  1. don't want to sound pessimistic but I this machine is probably 'quiet' compared to a 747 - 'quiet' used in advert she'd (no disrespect to females) kick up some noise when in action
  2. the neighbours Flightrite - how do the neighbours stack up ?
  3. how could anyone watch TV (if you had to) ...................... and it was not the ABC we in Oz are lucky to have an organisation like ABC - essentially tax payer funded and not influenced by commercialism. The ABC try their best to be the social conscience of our society - we are lucky to have such a unique asset - I doubt any country can boast that ? the reference to 'jet star' pilot - does this infer a qantas pilot would not do this ? (sarcasm)
  4. petrol, electric or pedal ?
  5. the son in law (150kgs - he's lighter now) and I (95 kgs) went for a fly in a tecnam - notch of flap for takeoff helped it was heavy flying but when gravity was used - it all felt all just as usual (deliberate no comment about fuel quantity)
  6. go on BB320 tell us about your career - commercial pilots are always modest - where you learnt to fly - what plane - what airlines - what aircraft - how many hours - was ..........dragon airlines good with the money - - where did you fly the 320 from - did dragon airlines give you a bus ticket home ................. thanks BB320
  7. thanks thruster 88 - that's the one
  8. I think ? .... I read of a non stop flight in an untralight to NZ - somewhere down south (Vic) Any info or where that thread is ? thanks
  9. so well put on numerous occasions I have emailed bureaucrats - and suggested rather than change legislation - they should take up knitting or at least use a 2 lb hammer on their fingers - these suggestions have fallen on deaf ears
  10. we seem to be whinging ................. about people whinging the human condition is terminal which helps and OME I always notice your comment about traffic - exhausts and wheezing turbines - you need to excavate a bunker and retreat to there Whinge: to me the worst thing would be live next to a person that incessantly whistled - good whistling would be bad - bad whistling would be murderous
  11. I reckon pilot failed to look outside - and then put the pedal to the metal
  12. I'll go for brownie points Ian (I'm sure we were here about 5 years ago) Nice easy read .......... suit me fine - thanks
  13. gympie queensland has mogas .......................... credit card required
  14. what would have been the rough fuel burns for each engine ?
  15. my guess ? - pilot seems nervous from a higher speed landing ............... then things ............... really start to happen hope pilot is OK after impact
  16. there's one missing forgot to screw down oil filler on a C152. went for short flight and had to clean fueslage with paper towels - covered in oil all cleaned up for a cpl flight test which I passed ! - immediately before flight test the local flight instructor said 'you'll never get it' (great words of encouragement)
  17. there is one missing - just started taxi - noticed pitot cover on wing flapping in the wind
  18. .......... thats odd ?
  19. if that was planned ..................... smart move (stepping away from global ethics, countries and politics - a shrewd (for some) business move)
  20. The plastic rego card system worked well -rego card displayed on aircraft
  21. if you are part of a club ................. that group should investigate using the one insurer .................. there are some good benefits to be had (for both insured and insurer)
  22. thank god they remembered to put a wing on it
  23. on 2 separate occasions I have been lucky to sit in the right hand seat while aerial topdressing (nz). On the second occasion the relaxed pilot (ag pilots usually are) allowed me top fly it back to the airfield - a distance of say 20 miles - and to finals the DC3 topdressers were single pilot operation and carried 5 tons of phosphate from provincial airfields Provincial airfields saved the cost of transporting the fertilizer to an isolated farm strip - I don't know if that was sound economics
  24. let him who is without sin cast the first stone
