    So looking at the list of sensors used and their function it should be obvious why Rotax did not use a simple mechanical waste gate. 115hp from only 1211cc at only 5500rpm is a relatively high specific output.

    I used the existing wing tip nav light wire to pull more wires through the wing on my RV to install a tailbeacon x in the wing tip.

    It is possible to go snow skiing all day in sub zero temps and 15 knots of wind chill with appropriate clothing. These electric pants could also be an option.     Another issue with high altitude flight is freezing up the inside of the crankcase or crankcase/oil tank breather tube. Water is a by product of combustion, the vapour can freez in the end of the tube as it exits the cowling. Some aircraft have a whistle-stop opening in the tube inside the warm area of the cowl as a failsafe.

    As someone in the farming game about 90% or more of crop farmers have their own ground sprayer, either self propelled or a tractor trailer unit. Drones also don't have to fly, small autonomous ground units are available right now, these can be very light weight and often use weed seeking camera technology for fallow spraying.

    Given the problems people have with RAAus registration of jabiru aircraft fitted with Rotax engines how are you doing the engineering approval? Will you be selling an engine complete with MARUP or an STC as a package?

    Had a nice fly in the mighty musketeer to a friend's strip in the hills for some Thruster flying this morning. The approach to the strip follows a curve in the creek valley, strip becomes visible on very late final and always looks very short. Good fun and the musketeer performs very well at light weight.

    You need to re read what I wrote. Atmospheric pressure pushes oil FROM the tank to the oil pump. Would the system work with zero pressure in the tank?

    Big problem seems like lack of pressure to push oil from the tank to the oil pump, only about 3.3psi @ 36,000 v 15psi at sea level. I guess this is a problem for all piston engines but more so with the Rotax due to length of delivery hose and the oil cooler.

    The Rotax 916 turbo still producing 24 inches of manifold pressure at 36,000. "Stunts" like this sell aircraft. Amazing engine.

    Interesting place, what were they mining just south of Coodardy? Is that an abandoned railway running to Cue? Is the mine strip still usable.

    I practice slips all the way into the flare in the Thruster, engine at idle. This results in an extremely steep approach, there is quite a ground rush and the flare has to be timed, it is a fun manoeuvre. Also practice engine off landings. I do this by myself, in the event of a real engine failure there will be less stress. I rarely do slips in my other aircraft which have flaps. Always fly with correct airspeed.

    Single cam with 3rd order lever rockers. 4 valves per cylinder, one lobe per valve. The rocker pivot shaft rotates? Not sure why.

    The Rotax 916 will help sell a lot of new aircraft of all types.

    The strip was most likely hosted by a farmer, land owner. Land my have been sold or situaton has changed. My friend has a similar set up in central West NSW, they own the land but the local council is the operator.

    I believe the two seat Thrusters are type certified aircraft so in Australia experimental is not an option. Re the Drifter, I really like 2 strokes but the 912 would be a better choice in every way except coolness to get 100hp.

    The Thruster Gemini (aluminium tail frame) never had a 582 from the factory, built 1985,86. The T300, T500 with steel tail frames did have the option of a 582 from the factory, built 1987 on. I believe "on condition" engine operation has now been approved for the Rotax 2 strokes, a step in the right direction.
