Read text first:
This guy clearly has brass and you know the sailors on the flight deck had a cow when they saw this unfold in front of them. Intentional? Hardly!
This is unbelievable!
F-35 unintentional loop at takeoff a real "check your laundry" event.
A supremely well-trained US Navy pilot, ice running in his veins instead of blood, fully regains control of his $70 million, F-35 joint strike force fighter, after a problematic vertical take-off attempt... Watch as the rear vertical thruster fires to cause the problem.
There's nothing about this the pilot enjoys. If he could have ejected at 100' upside down and lived, he would have. Looks like the afterburner kicks in while still vectored for vertical takeoff. Lockheed would call this a "software malfunction" and do a little more "regressive testing". This is a good demonstration of power-to-weight ratio of this aircraft! And talk about stability control... wow!
If he didn't come out of the loop wings-level, it probably would have been bad news; maybe taking some of the carrier with him!
Add to this flying through your own exhaust, which can lead to equipment malfunctions, as in "flame out". The F-35 is single engine aircraft with vertical takeoff/landing capability, but it has the aerodynamics of a Steinway piano at zero airspeed. This is the most unbelievable piece of flying you will ever see in your life.
This guy's coolness saved a 70 million-dollar aircraft! On the other hand, he might not have had time to react to anything except just ride it.
I bet you'll watch it at least 2 times!

They met at the singles club meeting and discovered over time that they enjoyed each other's company.
After several weeks of meeting for coffee, Claude asked Maude out for dinner and, much to his delight, she accepted. They had a lovely evening. They dined at the most romantic restaurant in town.
Despite his age, they ended at his place for an after-dinner drink. Things continued along a natural course and age being no inhibitor, Maude soon joined Claude for a most enjoyable roll in the hay.
As they were basking in the glow of the magic moments they'd shared, each was lost for a time in their own thoughts......
Claude was thinking: 'If I'd known she was still a virgin, I'd have been gentler.'
Maude was thinking: 'If I'd known he could still do it, I'd have taken my pantyhose off. '

Ahh, the memories! Musketeer is what I got my licence on. Back in the day, the instructors demonstrated engine failure (at altitude), by killing the engine. Dive engine restart gets the ticker pounding.

You need to be able to remember the era to really enjoy this...
It was a hot Saturday evening in the summer of 1960 and Fred had a date with Peggy Sue. He arrived at her house and rang the bell.
"Oh, come on in!" Peggy Sue's mother said as she welcomed Fred in. "Have a seat in the living room. Would you like something to drink? Lemonade? Iced tea?"
"Iced tea, please," Fred said.. Mom brought the iced tea.
"So, what are you and Peggy planning to do tonight?" she asked.
"Oh, probably catch a movie, and then maybe grab a bite to eat at the malt shop, maybe take a walk on the beach..."
"Peggy likes to screw, you know," Mom informed him.
"Uh...really?" Fred replied, with raised eyebrows.
"Oh, yes!" the mother continued. "When she goes out with her friends, that's all they do!"
"Is that so?" asked Fred, incredulous.
"Yes," said the mother. "As a matter of fact, she'd screw all night if we let her!"
"Well, thanks for the tip," Fred said as he began thinking about alternate plans for the evening.
A moment later, Peggy Sue came down the stairs looking pretty as a picture wearing a pink blouse and full circle skirt, and with her hair tied back in a bouncy ponytail.
She greeted Fred.
"Have fun, kids," the mother said as they left.
Half an hour later, a completely disheveled Peggy Sue burst into the house and slammed the front door behind her.
"The Twist, Mom!" she angrily yelled at her mother. "The damned dance is called the TWIST!

The television series Mighty Planes, previously shown on Discovery Turbo Max on Foxtel, is now on Channel 7, at least in Melbourne. The first episode, on Donald Trump's Boeing 757, was shown last Wednesday at 7:30 pm. This weeks episode is about the Blue Angels and their F-18 Hornets.

THE BACK PEW--
A pastor's wife was expecting a baby, so he stood before the congregation and asked for a raise.
After much discussion, they passed a rule that whenever the pastor's family expanded; so would his paycheck.
After 6 children, this started to get expensive and the congregation decided to hold another meeting to discuss the pastor's expanding salary.
A great deal of yelling and inner bickering ensued, as to how much the pastor's additional children were costing the church, and how
much more it could potentially cost.
After listening to them for about an hour, the pastor rose from his chair and spoke, "Children are a gift from God, and we will take as many gifts as He gives us."
Silence fell over the congregation. In the back pew, a little old lady struggled to stand, and finally said in her frail voice,
"Rain is also a gift from God, but when we get too much of it, we wear rubbers."
The entire congregation said, "Amen."

A door that fell off a small plane has been found on a motel roof in the US.
The Salinas Californian reports the door fell from a Beechcraft King Air twin-turboprop plane that took off from Monterey Regional Airport Thursday afternoon.
The pilot heard a pop but only realised the door was missing when he was back on the ground.
The door wasn't discovered until Friday morning when a contractor working outside the motel noticed it.
The front desk manager at the El Castell Motel says no one heard the 34-kilogram door crash into the tile roof because the room below was unoccupied.
The National Transportation Safety Board will examine the door and the plane to determine why it came loose and fell.

I was outside on a ladder peeling ivy off the garage when I heard a muffled aircraft engine not much louder than a cats purr approaching. Next thing, the yellow Antonov An-2 VH-CCE passed overhead on a track between Lilydale and Moorabbin. A while later, it came over again, heading in the same direction. It must have returned to Lilydale while I was inside.

There is a Tall Ships Festival on in Melbourne at the moment (ends tomorrow). I went to Williamstown to take some photos, and hoped to have them up on Flickr tonight, but their site is down for maintenance. Hopefully I will have them up tomorrow. If so, I will post a link on this thread. In the interim, I will try to add a couple of samples to this thread.

The above news item appeared on my optuszoo home page.
Have any of our cabin crew members or other first class passengers experienced anything like this?
