  1. Batman was around in 1925?
  2. Wrong shape for electric. Similar to the 701, it's got a built in headwind.
  3. You look ready for your scene with Katee Sackhoff!
  4. Jeez, you could grow tomatoes in that greenhouse.
  5. Fantastic work Mark. Hey with your fuel splitter, looks like you have 2 joined blocks. I thought only 1 x 5 point block was needed (fuel in, carb x 2, tank return, fuel pressure) - interested in why you have more?
  6. The loom came with a set of steam instruments I bought. They'd come with a Savanah kit but the owner wanted a glass panel.
  7. Massive "Thank you!" today to @nomadpete who generously offered his time and expertise. He spent the afternoon working out my instrument panel wiring. Still a bit to go but a lot further than I would have got on my own. Really appreciate the help Peter!
  8. With the shedroom finished (we moved in Boxing day) I've been clearing out stuff in the rest of the shed. Today with the help of my 12yo son, we performed a 60-point turn with the plane (along with some sideways lifting) to get it around the corner in the L shaped space. She's now backed up to the roller door and today for the first time, her shapely behind got some sun! 😁
  9. Well no wonder it was unsuccessful - they forgot the rear fuselage and horizontal stabilizer, pointed the engines the wrong way and mounted the tail upside down.
  10. WTF?? The damn thing was on the ground and upright, and almost stopped. Why did he eject instead of just switching off and walking away?
  11. It looks very unstable with the engines that far above the rest of it. Shouldn't the thrust line be as close to the longitudinal centreline as possible??
  12. Vive la France, Nev.
  13. Service ceiling: 16 ft. Love it. At that altitude the top of the tail is 5x higher than the service ceiling.
  14. Looks like a Tiger Moth stuck in a drainpipe!
  15. According to the CASA register it was manufactured in 2001 but first registered in Australia last year.
  16. This was on ABC radio today, but couldn't find it on their website. SMH has it. https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/pilot-escapes-injury-after-plane-crashes-into-fence-car-at-bankstown-20221119-p5bzmo.html No injuries which is good, but the owner of that Mazda might be a bit annoyed.
  17. I resemble that remark.
  18. I don't think it'd take millions. I'll do it for half a million, OME.
  19. That seems a little wasteful, besides the risk of taking your tail off, I can't imagine many of the discarded wings tumbling down were able to be reused!
  20. Spotted what looked like a small aircraft carrier tied up at the wharf in Hobart. Turns out it's the USS Tripoli, an amphibious assault ship, with a complement of F35's and Ospreys. All the F35's were below deck but there was an Osprey sitting on top. Didn't take any photos but this ABC news article has a few. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-11-10/us-navy-uss-tripoli-visits-hobart/101632206
  21. I liked the photo from the PPRUNE thread but it leads to a dilemma... if you removed them before flight, would you still fly?
  22. Are they lining that up to launch it at another one of their own apartment blocks?
  23. Might have something to do with this quote from the Flying article: tried to persuade or require students to join RAAus and get a pilot certificate and then convert it to an RPL, bypassing CASA's minimum standards for RPL
  24. Still, I reckon they're sore.
