Agree that is why the Rotax 914 cab bowl is held in place with a bolt in the bottom of the float bowl (the spring on the 9i2's is not strong enough). Over time the bowl to cab gasket leaks and people tighten the nut and redo it a number of times this causes the bowl to deform and the carb float pins splay out and effect the movement of the floats. Attention is needed for this when servicing and maintaining the 914's. I'm personally happy with the 912's.
12.6 is engine to run on condition info,
Also would be good to hear approximate cost for GA aircraft (specific to checks performed on engines performance) for the assessing condition of engine to go to next service interval. Then compare that with RAAus costs (RAAus processing plus whatever L2 amounts to.)
Is it factory or owner built and email Australian agent and ICP overseas for their advice. You could also phone bearing supplier with your bearing number and they can give alternate types of sealed bearings that will fit.
Info building, they are out there. Just saw this on a VG advertisement.
Also, last weekend was shown over a 912 supercharged that had a crossover pipe setup. Yep supercharged, great info for me to consider.
I fitted a set of these,
Aveo GliderBurst DayLite – Wingtip Strobe Light
One on top of fin and one bottom of fuse. $451 at Aircraft Spruce Australia.
I also fitted their 8 LED rectangular landing light, they have other types now.
They seem about the cheapest good quality brand items.
What does POH say, most want it on during the landing phase and off during final; when you are easily with glide to thresh hold / aiming point to off in case of a go around.
I plan same set up as Rotax do, alloy tube with manifold pressure takeoff and rubber or silicone joiners. Yet to decide if I do the 25mm or a 19mm sizing. Will track down some results with both sizes.
I would have thought the panel would be removed and replaced and the removed panel of the switches would be assessed and examined, considering its importance to operate correctly and the recent occurrences.
I have sourced a set of inlet manifolds and a mate who is a very good ally welder (used to make the inlet manifolds for the EA81’s for the early Terriers) will weld on some 19mm or so elbows when I get some. Getting there. Off an early 80hp engine.
That is close to what he would like for them, he is dropping off he log book at my hangar after 4pm today so will have that info when I'm out there next. I washed and took images of both sides and a walk around video of both top and bottom sides for info.
I'm sure there is a set, I should be out there again tomorrow. I just moved them up yesterday and had to be somewhere so just quickly placed them there, ready to clean up. PM what you think a price would be and I'll contact the owner, I'll take images of both sides of all pieces for you as well. Thanks for questions.
I'll have to check, just collected them yesterday, and plan to clean dust off them tomorrow and store. Can you see what your after in the group on floor beside my plane. I'm getting log books soon as they were this home. send pm if you like. Cheers
I have a set of very good condition GR Nose wheel Lightwing wings from a GR912T (tricycle undercarriage), wing tips, Rudder, legs (won't suit tail dragger), both doors, 3 brake bands, both fibreglass seats, trim pieces, some foot pedals (One side only), firewall. etc and some other bits. Image of the parts and I'll be washing the dust off them and making a catalogue of the parts. Hours are 3,262.8 airframe. At Mackay QLD.
If anyone interested in some parts let me know.
Two walk around videos of the tail planes and elevators.
Yep, racing, landing, catching, refuelling, restarting and rejoining, then over taking or being overtaken, what fun, laughs and confusion, getting giddy; down at a local park. Then the combat sorties.
