That would be a let down.

There are a few other curious points such as the fact that Santa is transgender....
But is there a reason this is in Aviation Classifieds?
-
Well he's safe around cannibals.

Aircraft covers like Punkinhead as a minimum, or a tensioned fabric structure about $13k for 140 m2 or set up a smaller shade sail maybe $3k. But yeah security remains a problem, the Jab locks look a bit like off a kids piggy bank.

Hmm, fact-hunting is now bad practise apparently!Don't think it hurts to believe in things like Santa for a while. They will grow up to the realities soon enough. There's nothing scary or malicious in it. It's a lot better than" God will get you if you are not good, and you will go to hell and burn forever". Nev.

O.K. - I think you should be able to see for yourself the ones that are bleating to have the thread deleted and trying to howl down anyone who doesn't agree with their fantasies... they oppose free speech except for their own.
HTC the Greens are the old Communist party re-named; case in point the 'free' university you mentioned which simply means taking other peoples money away from them to give to a select few. Nothing government provided is ever free.

OK to define it loosely lefties are totalitarian inclined people opposed to individual freedom. And humour actually does irritate them, as we see.
For the record I am for helping refugees and anti illegal immigrant / economic migrant queue jumper.
-
I'm an indigenous Australian and not an immigrant but quite white. Why your hang up about skin colour? And BTW no-one is more anti-science than a Greenie.Every white person in Australia is an immigrant but it seems like that detail is conveniently forgottenYou are quite young and naive I take it?
-
Someone a few posts back wants to let them out. Now gotta admit THAT was funny!Big problem there, is once you start culling prison officers- who will lock the prisoners in?Presumably not living next to him of course...

-
Lefties don't get humour, or reality. Besides tough week for them with much admired Kim entering hell and now Gillard grasping the Nauru nettle. OK not her, she wouldn't break her holiday over a few dozen of economic migrants drowning.

I find the 'Santa Claus' thing creepy, not someone I'm ever letting near my children. To me it is very important not to lie to my children and that they know from the outset to seek for truth - in this case being that the SC person is a fraud.

02:13:40 (Bonin) Mais je suis à fond à cabrer depuis tout à l'heure!
"But I've had the stick back the whole time!"
That's a real double-facepalm moment....

I read somwhere the pilot on that flight has never flown since. I'm sure it would be a dreadful feeling.

Article in Pop Mech: "What Really Happened Aboard Air France 447"
"We now understand that, indeed, AF447 passed into clouds associated with a large system of thunderstorms, its speed sensors became iced over, and the autopilot disengaged. In the ensuing confusion, the pilots lost control of the airplane because they reacted incorrectly to the loss of instrumentation and then seemed unable to comprehend the nature of the problems they had caused. Neither weather nor malfunction doomed AF447, nor a complex chain of error, but a simple but persistent mistake on the part of one of the pilots."

You are right Kevin, I missed the 'recreational' part. Yeah UV and weather kill an aircraft in Australia. With tensioned fabric structures quite cheap there is no good reason to leave a valuable aircraft uncovered long term. Even a slip-on cover would help a lot (I forget the name of them).Hi, no, the original question specifically says 'recreational private licence'. I am curious as to who parks their plane out in the open. I used to fly Warriors that were left outside and the interiors were pretty dam frumpy....Mohammad S if you search the forum you will find accurate pricing on Jabiru ownership as an indication. Hangarage / tie down costs are going to be quite location variable; most recommended to store an aircraft covered where possible.
-
OK this is confusing, since the recent site name change this question could refer to any sort of aircraft. GA? Experimental? LSA? Military? Twin? Amphib?

Great article on this topic in the NY Post a couple of days ago: Hey they still let us drive.
"Imagine if cars hadn’t been around for a century, but instead were just invented today. Is there any way they’d be approved for individual use? It’s an era of bans on incandescent bulbs; if you suggested putting millions of internal-combustion engines out there, you’d get looks like you were Hitler proposing the Final Solution.
Even aside from pollution, the government wouldn’t allow the risks to safety.
“So you’re proposing that people speed around in tons of metal? You must mean only really smart, well-trained people?”
“No. Everyone. Even stupid people.”
“Won’t millions be killed?”
“Oh, no. Not that many. Just a little more than 40,000 a year.”
“And injuries?”
“Oh . . . millions.”
There’s no way that would get approved today.
Driving is basically a grandfathered freedom from back when people cared less about pollution and danger and valued progress and liberty over safety. They had different equations related to human life then: We could lose 10,000 men in a single battle in a war and call it a victory.
We’re talking foolhardy people who eventually sent men to the moon strapped to a giant rocket that had less computational power than it takes to calculate the trajectory of an Angry Bird. Their kids dangled from jungle gyms over pavement."

Fantastic! Tempted to take a digital recording and replay over a loudspeaker during flight. Maybe next time I go by the Goolwa area....

Saw some photos of the Lockheed YO-3 'quiet star' at Edwards AFB, very interesting Vietnam war era aircraft. The prop was geared down to about 800 rpm & serious exhaust mufflers etc. Maybe not being able to hear the aircraft going overhead would creep some people out too.

"The Federal Aviation Administration said Tuesday that pilots on American Airlines flights would be allowed to use iPads instead of paper flight manuals in the cockpit starting Friday, as reported by ZDNet, even during takeoff and landing. But passengers are still required to shut down anything with the slightest electronic pulse from the moment a plane leaves the gate until it reaches an altitude of 10,000 feet."

What does that mean f_t?

Good article, & nice input SAJF. It's not often a newspaper will include the positive side also, negative and scary being the sellers. I take it this is a free paper?
My local paper is dubbed "The weekly carp" and it goes directly to trash without being opened.

Sounds insane I know, but freakishly true. They've really lost the plot.
-
Yes, that's the good part - NASA are sidelined by private enterprise. They can get back to their core business of climate data manipulation and Moslem outreach whilst hitching an occasional space ride with the Russians when they have the room.

Welcome Ron!
Can I ask how did you go with Murphy Aircraft Manufacturing? Are they still in business? I tried phoning them (they never answer) and emailing both tech support and the owner over a period of some months now, can never get a response not even a one-liner. Figured Murphy builders are out on their own after kit purchase.
