Can someone please explain what these two were trying to do? Or is it unknown?

Fantastic to hear that engine as it chows down on the juice.

Some sweet air machines.... the GoPro cameras seem to work real well when there is no propeller involved.
"For a year, F-15 fighter pilots used mountable GoPro Hero cameras to capture footage that was compiled in a video to commemorate the 67th Fighter Squadron winning the 2011 Raytheon Trophy for outstanding aerial achievement."

Welcome shu77!
I've not flown a Tecnam but I understand they are considered easier to fly than a Jabiru, I'm sure others with hands-on experience in them will chime in. I'd say go for it....
-
Generalising but I understand three blades will be smoother and typically quieter and a well designed version will often still be more efficient than a poorer-designed two blade.

Welcome Popuppete1!
Parts that are known to wear should ideally be replaced before 10 years. But yes in general Jabiru could also be a bit more pro-active in their advice.

Being not from Sydney and 'young and naive at the time' as Gillard says - was out the door real fast when reality dawned!

That situations isn't so funny, similar thing happened to me. I sold some equipment to a new Sydney nightclub years ago then a few weeks later I called on them (mid afternoon thankfully) to see how it was going. After standing around for 15 minutes waiting to talk to the guy I had dealt with it slowly dawned on me that there were only men in there & all were chatting huddled into close sort of groups. Seemed like a bit of fresh air via the front door was a good thing about then, I always avoid that section of Oxford Street (poxford the locals call it) street now.

The Advertiser are reliably wrong, I wouldn't stress about anything I read in that fishwrap particularly if it seems a bit senseless as this "1977 land agreement" does.
-
You should be able to find a furniture carrier who would blanket wrap and transport this for $250 - $300.
-
If you don't need security & just want to keep the weather out the cheapest would probably be a tensioned fabric structure.

Hey David, what is your shop called? I was looking to buy some prescription sunglasses $1100 here, $400 in the US.Not a pilot yet, but I do have a tennis shop in the states. I sell a brand of sunglasses called Maxx HD.On the avionics I refuse to buy until it comes with a full Head-up display!
C'mon Dynon, you can do it.... -
The Jab170 just floats and floats.
The flaps used to work better. About 18 months ago the factory came out with an edict reducing the max flap angle.

Yeah I think horsefeathers has pretty much nailed it. You aren't ever going to see man-made / anthropogenic global warming by observation. As Dorothea put it this has always been a country of "droughts and flooding rains".
So the only way to accept AGW is to believe it by faith. You can listen to the doctrines and predictions of the well paid climate prophets and read their encyclicals like S-A. You will need to overlook their own lifestyles not matching their own dire predictions. You will need to overlook the data fiddling and at other times the refusals to reveal source data under FOI. And overlook the many failed predictions and the fact the computer models the prophets use are unable to accurately predict the current global climate, trusting instead that their future predictions are going to be correct. Also accept their own self agreement and strong censorship of those who disagree; you need to understand majority consensus is the scientific process of today. And as H-F says this is all tied into ones political beliefs i.e. the denomination one adheres to (evil party vs stupid party).
This system works well for kids that have grown up unquestioningly accepting what the school teacher / Uni lecturer taught them. On the original post in my opinion the Tony / Liberal 'climate policy' is indeed stupidity, as are the climate policies of the others. Conveniently many of the climate prophets appear to be on the public teat so it's all sweet while sufficient numbers of Joe public keep buying it.

"Last month CASA completed a five day surveillance sweep.... People and organisations were shown CASA’s latest safety education and information products and tools"
Get swept into the re-education camp also Dazza?

PS: agree with you that it would be easier for J McC to do nothing.

Welcome Peter! Gather Lake Ayre & the Simpson would be constrast-y to flying around Cairns.... love to do all that one day.
-
Yeah this is a real problem, at least 1 hour each way means just to do a few circuits is realistically a half day exercise.
-
Well now we have figured out how to control the global climate, that's pretty big no?How different the world is today. How much smaller our aspirations, our dreams. And all it took was to dumb down education, especially maths.

The basic ingredient is cheap so before long I would expect it to be reasonable price, plus with a coating only a few microns thick a little goes a long way. It has been tested on trains and is undergoing certification in Europe for aircraft use. When you figure it actually prevents ice formation / adhesion the aircraft use becomes much more than just keeping bugs off the leading surfaces.Wow that looks fantastic. I bet it will be expensive for a can. I can think of some really good uses for it's application. -
I bought some Nuvite metal from Frasers Aerospace recently, they were saying apparently 'Aeroglas' will be available soon which will be a 'game changer' as they say - this is a new hydrophobic liquid glass solution. A similar US product:

How to get to Mars.

Dazza you really need to visit Africa. They are certainly not overpopulated - the entire population of earth could live comfortably on that one continent which has the most abundant resources of all. The problems in Africa are much more basic like laziness and corruption.
Agree wasting money on Mars is foolish, especially for bankrupt country. I liked the bouncing Michelin man though.
