  1. Desperation over ruling sound Judgement. The Casualty is TRUST. AND most People do not WANT this.. dare I say, "Obsessive" Behaviour. . Nev
  2. Bl**dy Hell You are getting worse by the Minute. SKIP. Nev
  3. You are bringing Gliders into the equation Todays gliders are extremely aerodynamic AND expensive. . Nev
  4. Anyhow you can't beat the reliability of Jet Motors but they Have NO Personality at all and are relatively Much more easy to manage. In a single engined Plane I'm always very Conscious of what I'm Flying OVER. MODERN twin Engined Jets HAVE plenty of Power on ONE. and they will GLIDE 100NM from FL 310.. Nev
  5. They are reputed to be very Pleasant on the controls. I've flown with MANY exWW2 Pilots Most of whom NEVER bring up the subject of the WAR at all. They had too many Mates who didn't come back and many finished the war with About 350 Hours total time. They got the equal of being thrown Into the Atlantic to Learn to Swim. Nev
  6. A mention of control FEEL with Jabiru's "Bowden" push Pull cables is worth a Mention. Overall I think the 230 is a Pretty good Plane. IF the engine gets Hot on a hot day Increase the climb speed keeping in Mind any ground obstacles.. Nev
  7. Not sure being as BAD is the answer. Nev
  8. What IS your Message other than' this New Plane has Nothing going for it? ' and you won't SHUT UP about it. .You dish plenty out. Learn to take a bit BACK. Anyone else would read the Mood and give it a rest. Nev
  9. I have Knocked Back a flight in things like that. I have no desire to be Over Houses with a single engine that is very old and glides at about 100 Kts IF it stops. Merlins in those Planes had a TBO of about 200 Hours . They also have a very high P factor with the Prop. Get a Bit slow with nose up and apply power and it will roll uncontrollably. Nev.
  10. You WILL PAY a Bit for any time in one of those. Nev
  11. SOMEBODY HAS To DO IT. FLARE (arrest descent) Touchdown and Ground Roll describes it. There is also the 3 Pointer or a wheel IT on, "wheeler" technique. for tail wheel aircraft. 2 distinctly different techniques, best decided on BEFORE you get there. Nev
  12. What about C-130's ATRs and F27s .Cessna Caravans." Probably" is not a useful term if you are designing something. Struts ARE a good way to strengthen a wing and save weight in the wing structure without a critical carry through spar restricting Headroom. and failing from fatigue. Access to doors is easier in a HIGH wing , but making a retractable gear can be harder. Nev
  13. You say "each to his own' and then rat on forever trying to make this Plane out to be everything wrong in every respect.. Very light plane can mean very small engine. The whole thing is a concept and I think it's BRILLIANT. How about giving it credit? What design have YOU Produced? Stop just being a KNOCKER. They are a dime a dozen.. Nev
  14. A good CHUCK Glider can easily get lost on a thermally day if trimmed right. Nev
  15. It doesn't look very draggy and is very Light. My wife's zero turn Mower is a V twin OHV two barrel Carburetter engine of 24.5 HP and it works Hard in Long grass and doesn't use a Lot of fuel. Also Air cooled Motors run at hotter More thermally efficient Temperatures That engine would be just loafing at 21 Hp. It depends on the L/D of the aeroplane and how good the Prop is at making thrust. Direct drive Means Maximum efficiency. Gears use more power than a chain, but nothing is best of all. IF it was a glider it would stay in the air with very little Power. Nev
  16. A C-180 has pretty ordinary forward Vision till you get the Tail up..
  17. I can't think of too many Mid wing Light aircraft. They are complex to build. Nev
  18. Yeah. FACTS can sure Muck up a Good Story. Nev
  19. How would YOU Really KNOW? You are fixated and your needle is stuck. The MARKET will decide and we are the better for things like this Being available. You are Just a Chronic Knocker.. continuing to display your Ignorance publicly. There's DOers and Knockers. Nev
  20. Absolute BS Skip. It performs WELL. You constantly SHOW what you don't know. I have nightmares at night Dreaming I've been assigned as your Flying Instructor. We are Limited by AUW and stall speed. and cost. Our Performance envelope is restricted.. by many inherent factors. Just WHAT IS your "Thing". Talking endlessly about getting things cheap. Emotionally Blackmailing people into responding to your Propositions and then Putting Them in a Box of your creation to neutralise the Value of an Opposing opinion. to yours. It's JUST NOT Worth the effort Skip. Nev
  21. Parallelling the strip Make a Turnback more likely to be Possible as well. Pre plan any of this BEFORE you start your take off roll to avoid the " Startle Factor". and loss of time reacting. Nev
  22. The stumps are the hard Part Leaving holes and root ends making it hard to level off and Mow. . Newly cleared land will have a great crop of weeds and rubbish seeding. Nev
  23. And totally DEAF to facts because HE HAS his OWN "Facts" OR Preconceptions and there's NO POINT IN trying to convince him other wise.. . Nev
  24. You need the Stumps removed as well. Aero clubs are another Club where Wannabees rise to fame if you let them. Nev
  25. I don't Know if I've ENJOYED saying what I have , I've never seen an engine of that size used in control line . We considered the control lines would have too much drag. I'm interested. Don't take it as a "snob" thing as it wasn't intended as such.. Nev
