  1. Wheeled equipment does Cause soil compaction but it's pretty effective generally and Aerial Dusting is extremely risky and expensive. Weed control often needs attention to some specific areas of Infestation on an individual basis. AGAIN spray drift IS important to your Neighbours. Some of this stuff is toxic and ruin things like fruit trees, for miles away. People have to live near many of these crops as well. Nev
  2. I'm not game to Post either as I KNOW there's PLENTY of people just waiting to cut down me down. I wish you would just stick to Facts and not sling $#! because you don't like Me. THAT should NOT come into it. They are Not a "FEW" lighthearted Comments either. They are NASTY and personal and they demean this site, a bit like pPrune. WE have lost a lot of Worthy contributors because it's just NOT worth putting up with the BS quite frankly. Many times I've asked Myself "WHY do I Bother"? Well one I want to support IAN and also IF I help even one person occasionally to do things better and they survive It will be worth it..Nev
  3. Less "spray drift" with Ground equipment especially when shrouded. If you don't watch where your spray goes you will be in court quick time. Contractors do this stuff. you don't own the equipment unless you are BIG time. Nev
  4. Why would the Oil even flow at the temperatures there? At similar Temps (at the Poles) oil systems have to be diluted or Heated. Check Oil 'Pour Point'. SUCKING only lowers pressure differential. In a vacuum it doesn't work at all. Nev
  5. I'm pretty certain the Cause will be found. Nev
  6. Lay off you Sods. Haven't your tiny Minds got anything better to do than deride People? Neither of you have come up with Much of value to any discussionso far. Rotax are not fail Proof and they are designed and built by Humans Not Mandrake or God. Treat ALL engines as though they can fail and you'll live longer. Learn any weakness and allow for it. . Not everyone can afford such Gear. We still need a good simple cheap Motor in the < 100 HP range. Nev.
  7. No one concerned about the High Exhaust gas Temps? That's what you get with Turbocharging. Nev
  8. EGPT's 1750? nev
  9. You don't HAVE to read it but some others MIGHT LIKE to. Engines come up a lot unless you fly gliders. Spifire crashes ARE part of the discussion Sorry MY contributions get UP your Nose but it's YOU that has the problem. I don't put stuff here to cause agro. IF you think MY FACTS are wrong say so. Don't character assassinate people. It's NOT Nice . Nev
  10. They have been using forklifts to remove engines Lately, causing a bit of concern as the Structures get strained. It was previously done in two steps. Pod and engine. Nev
  11. You don't read what I say carefully and when I call your attention to it you start hurling Insults. It doesn't make this Forum a nice place to be and suitable for discussing things in depth.. Nev
  12. You are Making no sense at all. Wasting my time. Nev
  13. The right engine is on the ground with No Pod attached. Nev
  14. Sounds like a good Idea. Nev
  15. Read what I said Carefully, before slinging Muck. I said it was a Wide angle 2 TWO valve head. Just like the Miller I referred to. Built about 50 years earlier. I'll take an apology anytime. You too skippy. Nev
  16. The bit that goes in your ear is a good fit. A special mold is taken of YOUR ears to ensure that it is. Nev
  17. It seemed more near the front of the Plane to Me. Nev
  18. Where did I say that Danny? There's not much of that Block to Play around with. Big Money spent. Wide angle Two Valve head . Very dated design . Miller had that in the Late 20's. IF you want FACTS. Nev
  19. Good on you for Looking after it and having it survive. It has Historical significance . I don't restore Old stuff because it's Good/better or seek to modify it Unless it's ABSOLUTELY essential. Some of it has bloody awful engineering but that's Part of the Deal. Use it within it's LIMITS and Keep it alive and functioning Modern stuff is really SO GOOD and cheap compared to the older exotica If you want to be Practical. Nev
  20. The real ball is damped by the fluid in the Glass, It's a BALANCE (slip/skid) only. The Turning "thing" is the ears semicircular Canals. You don't have to speculate about this. It's covered in Human Factors and other references. After a while the inner ear ceases to register the TURNING and if you stop turning it thinks you are going the other way. The seat of the Pants detects accelerations and "G" changes. Nothing is there to tell which way you are going unless you SEE it. Nev
  21. How Many Demerit Points is that? Hey! I think I wanna Be a Messenger
  22. I didn't complete the L2 as I was told I could NOT refuse work on anyone's Plane. I found that unacceptable as I knew they were hopeless and did a lot of their work Undocumented and you had no control of it so I won't put MY name to it. Nor would I fly the Planes they owned. You have to be able to Pick and choose who you work for When it an aircraft. Keep away from people who will drag you down with them. Nev
  23. Do you know the full circumstances of THAT, Keith? I'm of the view it's not as Clear cut as that. It's easy to Judge. Nev
