I guess the big question Mike
I guess the big question Mike... How does it fly? Its like an Ra-Aus Caravan... I like it...Hi, my name is mike sharples,i have been busy these past couple of years building my new designed fuselage that i have strapped a couple of jabiru 250 wings to ,should be finnished around new year. I look forward to showing at temora at easter [email protected] -
I have read several threads on the reliability of several types of motor... I thought this question may be of interest.
What are the firewall forward costs/availability of the different Ra-Aus suitable powerplants... Just ball park figure and starting with the cheapest...?
I have no idea... anyone with real world figures... ?

This NZ Trade site is interesting... there is a lot more than just Bantams for sale too... if this is any indication it shows that our cousins have a thriving second hand aircraft trade.

I wonder what the cost/feasibility is off importing a Bantam from New Zealand... there are a lot for sale "over there"...

I agree... and the fact that they seem to be responding to warranty claims is a good thing...
My perception of the Jabiru, indeed any LSA style aircraft, is that they are delicate machines...
As for the Jabiru motor... well it may not be the most reliable engine in Ra-Aus use... but it seems that it is in second place behind the Rotax912... that is still quite an achievement.

I was impressed by the photos I have seen of the aircraft at Natfly...

GDL... this is the XPT Website for Syd-Bne trains...
The Texan is a wonderful aircraft in my opinion and the opinion of everyone I know who has flown one... You may be able to find one to fly in South East Qld while you are in Caloundra. I did my first solo in a Texan and now fly a Savanah S...

I would rather not have to claim on the warranty of any piece of equipment that I purchase... So I agree with the sentiment. I would rather have a board member who is prepared to ask these questions... It is not just on this forum that the Jabiru has a certain "reputation"... if any board member was unaware or afraid to comment I would be worried.

I don't know if I mentioned... but the train journey from Brisbane to Sydney is worthwhile and a good way to see some of the country.

Thanks Ross...

You gotta go to Australia Zoo... you really get amongst the animals. They have buses from all around the local area (including Caloundra)...

Australia is a BIG country... you won't be able to see everything. I guess Google is your best friend... You could spend 2 weeks quite easily in South East Queensland. Plan say 3-4 days to go for a good fly somewhere...Best bet is to plan on hiring a car for at least part of the time...preferably with a GPS. If you want to just chilax on a beach... take your pick and enjoy. There is certainly no lack of beautiful beaches, every one more beautiful than the last.

Caloundra... South East Qld... does have some good flying opportunities... Do you guys know about Ra-Aus?
You should be able to google a fair bit of info...

What exactly is an "electronic flight bag"?

With the new technology available there is no excuse for not having lots of photos... lol My best camera is my current phone... it does ok for photos and videos.

Hongie... Pax and X-country...Then Sailplane rating? Then perhaps a PPL...
-
Or should I say certificate.
-
Yes... its been a long time waiting. I now have a license to continue learning.
-
Bloody good effort I say... I like the Rv9a philosophy. It seems to have a very nice wing for our purposes...
-
The thing I don't get... if something is OK to talk facts about in a phone conversation then it isn't confidential/secret... So what gives? Why not just state it here...

Just saw that add again...
