I believe from reading the link in the Savanah vs 701 post that the Ibis came from the same pen... thus certainly has a fine pedigree...

Its crazy... this is our Oshkosh and there is no Webpage to show what its all about. What a shame.
-
What is the history of the engine Pud? Was it with the aircraft when you bought it?
-
Just don't bring him back... lol....take a reporter for a fly??????-

Well done Burbles... and good luck.

Thanks JR... The credit is really due to the people and pilots back then... I just digitalized it.
Yes that is the old Mount Isa Copper Smelter stack.

Interestingly she has emergency exits in rows 13 and 14, unlike the usual for DJ 738's of 14/15... and more aircraft like this on the way... I am guessing it has something to do with the seating configuration. We have not seen her in Mackay yet.

Call me twisted but I do think the Thrust has a certain very original kind of beauty...lol
-
She is beautiful! Good luck.

True Ross. My earliest memory is of my Dad deliberately ground looping her when the cable broke when they were experimenting with reflex launching in the outback. Its a strange thing because if you are talking sensibly there is no way I could remember this... I was less than a year old but it has been etched in my mind all my life. So I guess you could say this is the second time I have seen a minor oops with her... She is such a beautiful flying machine that touches me like no other.

This is my Dad's former Libelle... He had a long association with this sailplane from the late 60's to the 80's... I almost cried when I saw this.

Creeeeeeeeeehist! 20 tonnes of aircraft spinning... Yes I said spinning... like a top! If ground crew was working around this aircraft or pax disembarking that little "clip" could have resulted in multiple fatalities. This just makes me shudder!

How do I like a whole thread?... this has been fascinating and educational to follow the replies and the outcome. Good work all.
Is there a thread of the year award? lol
-
Ah... Now I get it. Still a big accomplishment and one I look forward to in the future.
-
Congratulations Pete... Took a while to realize you were announcing your first solo due to the name of the post lol.
HEY EVERYONE.... GET IN HERE AND CONGRATULATE ANOTHER SOLO PILOT!
-
I believe that in order for 600kgs the aircraft must be E-Lsa... in order for an aircraft to be E-Lsa it must be a kit version of the factory built Lsa... and Zenith I presume doesn't make an Lsa Ch750?

Watching the videos should clear it up for the missus and save you a lot of mucking around.
-
I have seen a Youtube video of people Hang gliding down to the pitch from up high in the stalls probably in the same place...
-
Nothing like a good dose of indignation... clogs the arteries and clouds the judgement.

The story first came to light in the late 70's... and referred to a man in Boston. Been doing the rounds since then with some details changed... The one big factor that proves it is baloney is the $0.00 check... the idea that this could shut down a computer system is pretty far out.
Its a well known urban myth.
-
Funny... but obviously a load of baloney. Still... wouldn't it be nice if you could get companies such as lets just say... Telstra.. to compensate for mucking us around the way they do.
-
Pow... now you need the photo from your first solo as you profile picture.
-
Way to go Pow!

Flight from Brunai to Wollongong.
