  1. (Just discovered it is Air Service's job to remove airports.) Yeah, thanks. I know it is a big country and they may be/are short staffed. It just caught me off guard that it is still shown.
  2. Ok, well I am playing with OzRunways now.... RED FLAG for me - not against the program itself but..... YPFT (polo flat airport) was DECOMMISSIONED YEARS AGO! Why is it still showing up on the map/chart?
  3. Hi Facthunter. You lost me with that post. Oooh! Cute. Just my size!
  4. Yes, but .... (*what's the term?*) bargain regret? How things evolve and the sudden expanded need for memory...... Nothing worse than needing and not having rather than having and not needing. And I'd prefer a bigger screen.
  5. Refurbished iPad Wi-Fi+Cellular 256GB - Space Grey (9th Generation) A$869.00 From apple store (Not an apple person) https://www.apple.com/au/shop/product/FK2N3X/A/refurbished-ipad-wi-fi-256gb-space-grey-9th-generation?fnode=97dc7b0389b5a10c4bc881d962dbf62058f68847102e04a03270daec9f1939d2ffedd4edc4ab3edf5aecafa15708a18bc66a27f1053e4f5d6201abd74c1347013ad6681c6a91ba9705432f122fbb555b
  6. Wow, Summer hill? 2130!!

    I live in Ashfield 2131.

    Wow.

  7. Sod's law. I asked, you replied and I got a notification. Sorry, but thanks.
  8. Sorry this may not be the best area, but I couldn't find a better named area. To the best of my knowledge they are turned on. But in my recent post on Aus Runways, I'm getting replies, but no notifications. Could someone point me step by step how to check my notifications settings? Thanks in advance.
  9. Thanks again all for the replies. Gee, APPLE are not helping themselves. As much as security is a good thing to have, it makes an endoscopy look enjoyable. It is shameful how poor their customer service is - IMO. (Not humble) Maybe once you are "indoctrinated" to their world, things are nice. But for people wanting to "turn to the dark side" they are nearly their own worst enemy.
  10. So, the specs I posted above... That is good enough for the needs. It will have little life other than EFB.
  11. > I am pretty happy , on balance, with my new $370 Samsung + Oz runways But the specs of that tablet are? To me that is a tease. On a side note: I hear the apple app version are better than the android - now after talking to some one. The say there are functions/features that aren't available on the android. If only money tree was more healthy just now. But life is life and you have to make hard choices.
  12. Refurbished iPad Wi-Fi+Cellular 256GB - Space Grey (9th Generation) A$869.00 Good?
  13. I *thought* (yes, dangerous) there was a screen size minimum and the mini wasn't up to spec.
  14. Ok, I'll confuse myself more than I am. So AvPlan is an alternate - yes? Pros/Cons of each? VFR FLYING! P.S. I've watched Stef's youtube video on the two. Thanks in advance again.
  15. I'm guessing that is another option to OzRunways?
  16. I would need you to qualify what you mean by that. All things being equal, I don't understand. BTW, I'm only doing VFR flights.
  17. I've just heard the Apple echo system is somewhat...... different and .... Although if I get a secondhand one I guess I am kind of free from some of that. Thanks though. I guess I have to keep an open mind. Could you give me a couple of examples of which ones would be good to get/use? Models.
  18. I have an old tablet (android 4.3 I think) It is out of support for upgrades of the O/S. So what tablet would I need to get to be at least be a bit of future compatible. Android preferable. I'm not an Apple person. Tab S6 Lite is one but I am not sure it would work. Thanks in advance.
  19. Bosi72, Thanks for reminding me.... I've updated my status. 5 years no flying is not fun.
  20. Yeah, that's where I'm torn. As good as the graphics are in M$'s version I've heard it is a lot less realistic. But yes, if XP are being difficult...... $2000+ worth of hardware sitting here as addons. 😞 I'd really like to use them. But still not sure which one is the better one.
  21. Thanks for that.... How is 11 then? I HAD MSFS ... version 9 - I think - way back in 2000. And had/have a heap of stuff that plugs into it (Hardware / instruments) that would be nice to be able to use on the NEW setup I am making. Be it XP or MS.
  22. I am trying to use the DEMO version and am getting no end of grief when I use/start it. I have a FFB USB (Saitek) joystick. It has 4 axis. Pitch, roll, rudder, and throttle. When XP-12 starts and I calibrate the joystick, three are 5 axis shown. The people who write XP-12 aren't being much help blaming the fact the joystick is 20 years old. But if I open the windows calibrate setting, there is only 4 axis shown. So this extra axis is being created by XP-12 to my best guess. And - another annoyance: EVERY TIME I load XP-12 ALL/ANY calibrations are LOST and I have to re-calibrate the joystick. I have rudders and other stuff, but haven't got to doing them yet. Anyone here have any ideas what is going on?
  23. Yes, I get that IAS and GS are two different animals. But I got the speed from the app - which I believe shows IAS. Anyway.... Seems it happens/happened.
  24. YSSY - "Fivedock" Not very far. I'll say less than 15 miles as the crow flies. It had just taken off - or was doing a very weird "fly by" to YSSY. So I don't get what you mean. And - yeah - I can only relay what the app said. But it was scooting along and I know that they don't usually go that fast over where I was. Which is why I noticed it.
