  1. MoneyBox, I'd be a bit worried because the picture shows 17/35 and yet the text says there is 18/36. and 08/26 but the text says 09/27. But to WHICH runway...... I'd say like any time you are landing: Depends on the winds/conditions
  2. Wow!
  3. I've watched the `changes to Bankstown airspave` video on Youtube. But as I'm not flying much these days.... 😞
  4. I saw this video which is the flip side of the one above - I think. I've been to Oshkosh 4 times. Alas never flown. And - before anyone says I am being biased - I do appreciate the work that goes into getting it working. In some ways this clip is frightening that all is not as good as what is claimed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rJEtpQ0r6A P.s. the person who made this has made other "releases" of the trip in this year. Dunno if they are any better than this, but they may have a better/different perspective to help explain the problems.
  5. Maybe. And just to check: Unusable or Unusual? But it would take a lot of "trust" in the plane to operate in those conditions - as they were close to it's minimums - and YOU being the one making the choices. Yes, "up north" it is/may be the norm. But you qualified it with WINTER. I'm not going to turn this int a pissing contest. I think they did a great job.
  6. Well I spent serious 4 digit money on what I have. Getting a 40x0 type gfx card just now.... Would probably mean a new MoBo too. Though I won't begrudge myself stuff - hey, at my stage: life is for living. All the other crap which I am seeing I need - privacy problems IMO - with M$ "tracking" me... No thanks. Not just now.
  7. BrendAn, I have FS 2020. Alas 2024 is not going to be got soon. I think it is beyond the specs of the machine. WRT the space problem. Alas another SSD HD is the only way I can think of to get around the problem.
  8. I apologise. It was your response that I missed. I got a notification and didn't read it. Just saw your name and this thread. But when I got "here" didn't see a "reply" - forgetting the laugh. So I asked. Mia culpa.
  9. Annoying news on a few fronts: 1 - it is FS2020. Not 2024. Oh well. 2 - I have 100GB free on the 😄 drive. NOT ENOUGH ROOM! 3 - My firewall gives me grief and I have XBOX and a lot of MS sites blocked.
  10. I have a $hit load of hardware with it. I've actually built a semi cockpit for it. Front panel for the FIP and MCP and side panel for the radio, knobs, etc. And throttles. Just finished doing some tests. (USB stuff) I have - there about: Saitek FFB stick. Pedals. Cheap ones - as in they are plastic. I think CH brand. They work. Breaks, rudder. Ch HOTAS for single engine stuff. (And now it begins) 4 - Saitek FID Go-Flight items: 1 - MCP 1 - TQ6 1 - ATC 2 - Radio panels ? - button bar (8 buttons) ? - switch bar (8 switches) 1 - 4 * knob and 8 * button bar There are powered USB hubs to concentrate some of the devices nto 1 cable back to the PC There is also a switched USB hug so I can turn off groups of devices if not needed. The FIP and MCU are on the same HUB - well, not completely. 😞 I have a digitek 10 port powered HUB. If I put the 5 devices into it, 1 or 2of the FIP don't initialise on boot. Tomorrow I will run FS for the first time and hope it gets it stuff together and I an then start testing/assigning the controls to the planes. Oh, machine specs: MSI Tomahawk 550 32 G ram 3.3 gig processor. AMD 1070 turbo GFX card. (I think.) 21 x 9 monitor. (Curved) Bought in 2020 for a lot of money. Still does good. Not prefect, but it holds its own for what I do with it.
  11. Skippy, I seem to have lost your reply. Sorry. I saw your name pop up with a reply but when I went to try and see it: gone. (Or did I not?) I got a few notifications and they confused me. But I am sure I did see a reply from you.
  12. I bought it - though I have the 2000 version on CD as well - because I have a "new" machine. So? I have a heap of "Go Flight" stuff and am curious how to get them working on the latest version. Way back in 2000, I also bought a little "plug-in" I think it was FSUIPC which is a program that allowed me to translate the GoFlight stuff to work on different planes. Someone/anyone?
  13. OK, so the question behind me asking. AFAICR the minimum altitude is 100 AGL unless landing. There are exceptions, but..... A mate lives somewhere and he claims small jets fly over his place lower than ....... Well, he doesn't know the rules. In the greater Sydney area - just for clarity. I suggested he gets/uses Flight radar 24 to see who they are and at what altitude they are at. I did mention that he may not see their ACTUAL altitude for the day's QNH but for the standard QNH. But I guess if the plane says 500 feet over where he is: there will be questions asked of the pilot. (Take screen shot and send it to the plane people.)
  14. When using, does it show the ACTUAL altitude or standard altitude that needs adjusting for the local QNH?
  15. I can't access flickr. Firewall rules. Oops. Sorry, read the wrong part as the reply. (I Need to go to spec savers) 😉
  16. I tried Handbrake, but it didn't like the Apple original format. 😞 I pointed to the directory and the file (Original) wasn't shown. 🤷‍♂️ Further digging I was told that I could "cheat" and run quick command to "convert" the MOV to MP4 and so did that. Sorry folks for the big size and not deleting the original failed attempt. I thought I deleted it and posted the new version in that post, but - obviously - that didn't happen.
  17. On the news. Small plane crashes into a tall building. (No, not good.) But the reporter then goes on to say: It is not known if anyone was in the plane. I'll say that again: It is not known if anyone was in the plane Seriously? I'd attach a video but it is 27 meg in size. I'm not sure of size limits here. Oh, the clip I have - as there are squillions now on the net - if C/O Ch 7. Who really know aviation terms.
