  1. Nice, Better to run after start at 2,200 RPM or a little (2,300) faster; whatever seems smoother. Below 2200 can lead to accumulated stress damage to gearbox clutches.
  2. Yep, It'll be like a where's wally search.
  3. One tip I'll give you is don't place a bet on your second sentence being right about me as you will be wrong about all three topics.
  4. Agree he needs to spend time a money with an instructor so he understands the meaning and use. He will learn it's not just a comms out for help; it requires all others who hear to take note of message (don't transmit for a period and continue to monitor) and if in a period it's not replied to then transmit a relay. Seems just more expression of his knowledge, lack of and personal opinion that at times sours the spirit of this wonderful forum. Cheers and safe flying to all.
  5. Mark out a cross strip as part of your home strip 1.01 N'mls towards YRDY and problem solved. May have to work with neighbour. 🙃😊👌👍😁
  6. Yep, Grave and eminent danger.
  7. Six years ago did a trip to Bowen River Pub / rodeo and return. Land on the road to the dump. Always a good feed there and welcomed by the publican and staff. Can either camp or rent a donga room when the camp drafts and rodeo events are not on. Bwn Riv 2018 PCversion.mp4
  8. My DI includes light push each side of radiator and oil cooler checking for movement also grab and give a shake to the main gear legs and other things.
  9. Looks like a game video.
  10. It only 4 way crimps the particular pins and sockets used by trig. You would have to compare your connectors with this particular crimper. The Stienair site will show the size it fits or Trig radio install manual lists the mil spec of the connectors. If same as yours this would be the tool to get, otherwise you can buy new or used 'Dainels' brand tools however expensive. (You can purchase used 'Daniels' crimpers and dyes that are still crimping to satisfactory specs) Have a look at their webb site as they are an aviation supply shop.
  11. I bought one of these, two removal and insert tools and some extra spare male and female pins. For my Trig radio and transponder hook up. Stienair is the USA company good to deal with.

One of these is coming up for sale soon as owner has another aircraft getting close to flying. The image may not be his aircraft as I don’t have its rego to check at present however it is the same model and painted yellow with green. PM if you would like his contact. Ed
  13. Took the Nynja for a fly on the weekend to Lake Dunn, a 207 N/ml each way and stayed overnight. 29 aircraft attended the catchup. It's never an advertised event as it's just a by word of mouth catchup of flying friends. The strip is to be extended about 100 meters to comply with RFDS aircraft requirements. The strip was in perfect surface condition. Weather was excellent and tail winds of about 15 knots each way so can not complain. Lake Dunn August 2025 with text.mp4
  14. Had a great overnight fly out to Lake Dunn a nicely prepared strip surface and is planned to be lengthened a bit for Royal Flying Doctor requirements / use. Weather was mint, great company and good feeds. It's a 207 N/ml flight from my home strip. Lake Dunn August 2025.mp4
  15. Seems he had the gear down and landed ok, then during taxi inadvertently retracted. He's a good bloke so will have to get used to copping comments from his mates.
  16. Thanks onetrack; I posted to inform and seek any comments from members who have recently or are about to renew (via apple pay or other, I finished up just going through their webb site and then PayPal) I wonder what percentage the receiver of the payment pays for the service?
  17. I just went to renew my subscription of ozRunways on my mini Ipad it took me to Apple pay and renewal listed for VFR Premium $254.99. I decided to check renewal via my laptop and it was $219 for VFR Premium so renewed that way. Surprised at the difference $35.99 ???
  18. Dad may have to explain the merits of a fixed undercarriage to him, insurance may also. 2nd I think may be wrong.
  19. Yes, both front and back seats of tandem. I was not knocking your choice or stating mine just saying what I believe is hands down the most popular seating configuration for two seaters.
  20. Biggest market is side by side, very social / comfortable to most and choice of passengers.
  21. Refueled at Ceduna.
  22. They often correct or improve the aerodynamics of the profile, easiest way to sort flight characteristics sort of redesign. Looks like RV15 designed well and therefore not needed.
  23. I have been doing annuals and other maintenance on two A32's for a few years now (one is the one mentioned above and started post the incident) I believe they could do with a positive locking method added to the area at or near the forward most point of the door as the door closes into a form or recess and a positive mechanical locking method would be a good upgrade. Just my opinion.
  24. A friend of mine experienced a windscreen failure of a A32 Vixxen just after takeoff at Shuteharbour airstrip a few years back. He was not the PIC at the time but soon took command due to his experience. He has viewed the video as I told him about it and he is not a member and gave permission to post his account. He advises that they couldn't talk to each other because thier headsets were gone down the back ... inside fortunately, but way out of reach. His GoPro went with them. The Windscreen both sides was gone - fortunately without carving them up. After the initial shock, it became clear they would survive. Controls were ok. The big bang occurred just after takeoff 14. So there we were - 500 feet, 5600 rpm, 70kt ias. The vis was good but they had to return the long way left circuit around Pioneer Point. Both doors were doing their best to open, but didn't. That was one of his biggest concerns actually because he did not know how open doors would affect IAS. They had lifejackets on, but not a great place to go swimming. He had to watch the doors venting 70kts of airflow through gaps all the way around the longest circuit I ever flew. To avoid traffic, we hugged the coastline all the way back to a very short final 14. The air was full of Cessna Caravans (tour operators) but we could not communicate with anybody. My eyeballs were working overtime. After landing the local mechanic greeted us with "wow, and he thought that was the cleanest windscreen I'd ever seen". Hah, anyway all's well that ends well ... and something to chat about over a beer in the bar.
