1. Doug you are not caught in-between unless you have a commercial interest in this engine - please use the PM system for these types of posts

Use the forums but don't abuse them and that goes to me as well, use me for the forums but don't abuse me.

If I wasn't to make a small % on the master and i have already said that that % is extremely small compared to every other aircraft sales then I wouldn't bring them in nor world I have the money to put food on the table causing me to go off to work Mon-Fri and I would then decide to no longer get home from work and then spend my nights managing the forums so I would just close them up and not spend any money on them, the money that i am making from the master and clear prop. I spend money I make from these activities in providing something for you and others completely FREE - who else does that???

  2. He is the Chairman and Director of the company and stands to make a lot of money from the engine when it is released and any pre-release promotion of the engine is regarded as commercial. However, as it was of interest to all as things like this are they should be open to discuss here in the forums so I naturally let it go simply because it was interesting information. He then started cross posting around the forums so it went from "good" posting information to promotion. In order to just contain the situation and continue the information flow in proper manner for the forums I sent him a PM simply saying that this was not allowed and asked him to be careful. I then received a PM back from him that was not very nice. Instead of him just simply replying with a sorry Ian I won't cross post any more it was the exact opposite. It blew up from there and so if that is his attitude in the way he treats people then I don't want him here. I will definitely not ever consider buying his engine from him when it is released as I would hope that I would be dealing with someone that didn't act that way especially when it comes to support. he is hiding behind the fact that the engine is in development yet he owns or runs the company who will get all the proceeds.

A gentlemanly response would have been met with a thankyou by me and the matter forgotten! - if a public apology was given and a promise to stick by the rules of the forums it would be reconsidered

Post Note - many others have come back with a decent reply - that will always get me on the right side!

Post Post Note - The PM system should be used for any further comments regarding this

  3. Guys, I would be very careful when considering this revetec engine. Make sure the support is there and that you are sure that if you ever do have a problem it will be met with good support as this goes with any engine. Being new it is unproven, support is unknown but only time will tell - just my opinion

  4. Power has gone at my place and my 100ft trees are bending over backwards. I live in one of the flight paths for YMML but haven't heard or seen an aircraft all day except for one what looked like a private lear jet go shooting across the sky at some great rate of knots.

I never thought I would thank Telstra for anything but I have my laptop and telstra wireless providing to my internet sickness - it sure is darn windy here at the moment - the roads are covered in trees and debris

  5. Here are some happy snaps of the TV and Radio enhancement

    1. The general viewing screen

    2. A bigger view screen - this even has the ABC for kids TV Channel

    3. List of TV and Radio stations - 3 pages so far to chose from

    4. Listening to the radio - you can select specific channels as your favourites

    5. Your favourites are displayed in your profile

A BIG WARNING though - not suited to dial up or for those that have a limited amount of monthly data use on the internet but still, it is great to listen to a radio station or ATC from some airport around the world like Heathrow whilst you are browsing the forums

  6. I have just been working on the Radio and TV enhancement and I seem to have got it fairly stable in Internet Explorer but it doesn't seem very stable when changing television stations in Firefox 068_angry.gif.cc43c1d4bb0cee77bfbafb87fd434239.gif - it is great though - I was listening to radio stations from all around the world while browsing my test forums and then decided to start watching Fox Footy, switched over to Bigpond news and then watched Bigponds music chanel.

Remember I said the objective of the forums for this year was to make them more fun and more sociable. Did you know that if you get a high score in the Arcade and then someone else beats you then a PM is sent letting you know that. Also have you noticed the tournaments that can be played in the Arcade between several players.

There are still some more big things coming like separate sub forums for clubs so club members can discuss anything happening at their aero club and let's not forget the video special presentations - it's all happening right here in your forums!

  7. No Mate - no can of worms - Toe Brakes are something I would like also - my Gazelle has them and my CT didn't. But these are all things that I think we will achieve over a period of time as we learn more about the aircraft which is why I can't wait to get my hands on one to start with but please, keep the ideas coming as it all helps

  8. Toe brakes WILL be one of the things that I will be talking about when I get over there again as I mentioned - I just don't want to hold things up by asking for more and then it takes time to develop etc. I presume that there can never be an aircraft that has everything that everyone wants unfortunately but the important thing is that we all have such a huge choice of aircraft in types, performance, design etc in the recreational category which is why flying recreational aircraft is so good.

  9. That's a point David - it would mean extra weight and complexity as a simple lever set up is easy and simple. Perhaps I talk to the Master people and see if that can be an option down the track, perhaps the Master mk2. Gives you a reason to sell your first one to get a another one in a couple of years 006_laugh.gif.0f7b82c13a0ec29502c5fb56c616f069.gif.

When I was over in France I also looked at the MCR. That aircraft has a lot including toe brakes but i was turned off from them as they were very complicated, more things to go wrong when you least need them to, higher maintenance costs and darn HUGE purchase price as well and even then they don't perform as good as or look as good as the Master - just in my opinion

  10. The price I was referring to is indicative of the completed aircraft but offcourse that depends on what panel you are going to have - standard steam gauges or say a new $10,000 tablet PC panel that I will soon have that has every single thing including GPS in a 10inch screen - includes a pen for using the screen between functions, writing notes from ATC etc - will have to dig up a picture of it from my Laptop

  11. It's starting to come back to me now - we couldn't have toe brakes as it was very complex due to the fact that the seat is an integral part of the structure and doesn't move so the pedals are adjustable to suit your height. Adding toe brakes to adjustable pedals I think would be a nightmare as they would also have to be adjustable

  12. One of the changes we wanted as a result of everyone's input was the right side for throttle however we are going for the option of having either to suit what you would like. Ex Jab drivers may like right hand stick/left hand throttle whilst others may prefer left hand stick/right hand throttle

Actually, I have been wondering whether I can get a dynon either side of an Avmap GPS in the panel and your picture tends to suggest I can - will have to get the pictures off my laptop from my trip there last year to have a look for sure - thanks!

  13. Within the next 2 weeks I should receive the Production Plan for the Master. This will enable me to book a flight over to Italy to get my one together ready to bring back here to show you all and start taking any orders for your own one.

I very much want you to see one in the flesh, go for a test flight etc to make sure you are happy with this incredible aircraft that will reset our thoughts on flying recreational aircraft - now the sleepless nights in anticipation begin again 006_laugh.gif.0f7b82c13a0ec29502c5fb56c616f069.gif

  14. Your own blog will start to get a ranking in Google as they are already seeing them so the more you and your friends use it means the higher ranking you will get when someone searches Google for something that you have in your blog - this helps your blog to get noticed

  15. Have I got a solution for you Ian - I am halfway through adding a radio, television, airports webcam and ATC broadcast enhancement for the forums - you can listen to a radio station from around the world or live ATC feeds while browsing the forums or have a look at an airport like Essendon embedded into our own Rec Flying pages like the way weather, airstrips etc are done:

    http://202.130.209.78:8181/top/liveapplet.html

But I think I should just let things settle down a bit now first as there have been a lot of enhancements done over the last couple of days - also coming are your own Rec Flying email addresses and more.

  16. That's the good thing about the site, I believe, is that it gives you a lot of options that hopefully will cater to "everyone's" needs - you can just view the forums as just that, those that want to use the photo gallery can or the planner, the airstrips, the blogs or even the games - it's all here for you to use just what you want to use. I hope I haven't clouded the forums themselves with everything else though - tried to keep a lot separated from the forums themselves

  17. Do you know that you have a few web addresses that you can give your friends to your own blog!

When you are in your blog have a look at the address bar of your browser. It will say something like:

    www.recreationalflying.com/forum/blog.php?b=1

    - the number at the end is the number of YOUR blog

If I use the above example I can give my friends any one of these addresses:

    www.recreationalflying.com/forum/blog.php?b=1

    www.recreationalflying.com/forum/blog.php?b=1

    www.recreationalaviation.com.au/forum/blog.php?b=1

    www.recreationalaviation.net.au/forum/blog.php?b=1

    www.ultralight.net.au/forum/blog.php?b=1

    - just change the number at the end to the number of your blog
