Hi All
had some great news from Luisa and Curzio - they have commenced manufacturing the BETA kits. 5 of them are being built with one of them being sent to me :smiley4:
:star: (and every other happy smiley). A BETA kit is one where they test that things like instructions, paperwork, parts lists etc etc are all tested to make sure there is everything that is needed for the average person to complete the aircraft. It also provides an aircraft that is used for certification in the country of registration. If everything goes well with the BETA kit then full production of the Millennium Master will commence in about 3 to 4 months time. This allows for 1 month build, 1 month shipping and 1 to 2 months kit build - remember these are complete aircraft other then:
1. bolt wings on
2. attach engine and prop
3. build your own panel and wiring
There will be the option of them coming already painted in standard Millennium Master colours or you can paint your own.
Exciting times ahead - it's just a pity I couldn't get it here and ready for NatFly

- unfortunately it's not Riddells Creek - but the answer is in the trees

Shelley hasn't had time to judge it yet - won't be long

Time then to begin the competition for March. To win the next three editions of Australian Flying magazine for absolutely FREE, simply post your pictures or stories in this thread. The best of Aussie luck to you.
Oh, also don't forget a Caption for your image and just say if you also have another copy of the image that is:
- jpg format
- at least 300 dpi (dots per inch) at a usable size (say 6" x 4" or around 16 x 10 cms)
- and if to be considered as a cover pic - in vertical format
- aircraft(s) identified in caption
So if you win, your picture could go into Australian Flying magazine.
This should be a big month for flying, so get snapping and get the pictures into this thread for your chance to win.
AND a HUGE thanks to Australian Flying for supporting this great competition

The CEO of Recreational Aviation Australia, Lee Ungermann today announced that the RA-Aus have received a grant of $5,500 from ATSB for enhanced training of the RA-Aus Accident Investigators.
The money will go towards an extensive 2 day workshop where accident investigators will be further trained in ascertaining the causes in the unfortunate event of an accident ever happening. This will assist everyone concerned, from loved ones to RA-Aus pilots and aircraft owners in getting to an accurate and speedy conclusion as to why an accident happened.
Thankyou ATSB

Where is it Derek?I know just the place ;) Will a 3-acre block be big enough for your museum and a 900m runway be long enough for your flying school?Derek

I will be there as well so I hope to catch up for a coffee with a few of you

Jack - I wanted to do one at Wallan here in Victoria that had a focus on Recreational including a Museum of recreational aircraft and a Recreational Flying school but alas it was not to happen - this time.
-
Dave
I will look into it in a few weeks - thanks!
-
Thanks Decca - after the many accidents of late especially Echuca with the Gyro where fire was the killing factor and the discussion here about fuel tanks I wanted to offer some kind of clothing that was more protective as an option to everyone - pretty expensive though

I was up at the Mitre10 hardware store the other day buying some bolts and they told me that they are starting to slowly phase out stocking a lot of the metric range and broadening their range of imperial ones...I thought that weird

Thanks Check-in - I need a hangar myself and found these so I was just curious on whether they were financially comparable to getting something here

Get together at the Recreational Flying tent where coffee/tea and even Hot Cross Buns were in the plentiful for all the members to enjoy whilst sitting back and talking...(careful

If you would like to email them to me I can resize them and post them up if you like - email them to admin at recreationalflying and the usual .com.au

Rob, there was enough interest but it has just been postponed.
To cut a long story short for personal reasons I really wasn't able to focus on it and I was not going to be able to attend myself so I am very sorry but it will happen...bigger and better soon
-
Might be able to help you out but not until Monday if that is any good unless anyone else can help out any earlier

My idea was that I am sick and tired of having to detour around the Puckapunyal Military Zone so if I flew a CT that was made with Kevlar and I had one of these jackets then all is well...I could just fly straight over the top of Pucka

-
Sure can - in fact I am hoping to get to Oshkosh this year.
I think I can remember someone saying about organising a Recreational Flying Group
-
I gotta get myself one of these - well, what do ya think???

Jack, I don't know about Oshkoah and Yes, I will be arranging the certification for Australia with the RA-Aus.
The LSA category has been coming into Europe for a while and the latest was suppose to be Feb but it has been delayed (see here) so the 450 stands in Europe however I am trying to find out what I can do for the 544/600 here - would hate to see such a beautiful aircraft flying initially with its hands tied behind its back while it waits for Europe to get their act together
