  1. G'day and Welcome Hagman:thumb_up:

Great to hear about your first lesson coming up, I can still remember my first lesson in the Drifter...

You'll have to let us all know how it goes...

The only real tip I can give you is: If your a bit hesitant on the outdoors thing, just forget about that and enjoy the scenery and you'll soon fall in love with it, I know I did...!

    Have Fun...

  2. G'day Jetsetkiwi and welcome to the forums...

Ask away, there's plenty of good help around the forums, just don't get a fright about how quick you'll get an answer:big_grin:

I'm currently training at Dalby, I've got about 3.5hrs of solo flying before I can go for my recreational license, so pretty good feeling it is:thumb_up:

    Have fun,

  4. Thompson.....? it's just as well I'm multi lingual thought dotdashi_dunno?

I've just disappeared into the cloud, now just as well I'd thought ahead! I pulled out a nail and hammer (out the top pocket) and hammered it into the panel, pulled out a piece of fishing line (in the other top pocket) and a sinker (in the inside coat pocket), tied it on to the nail, and presto I got myself an ingenious artificial horizon...

while doing all this, this Thompson fella was keeping a close eye on the clock (a fandagled digital one) making sure I had got it up and running in the 187seconds, 'cause after that, it would have been to late!!thumb_down

Now that I'm all set for INLSR (I No Longer See Roads), my next job is to find that rivet-less tin can:loopy: and put a few starch shots into him (for those with a small imagination, that's a Spud!!, Don't believe me? go and get a raw spud and bite into it!)

    Mean while, avahlocks.....................

  5. G'day and welcome Metlmodr,

I'm glad you enjoy the NES, I enjoy it to, but don't have much time to contribute a lot to it:sad:

Have Fun, and continue with the "To-be" flying:thumb_up:

You'll make quite a few jealous putting in that you fly PC9 aircraft:big_grin: A nice aircraft...

I fly a Drifter, not as fast as the PC9's, but there pretty fun all the same..!:thumb_up:006_laugh.gif.0f7b82c13a0ec29502c5fb56c616f069.gif

You know, I was thinking that while lying in my bed the other night... How do they? anybody know?

Bit of a side track I know, but it is an interesting thought....:ah_oh:

  8. Tomo was ..........

Quite impressed by the performance by the moo-ing out landing that he just achieved... but the thought of how catastrophic it could end up if they departed there formation:ah_oh: so he had to think back to the mustering days and come up with some cow language, which dotdash achieved quite easily, so told them to up there speed to about 35mile an hour, that way I can do a nice STO, only moving the wheels about 2" on the back of the lipstick covered cow's......

So climbing back up to 9,999ft he felt quite confident that everything was going just fine, but just then I notice something out the corner of the circular object's that are quite useful, situated side by side in the front part of the (what is commonly know as the noggin) which changed the confidence quite dramatically.............

  9. Your, you're, yore, same difference!!006_laugh.gif.0f7b82c13a0ec29502c5fb56c616f069.gif

Talking about mice eating, the poor queesnland Health service heard that a poor young fella's plastic covered winged two pot screemer was getting all eaten up, and I don't won't anything to do that to me yeld the health officers...Oh...alright you can use up a bit more of the governments money and take the big baby....;) so a couple of people turned up in a big KINGAIR to go and count the fury four legged Mice.... and say, yeah there correct, there is a lot of them:blush:006_laugh.gif.d4257c62d3c07cda468378b239946970.gif

any way back to the Mt Isa cross country...........

  11. So Guys, I need some feed back on what you reckon here...

I've had this thought (inspired by another member) to have our own little photo competition, now there's one that has been running, and I think there used to be one, but this time it will be judged by the staff group of this site (by votes maybe) that way you can get a range of judges so it will be judged competitively...

Depends on how many photo's we can get on how often it will be judged, but let's say once a month for starters...

Ok. instead of winning a something, you will win a recognition Icon near your user name (or there abouts).... I suppose we can start off with a bronze coloured one and if your good enough to win again, it will be changed to silver, then gold etc....

So What do you "All Reckon" about that???

  12. It was amazing that it ran smoothly right up to the time he stopped it and then failed to start again.

You know, I had my old go-cart engine do that, it's an old Briggs and Stratton, it was running perfectly. I stopped it, and when I came back later to start it again, I had no compression at all, I thought, 'Gee that's weird!' but yeah, it just spun around and around with no obstruction what so ever...! So I quickly pulled the head off, and pushed on the piston and it went straight down!! In the end I pulled the whole thing apart, and yeah the Con-Rod had broken right on the small end bush!

So yeah, it was still running with it broken, but obviously the firing of the piston kept it together!;)
